Started eating at Maple Garden in 1990 the best take out around. Mandarin Chicken is always a hit.

I’ve never been there in person, and am only writing about my online ordering/delivery experience. I’ve ordered there about 8 or 9 times so far and have had the chicken chow mein, orange chicken, mar far chicken, and deluxe chow mein. For the most part, it was all pretty good except for some overcooked chicken here and there, and some of the veggies in the chow mein seemed a bit undercooked. My only problem with them was in the last time I ordered from them, the chow mein had two halves of a broken toothpick hidden in the noodles. I didn’t notice them before taking a bite, but thankfully it didn’t pierce anything in my mouth. Would have given 3 or 4 stars if it hadn’t been for that experience. Edit 6÷19÷2016: Decided to try them again after my last experience, and had my usual chicken chow mein, since it was my favorite dish other than the toothpick being in there once. They changed all of the ingredients they used for it. Different type of noodles, chicken, and sauce. They also seem to just dump 3 times as much sauce on the dish as they have in the past. Overall, not a great dish anymore in my opinion.

I have grown up enjoying Maple Garden’s pork fried rice and absolutely love all their other dishes. After over two decades of enjoying Maple Garden’s never changing consistency of huge portions and menu growth I am happy to write a five star review.

I was not pleased with the food what so ever. I’m hoping maybe I caught them on an off night, but the sesame chicken did not taste like anything I’ve had before. The sesame chicken had the consistency of soggy socks. Also the Kungpau chicken was a major let down, it was more of a soup then an entrée, and the only thing that had flavor was the peanuts. A side of fried rice is 3.50 and all it is is soy sauced rice with eggs. Big bummer

Ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken and the Duck Fried Rice. Will never eat here again. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was largely just batter around a few strands of chicken meat. It was disgusting. The Duck Fried Rice smelled rancid. As if the duck had been left in boiling water for a few days, and then microwaved before being added to some white rice that had some oil drizzled over it. I could bring myself to eat it. It was grey and smelled dangerous.

Awful! Have eaten there 3 times, each time was progressively worse. Today, the egg flower soup was thin, greasy, left a horrible aftertaste and had little egg in it. The appetizer combo plate contained dried out blobs that I couldn’t even identify. Called the restaurant to complain, in detail, and was told(and I quote), «The person who packed your order said the food was the same as it always is.» Really? That’s your response? Guess where I’m NEVER eating again?

Ordered through Delivered Dish and all around it was pretty good. The chow mein came with pan fried noodles as requested(yay!) and was good despite using the super thin noodles like Panda Express uses as opposed to the proper thick chow mein noodles. The Mongolian beef was delicious. They have the traditional fried prawns instead of Sizzler-style butterfly shrimp like some other local places like to pawn off on you. The egg rolls and sweet & sour pork were also decent. I am still on the quest for great chow mein in Lane County but I would definitely consider ordering again. Try it out!

OMG I love this place! Among my favorites are the garlic pan fried chicken, schezuan anything, chow main, And beef chow fun. Soups are excellent with huge bowls. I love lunch time special because u get your meal with rice(no rice with noodle dishes) a drink and soup. I lovee how everything has that wok fried smokey taste! There are so many things I have yet to try. Oh and pot stickers good too! It’s a little dingy but I don’t care at all. Just super good food. I would rather pay less money for delicious food than sit in a fancy restaurant with huge prices and just OK food. Just eat here and love it!

Well, I will say that this place was way better than the Golden Orient. The food was better.

Really wan. ted some decent Chinese that wasn’t too greasy. This place had great reviews so decided to give it a try. The food was great — and they have a lot of options. I love me some Mu Shu which few people even know about and even fewer seem to serve these days. It is a bunch of very well cooked veggies that are string like and sauteed in a hoisin sauce. In fact, the offen do not serve it with sauce on the side, favoring hoison sauce. Alw ays disappointed when they do that. The first time I ordered: For me: mu shu veg with extra plum sauce, which they never seem to give enough of For a friend: a very expensive pork rib dish. To share: egg rolls and a side of fried rice. I like white right with the meal usually. The mu shu was some of the best I’d ever had and extremely generous. The thin pancakes that come with it were also great. The pork rib dish was great — not on the bone but had sesame and a sauce that was great. The egg rolls were dry and overcooked. Way too crunchy and just seemed old. The next time I ordered I got mu shu veg The comboappetizer platter, which was just plain disgusting. Way too breaded and nasty. They egg rolls were hard, they chicken hard, no ribs which The shrimp was also disgusting. There was so much fried dough on everything I could hardly tell what anything was. Never again. Worst combo platter ever. No sauce could ever have fixed that. The rice was okay but kind of dead. didnt get the chef soup I asked for, either. I’d eat there again, but, be careful that I get what I ordered. And won’t be ordering any egg rolls or things of that nature. I love creamed cheese wontons, but they just dont have them and I wouldnt want to try them anyway. I

Ordered here through hungry ducks, nothing like I expected for the price. Fried rice was barely cooked, the fried shrimp was disgusting and the potato kersey we’re the worse thing I ever tasted… never ordering here again…

This is totally a mom and pop restaurant, which means the food is fresh and the portions, massive. The place is not glamorous at all but this doesn’t bother me one bit because the food and service are on point. Will definitely come back.

I love the sliced bbq duck noodles with pickled cabbage. That being said, it is also the only thing I’ve tried there.

Great food, great prices. Service is almost serve yourself but go in with knowing that. Been coming here for years and never have been disappointed. $ 10.95 for dinner $ 6.95 for lunch includes a cup of soup with your meal for dine in only…

Got chicken chow mien, the chicken was all in once chopped up piece, so chewy and disgusting I had to spit it out. The noodles were extremely dry and had zero flavor. The veggies seemed uncooked and weren’t fresh. Nothing about the dish was edible. Would not recommend it. Also I ordered pork fried rice, not sure if that was just a screw up on their part, but there was nothing in it. Literally just fried rice. I will absolutely never be ordering food here again and wish i would have just driven it back over and tried to get a refund.

This is not where you would expect to find decent Chinese food in this town just by the looks of walking by the outside. The food is pretty good, Eugene in my opinion has not had good authentic Chinese food in years. I miss the SzechuanTerrace because they had the best mandarin chicken. Well now I have tried the Maple Gardens and it tastes very much like it, and it makes my heart happy! I also had the Hunan chicken, which was very good as well! I don’t really remember what else I have tried on other visits, but what I do know is that I loved every bite and it is authentic enough for me. I will be a returning customer when I’m craving Chinese food. Only 4 star just because of appearance.

This is my favorite chinese around campus. The lunch special is pretty great, your dish will come with rice, egg-drop soup, and a beverage. They have a huge menu, of which only a portion is in English, so take your chinese friends. I’ve had many items on the menu but the ones I repeatedly get are the sesame beef, mandarin chicken, and salt & pepper squid. Not the cleanest or most prompt place, but it does the trick.

Great bang for your buck. You get more than what you payed for. Try the chicken chow mein. I bet there is better options on the menu but I just really love my generic chicken chow mein. Their garlic chili sauce is also good!

Pretty good Chinese food, whether you want semi-authentic or Americanized. DLW and I had Saturday lunch right after they opened one weekend. We had a hankering for ma la(hot and numbing), and they had it as chicken wings and pork stomach. We went for the wings and the salty pepper fish. Both were served with loads of onions and sauce, as well as rice bowls. Wings were chopped with a cleaver like Chinese chicken often is, and served on the bone. Americans usually prefer their Chinese proteins off the bone, because it’s much easier to eat with chopsticks that way, but we gobbled these up despite our inelegant stick handling. Heat built up fast, but we loved it. Fish was also quite tasty. Egg flower soup beforehand was okay. The interior is pretty dumpy, a typical college town dive, but clean. Service was good, with little language barrier. My advice is to look for the specials and away from the sweet and sour day-glow dishes for something good.

Terrible service! Egg flower soup is nothing but dirty dish water! Felt sick after finishing my dish because of the taste and a server’s dirty nails! Eek!
