There are hardly any food choices in the evening and they charge the same as a full dinner buffet. If you want the entrée-type items, like steak or fish, you have to request it special from a server and wait for it. I didn’t expect the quality of the food to be great and it wasn’t so I can’t really pick on them for that, but this glorified salad bar should be $ 10 tops. Then to our surprise when we got the bill the high price didn’t even include the drink. If you are into pizza lunch buffets maybe it will work for you, but if you want a proper dinner buffet go elsewhere.

Izzys is ok. Their pizza isn’t also fresh they don’t check on it like they should so it tends to be rubbery. Their salad bar is decent. Though their hot food is nothing to brag about. The food tends to lack flavor and it sits for a while and certain foods don’t get touched. It would be nice if they could change up their lunch buffet and not just the soups. The dessert is ok as well. Over all it’s ok food.

Izzy’s is in no way a gourmet restaurant. It is a typical all you can eat buffet style menu. The thing with Izzy’s is the variety of items you can have from pizza, salad, soups, multiple types of sides, and dessert. The price during lunch is reasonable, but dinner is a bit of a stretch. Also if you have a big family it can hit the wallet pretty hard. The best stuff here is the salad options and the pizza. The sides are typical watered down and bland, but with some added salt and pepper can be edible. The customer service was good and didn’t have any empty plates to worry about because they were regularly cleared. My kids love it here because they get to choose what food they wanna eat and of course finish off their visit with multiple desserts.

My husband loves Izzy’s and so does my mother. My husband for the fact it’s familiar, and my mother because she can eat all she wants and have choices. I’m unclear as to how she doesn’t have choices at other restaurants, but whatever. Lol. My husband and I came in last night after a long hike and he was hungry. We waited at the sign that says wait to be seated, as the hostess was cashing someone out. Another couple walked up to be cashed out, which instead of seating us and asking them to wait a moment, she stayed there to help them. I found this to be annoying, given how hungry my husband was, and on the verge of being hangry. Finally the manager came out of the kitchen to seat us. She explained what was available on the grill, and took our order for that. We had Teri as our server, and she is such a sweet person. She very clearly enjoys her job and is a fun waitress. She checked on us at regular intervals, cleaning up plates, and chatting as she went. She knows how to balance conversations without being obnoxious and lingering too long at the table. Which is a great server. The food is pretty average. Although it seems to have improved since the last time we were there. We both had steaks from the grill, and they were cooked perfectly. Usually steak is hit and miss in places like this because the quality is lacking some. They’ve come out with these rosemary and garlic fries, which are delicious. My husband had a piece of the fish, which I tried a bite and it was surprisingly good. They have all the standard stuff, salad bar, dessert bar, pizza, chicken, and some pastas. All of which are good. Average, but good. It’s a place we’ve been coming to for years and will keep returning to. My husband can put away food like Cartman can cheesy poofs. So when he wants to eat a bunch, it’s perfect for him. I think what brings me back is Teri the waitress, and her consistency plus her love of the job.

To sum it up briefly: Environment: 4 stars Quality of food: 3.5ish stars(good enough, but not too much better) Variety of food: 2 stars Service: 2 – 2.5 stars Cost: 3 stars($ 6.99 lunch buffet with coupon, drinks not included) Cleanliness: 4 stars The nitty gritty: So I went in and at first glance, I actually liked how the place looked; the design and lay-out made it feel a bit classier than the average buffet. However, that may simply be my long history with the Chinese buffets I’m so used to. As for the food, I was a little surprised by the somewhat meager selection. I kind of expected a little more. There were three types of chicken(broasted, tenders, something else I forget, maybe BBQ), then some riblets… baked beans, mashed potatoes/gravy, cheesy garlic bread, these deep fried potato rounds, penne, mac and cheese. In another section, there were like 5 or 6 different kinds of pizza. The salad bar was actually really large, and felt bigger than any of the other sections, which is cool but I don’t really go to buffets for salad, heh. I tend to make myself feel sick by the end eating all the fried stuff. The dessert section had a few cakes, tiny cookies and brownies that I later realized were probably that size for the soft serve right next to it. By the end, I couldn’t really handle the grease. That could be my own fault, but even the somewhat greasy crust on their pizza was nauseating. Wish it were a little warmer. The broasted chicken was a little dry and the chicken tenders a little dull. The riblets were sort of chewy in a not-great way. I kind of can’t forgive them for using penne for mac and cheese either. Their noodle/potato salads were meh for me. It was kind of like, everything could have been just a little bit better, and that adds up. The waitress who was serving me was barely there, and since the drinks are self-serve, I was kind of questioning what their purpose was there. I did tip anyway because I asked her to watch my stuff, haha, but yeah. So, decent. 3.5 stars for me, but I always leave buffets thinking«well dang, I really shouldn’t come to these anymore» because I feel gross and it’s never as amazing as I want it to be.

I’m at a loss for words, except YUCK. Don’t waste your money. Although I do give them 5 stars only for their staff, who were all very friendly and efficient.

I do love Izzys but you would think for 12.50 a person plus drinks you would have a larger choice of food. Also fresher food. Buffet items were dry and old and pizza was semi cold. Only warm by the heat lights. Probably one of the worst 30.00 dollars I have spent in a long time.

The salad was crisp and fresh. The pizza was delicious… With perfectly crisp crust with just the right amount of yummy toppings, and lots of hot options to choose from. The fried chicken breast was tender and moist. My favorite dessert was my own creation of the pinnapple upside down cake with vanilla ice cream and a little strawberry sauce. The service was spot on, it was a busy lunch and yet our server always seemed to show up at our table at just the right time. The atmosphere was warm and clean. And, my typically picky toddler even ate a full meal. Can’t wait to go back!

I have always loved Izzy’s until last night. We went in late after having a hard time agreeing on what we all wanted. My daughter, first to get food, grabbed fried chicken and it looked good so i followed her lead. About halfway thru her plate she stopped eating and said she didnt feel well; I kept eating but only had part of that first plate. We sat there for awhile talking and the boys grabbed desert. The service was less than stellar, as the waitress basically ignored us leaving our dirty plates piled up on the table for over 30 mins(I had to scrape and stack them to make room before she did) As I went to pay, I mentioned the food was not sitting well on my stomach. The hostess/cashier didn’t even ask how our meal was or ask if i was alright after my comment. I was really disappointed in everything last night. It didnt meet the standards I’ve had in past visits to the one in Bend. The fact that my daughter and I both threw up in the middle of the night and my boys are both sluggish and not feeling great makes me wish i could give 0 stars The manager DID call back after my complaint and was nice but had no real solutions to offer. I paid $ 60 for 4 people to eat and 3 of us are sick today; I’m disabled on a fixed income and dont go out much. I have no desire to repeat this experience or come back… ever. I just wish I could go back in time and spend my money someplace else

For the price of $ 6.99 — Izzy’s has come out with an All You Can Eat Special for Unlimited Fish and Chip’s for a limited time. Various rumors have it that it may or may not stay on the menu — but, this is the closet thing AYCE fish and chip’s since the Springfield and old West 11th Skipper’s Closed up shop in the Eugene-Springfield Metro area. The fish is cooked well and ripe to a taste as Skippers once did their own locally — but, there is no clam chowder involved which kinda makes a low point in the merit point system, but that’s okay as long as the fish and chip’s, which come in potato wedges, every things tastes as good as it can get and for a reasonable price of $ 6.99. The special is said to cease, but there also talk of a new menu coming out soon as well, what that will be? I have no idea! The fish is hearty for the heart and it’s yummy to the tummy until it goes off the daily menu board of specials, get while you still can… I would call your local izzy’s first to make sure they still have it — if not sent an email back to Izzy’s Corporate Office in Albany and request to get it back on the daily menu and permanently as well. Until next time — have a Happy New Year in 2015.

You ever have rocket fuel come out of your ass. I have given this place 3 different chances. When it first opened I got food poisoning. Waited a year. Thinking maybe after a year it would be better. Nope that time the smell was enough to turn off my taste buds and send me for the door. This last time, it was what foodies have nightmares of. I went for a friend’s birthday and oh dear lord it was traumatizing. I’m pretty sure my ass will never forgive me. The pain associated with izzys is rehashed every time I drive past it. I just pray that no one ever makes me go there again.

Food quality used to be much better. Tasted like leftover night. The pizza I get in the freezer section tastes better. The prices are high enough to expect hot, fresh, quality food. It’s a real shame, I used to really like this place. The only thing positive was the salad bar, but still not to par with what’s available at Market of Choice. I won’t be going back :(

Once you find it, it’s a good value. On Seneca just north of West 11th; terrible signage. On weekends, a thin prime rib is offered. Eh. More like a skirt steak. The seafood puffs were uneven as both depend on who’s cooking. And how do I know this? Because I have kids, we went on consecutive nights. And a mother-in-law who also likes a good buffet.(That explains a lot.) The pizza was good. My husband was pleased he was finally able to pass on his love of Hawaiian Special pizza to the next generation. The salad offerings were fresh although the dressings were a bit sloppy(careful with your ladles!) There was an array of chicken offerings: three glazes for the wings, two for fired chicken, all good. The sides were also tasty, one night had sweet potato scones that ate like muffins, but alright. When I was kid, Izzy would tell us her cinnamon rolls were the best. Still are. Add pineapple upside down cakes today.(Pass on the lava cake.) Other parts of the country may know CiCi’s Pizza Buffet. Izzy’s is much better.

They lost their soul when they switched to buffet style dining, and apparently the good recipes for their pizza. Too bad, their pizza was pretty good.

Meh wasn’t too impressed. As my boyfriend and I were lead to our booth to sit down the girl who put our menus on the table asked if we .or shall i say my boyfriend knew how the menu/pricing worked. He sat down and said he didn’t and she stood infront of the other side of the booth with her back to me and explained it to him in full detail… while I’m just standing there and hes eyeing me like«wtf?».it was pretty strange. I didn’t hear any of what she was saying so he had to explain it to me when she walked away. Overall, the food was just okay… the salad bar had a pretty good Caesar salad. I went back for a second helping and saw a fly buzzing around the mash potato’s, then landed right on em. I decided i was done after seeing that. For the price you could get better food at any other place. Skip Izzys.

I really like this Izzy’s. We usually eat here for dinner when visiting my grandparents that live in Eugene. Once again, I was not disappointed! Their salad bar is fairly average, but there are lots of options. The pizza bar is great, lots of different kinds of pizza and all the ones I had were really good! My favorites are the BBQ chicken and the artichoke pesto(that one is amazing!). Their other food is on another bar, and is really good as well! I love their macaroni and cheese, but their pulled pork was absolutely amazing! I think I filled a whole plate full of their pulled pork! I have no idea what kind of sauce was on them(actually was kind of yellow in color, looked like some sort of mustard sauce) but tasted like really good BBQ sauce! My dad and uncle also loved the ribs you can order from the grill, I think they had like plate after plate of those! Their desserts were also very good, and I really liked their bread pudding and especially their chocolate lava cake, I had 2 of those! Yes I know Izzy’s is a buffet, but its a REALLYGOOD buffet, and I always enjoy eating here and the food is always good! Also, the staff was very attentive and was always replacing food, and putting more food out, and monitoring the buffet bars. The waiter that brought our drinks out was also quick and friendly.
