Stopped at Made from Scratch the other day after work and got a French dip, it was great good meat and the bread is amazing. I also had the curly fries which might be the best curly fries in town great overall experience, I always love eating at the Fifth Street Market

Ordered the soup and salad; their homemade clam chowder and house salad. Hands down, best clam chowder in Eugene! Ample amount of clams, simple ingredients, just excellent! The homemade blue cheese dressing was awesome and the addition of pickled onions and carrots atop the salad was great. What a great addition to the 5th Street Market food court! Going to be even harder to decide where to eat now, ha!

The Asian place that was at 5th Street Market has been supplanted by this place, owned by the same people who own NorthWest Burgers across the way. It’s a worthy concept, making everything fresh to order, but it seems a bit unfocused, and some of the prices make no sense. DLW and I checked it out for Saturday lunch during a slow period, where we had plenty of time to chat with the help and consider our options. They have daily soups, clam chowder on this day, and salads that can be stand-alone or come with their sandwiches or soup as combos. They also have little noshes for snacks, and here is where I will quibble with their pricing. Grilled corn on the cob for $ 4 is a bit high, curly fries for $ 5 should be a big portion to justify that price(we didn’t see it during our visit), and $ 7 for a ball park pretzel is downright ludicrous. DLW chose a soup and salad combo. I had the French dip with a side salad. We were both pleased enough with the food, as everything was nicely presented, and looked and tasted homemade as advertised. They don’t serve alcohol, but other places in the market do, so if you prefer wine or beer to soda, you have the option. This is a food court operation after all, so keeping the menu simple is probably a good call. Stick to the soup/salad/sandwich side, and you should be satisfied with the value, but maybe not with the small plates.
