We have tried this place several times in hopes that it would get better. We would give excuses like, oh it might be the cook tonight or maybe didn’t order the right dish. It didn’t ever get better. We went there three times before we deciding that we wouldn’t go back again. The beers are 2 – 3 dollars more than most places charge as well. So even just stopping for a few brews isn’t something I would want to do either. :/Oh well.

Grady was my server. Friendly and attentive(but not hovering). Some may hipster, I say on par with the culture of today, I had the chili mug and a salad with a glass of pinot. Super delicious and filling for a reasonable price. I will be back.

Stopped here for dinner last night and were blown away by the food. DE-LISH Reuben and a pork sandwich they named the porchetta which was ridiculously good! Would definitely go back.

Great food overall — we’ve tried the snapper, the reuben, the falafel the kale caesar — which were terrific. The fish and chips were a little meh. It’s not cheap, but the quality of the ingredients and portions have been excellent. Great beers, good service, and definitely get a jar of the whiskey ginger pickles — om nom nom!

Great neighborhood«pub”-although not really a typical pub atmosphere. Sandwiches and fries are excellent. Reuben was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. And you can’t beat $ 2PBR’s on tap!

I called this business as listed for gluten free fish & chips… NOT! The Cod is dipped in rice flour but the fries have wheat on them as bought from company that uses wheat instead of a starch to keep fries separated. Sad that they don’t switch to a company that use starch instead. But then they use wheat flour loosely in deep fryer. I’ll be unbookmarking this restaurant.

I know 5* should be reserved for perfect, but at this point in time it was perfect. I got their falafel(only $ 9) for lunch, and it was satisfying with great flavors. Paired with a Barley Brown’s Pale, I couldn’t have asked for much more. Bier Stein’s shoes are hard to fill, but they are on their way to doing that.

Like most I came to the Cannery based on the other Unilocal reviews. Overall it’s okay. It is not a place I would drive out of my way to go too. The Reuben is pretty good, but wasn’t something I would rant and rave over.

This little place has amazing food! My husband and I were both equally impressed with our meals. I have a food allergy and they were very accommodating and helped me navigate through the menu items, I appreciate that level of customer service.

I was highly impressed by the quality of service at this restaurant. The server went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. They have a great selection of beer; their rueben was succulent and flavorful; the venue itself is tiny but I was able to enjoy dinner with a moderately large group(7 people) without feeling claustrophobic. I will definitely be returning.

I’ve been here twice now, and from all the reviews, I expected to leave happy. I didn’t. Not even close. Other reviewers are right about the parking. The spaces in the back are teensy; if you have a car larger than a compact, park on the street. The first visit: spinach dip as an app. Reuben for my entrée. The app was good, creamy, didn’t skimp on the spinach. I’ve had better reubens; the meat was a little tough, the parmesan crust on the bread fell off, and the bread was soggy. My guess is that they didn’t wring out the kraut. Meh. The second visit: Entre was the snapper BLT and a mixed drink: The Jessie. The drink was a major disappointment; I tasted only the pear-ginger juice. I wonder if they forgot to add the vodka. I ordered the snapper BLT without the B — I don’t eat pork — and was profoundly disappointed. The fish had NO flavor. My best guess is that they are relying on the bacon for all of the flavor, which is lame. My husband ordered the lasagna, which was tasty, but only after he finished did we notice the dish still had saran wrap clinging to the sides. They make it ahead. I get it. But that’s sloppy service. Which brings me to… Service: first time was slow but understandable because the place was quite busy. We had a single server taking care of us, and she was knowledgeable and we didn’t have to ask for anything. Second time was godawful, and when we walked in, there were three open tables and plenty of people who looked like they had been hanging out for a while. They weren’t busy, yet we had to ask for everything: menus, silverware, water, ketchup, and they took their sweet time with all of it except the check – ugh! Dinner came out of the kitchen in about 20 minutes, which was good, but my drink didn’t arrive before dinner, which was not good. Also our dinner was delivered by the chef, and he seemed harried. When I told the chef I was still waiting for my drink, he looked as confused as I was. The check came to $ 33 for two dinners and two drinks. I don’t understand all the five-star reviews for this place.

Yummy! I have had this place bookmarked for months and finally got to try it. I had the snapper BLT and it was a surprising and delicious flavor! I really liked it. I also really liked the shoestring fries with fry sauce. My husband said his fish and chips was great too! I don’t drink beer but everyone else in our party said they liked theirs a lot. Two reasons for giving 4 stars instead of 5: the fries were lukewarm(but still delicious) and service was very slow. This didn’t bother me too much though since this is in fact a bar and not a «fancy restaurant». It looks like they have some really great happy hour deals so I am definitely going back to try the fried pickles!

Went to the cannery for lunch, fried pickles were absolutely delicious(they make there own pickles, sauces & also pickle their own veggies) the batter was light, crisp and not greasy at all. Fish and chips were really good. BLTP Sandwich was ok I’ve had better. Probably should have had one of their specialties —(Reuben or roast beef) delightful waiter. Everyone on the place had a Bloody Mary so, they must be good too!

Excellent Food, great beer selection, friendly accommodating service with very fair prices. The best Reuben we’ve ever had, legendary fried pickles. The Cobb salad was delicious with very fresh greens, thick bacon and delicious dressing. It’s very apparent that the chef/owner is a foodie. Great experience!

Plenty of room but a little dark. My food is delicious! I ordered the snapper tacos. The snapper was seasoned perfectly; little crispy and tangy outside and moist inside. The pickled onion complimented the fish perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the gyro and was soon demolished in minutes. He says was good and obviously enjoyed it. The horseradish coleslaw was a bit disappointing as it pretty much tasted like a salad. My mother ordered the ruben. Says was good but slightly dry with minimal meat, however worth ordering again. In all the portions were perfect and the food was yummy. We will return :)

Get the Reuben! We stopped here for lunch on our way from Coos Bay to Portland. We consulted Unilocal as usual for some good eats. The Cannery came up as pretty good and we read some great reviews on the Reuben. My wife ordered the Gyro and I ordered the Reuben. We both ordered fries. I had a Worthy«Lights Out» Stout. Wife said the Gyro was«ok». They don’t have a spit of meat here(that we saw) — so not quite the same. My Reuben might be the best I’ve ever had! Love the way they fried some parmesan cheese on the outside of the marbled rye bread. Their fries are shoestring style and are crispy. They even have their own homemade ketchup. The stout was cold and tasty. Great place to eat(and drink)!

We stopped here for lunch after driving from Florence. We were looking for a gastropub, and this one was highly-rated on Unilocal.I ordered the BLTP, which is a solid sandwich. The prosciutto adds a nice salt element, but I would have liked more. My dad, however, ordered a Reuben, which if you know my dad, is no surprise. He has grown enamored of the classic sandwich over the last few months, and he enjoys trying the different variations offered by restaurants. The Cannery’s Reuben has a wonderful rye bread that is encrusted in Parmesan. He said the balance of corned beef and house-made sauerkraut was perfect. He said, and I quote, that«it was the best Rueben I have had since I began this journey.» By journey, I do not mean the two other Reubens he has had since we arrived in Oregon less than a week ago. No. I mean since he has been trying Reubens in nearly every restaurant he has eaten at that offers one for the past few months. Unfortunately, we leave tomorrow. C’est la vie. My expert father agrees: Try the Reuben.

I have mixed feelings about The Cannery. We stopped in on a weekend night, and the place had maybe two or three seated tables. Our server was friendly. There was nothing that jumped out at me about the décor or ambiance. The immediate thing that did impress me was the 20 beers on tap! Plus, three or four kombucha selections and an interesting mixed drink list. Try the Rhuberry Lemonade… It’s amazing! Fruity, summery, with a hint of basil… Yummmm! Now on to the food. The menu is quite small with some interesting choices. The wings as an appetizer are delicious. I loved the spicy/sweet sauce. I think they were $ 10 for 9, though… More than a dollar a piece for tiny little wings? Hmmmm… The best part of our meal was the house salad and the fries. The fries were tasty – thin and super crunchy. The house salad was quite good with a great mix of dark leafy greens, juicy, flavorful tomatoes, and thick cut carrots. My entrée, a burger, wasn’t anything to jump up and down about. My boyfriend’s gyro was 3⁄5 stars(according to him). If I went back, I’d order the fries and wings again in a heartbeat. This place is definitely worth a go if you want to hang out in a low key environment and enjoy a great selection of beers! They have canned goods for sale, too. One major negative: the women’s bathroom. It’s dark purple, oddly decorated(not in a good way) and depressing. But hey, what does that really matter in the grand scheme of things.

I’ve only been here once. Parking sucked. But the food was really good. I had the goat cheese appetizer, and it was great. I also had the gyro, not super authentic but the meat had a great flavor, and the fries rocked. Their fry sauce did not rock. They also had a large variety of good local beers and ciders. I am excited to go back to check out more

Went here for lunch yesterday. Nice bar/restaurant set up. They have a pretty good tap list and the servers are friendly. The bloody mary recipe here is solid, it had a nice spiciness to it with the typical fun garnishes. We ordered the reuben with the fries and the kale salad. food was overall good. I wasn’t as pleased with the reuben as other Unilocalers seem to be. It was just missing something. The shoestring fries with their fry sauce was awesome and the kale salad was delicious. This was my second visit here and it certainly won’t be my last.
