In my experiences at McMenamin’s it can either be a hit, or a miss. Most of them have a general menu of burgers, and fries and then some of them have a special menu for that particular location. This location there has been times where I have been really wowed, and other times I have been extremely disappointed. They change their menu’s often so it is not like you can stick with your favorite food. A few years ago we brought our friends here raving about this place only to be disappointed. Then we waited it out and went back and the menu changed and we were wowed again. I can tell you I do favor the lemon drops half sugar rim. Other wise you end up with sticky fingers. We showed up on Valentine’s Day night and our meal was kind of 50⁄50. I think I liked the happy hour items better to be completely honest. And I wasn’t too thrilled with my fruity drink that was recommended to me. I almost sent it back for more juice. I know they make great drinks here. I have had them. I actually poured water in it to calm it down. The wings were great! I loved them. The chicken skewers had a flavor out of this world! I would go back just for those… during happy hour! The pork shank was good, but not sure we quite like the purée stuff it came with. I had the V-day special which was cod and edamame and peas puréed which were gross! It also had roasted carrots and those were at least good and edible. The cod was good, but I just wish it had better sides. Like why the need to purée? I get it if it’s soup maybe. But ick! Maybe go back to basics like mashers? Or regular salad? Or veggies? Just no purée. Just sayin! I have had an excellent steak, gluten free bun with a burger, excellent pork sliders, and wonderful steak or chicken salads here.

It had standard McMenamins fare– delicous burgers and even better tots. I am personally am a huge fan of their lemon drops and other cocktails. What makes North Bank different is the awesome view of the river and the very cool(newly renovated!) tiki bar. The service was spectacular and the bartender was fun to talk to. I will be back soon!

Although I’ve enjoyed many great meals here, the last one really outshined the rest. I was honestly surprised to see they Duck Confit as this was not the sort of entrée I had previously seen on their menu. In-fact, I often just ordered steak and fries. It was simply delicious. Another intriguing menu item was the Smoked Pinapple Pork Curry Soup. I seriously had no choice but to order up a cup and see what it was all about. Oh-my-god it was fantastic. Just the perfect balance of spicy and sweet notes. Couldn’t stop raving about it to the waiter! I recommended this place back then, and I’ll definitely recommend it now!

Delicious food and great service. I had the Korean chicken sandwich and it was amazing. Plus the view is gorgeous of the willamette river.

Menu online apparently changed a month ago. Totally not accommodating to vegans or other food restrictions. Beware!!!

A good friend recommended we stop here, and we were not disappointed. We sat on the patio and had a fabulous view of the river. We both enjoyed Captain Neon burgers — mine with a gluten-free bun. The burgers are made from local, grass-fed beef, and they were fabulous. Definitely worth stopping here.

I am just confused by this place and can’t tell what they are really trying to be. It was so dark that you couldn’t see the menu. Our waiter acted like he was afraid of us, maybe the consequence of legalized pot. The burgers were just okay but the Elk Burger in particular was dry(caveat that elk is super lean). I had the pork belly stew which was alright and struck a balance between sweet and sour but left me craving some sort of crispy element to break up the soft monotony. It was just not good or welcoming enough to return to.

It’s a nice laid back, dim, restaurant. They make great drinks at reasonable prices. I was a little disappointed at first with their limited menu. They mostly serve burgers… But the burgers turned out to be amazing. Me and my girlfriend were both impressed. Service was great as well.

This is one of my favorite McMenamins. The food is good(mostly McMenamins standard but the bar is a Tiki Bar and they serve some special items) the drinks are what you would expect from a McMenamins, the stars here are that it is right on the river and has a great patio for nice days. We stopped by for passport stamps and Happy Hour. Service was great and the food was cooked well. My only complaint was I ran out of sauce before I ran out of my free tater tots(I was getting full anyway and that’s not much of a complaint.)

I am glad I bought the McMenamins passport because we probably would not have ever stopped here otherwise — since it is hidden near the river off the beaten path. I loved the tiki bar and kitchey theme. It reminded me of an Old Spaghetti Factory inside decorated with ferns, flora, fauna, and faux tikis from islands a far. I loved it. More themed the better. We took a seat outside and enjoyed the river and beautiful weather. The African peanut soup was amazing and they put real peanuts on top. The other soup was extra cheesy and also tasted homemade. We also ordered the Asian cauliflower which was seasoned to perfection. Nice to see some variety and unique menu items that sets themselves apart from others in the chain. They also specialize in Mai Tais, but we did not order one since they seemed quite high. Fun restaurant though, and we loved finding it. We will come back again when we come through Eugene again. One of the best ones I have visited on my passport journey.

I really enjoyed this McMenamins in Eugene. It has a Tiki theme and has a great view of the river from the patio. The employees were really friendly and the food was delicious. The Kalua Pua Pork sandwich is one of the best pulled pork sandwiches that I have had.

Super enjoyable. Great service Shayna! Recos were killer. Specials weeping Tiger Salad. Steak cooked perfectly! Greens good not plentiful. Miso Lomi Steelhead. Killer. Better than Ahi Tartare! Loved the wontons and spice. Great beer! Glad I ran by and scoped out this super location. Very good!

First time here. Very nice inside. Staff happy and friendly and gets your order fast to you and the food is hot and very taste. There ketchup is a Portland organic ketchup. Very good with my burger and fry’s. Music playing not loud and nice to listen to. The inside is clean and tiki setting inside. Very nice.

The atmosphere is Northwest, very Eugene, the service is fast, only waited 10 minutes. Food was awesome and to be expected of a McMenamin’s. Beer could be colder. Fantastic Sunday afternoon experience. We will be back.

Gets an extra star for the remarkable service and ambiance. The food was decent. We tried the infamous Cajun tots. They are good with seasoning. Just Tots if you don’t season. Salad was excellent. Fresh with fabulous dressing. We ordered a salmon special. Came rare which is good for me but odd. Sauce a little heavy for dish. Veggies good. Appears to be a landmark. I would recommend going. I think it’s likely best location in town.

This Tiki themed McMenamins is nothing less that perfectly placed along the river with nothing between you and the water less the biking/running path for easy, laid back people watching while taking in a few rays. There’s plenty of shade to be found also right along the firepits for early evening dinner with a bit of comfort should you need a little extra heat. The food here was good as I came here for lunch but I would be far fetched to say that it set itself apart from upscale restaurants for the quality of the food especially for the price. In my opinion, I’d definitely go for the drinks and happy hour prices on appetizers and enjoy good company and friends on the outdoor patio area.

This is my favorite Mcmenamins in Eugene. I love the ambiance inside with all the greenery and the big windows looking out upon the Willamette river. My favorite part though is the deck that sits in the river with the big firepit. We didn’t have time to stay here, since we just stopped in to get a stamp and get our prize or fries to go. While waiting for our fries, we hung out on the deck by the fire and watched the river, it was really nice and serene. Our fries took a little bit and when we first came in, it took a few minutes for them to realize we were there, hence the 4 stars, not 5. The fries were delicious! I normally get tots at McMenamins, but thought we’d try something different. We ate them in the car on the way to the Corvallis Mcmenamins.(Doing the passport.) Only thing they could have used was salt, but other than that they were cooked to perfection. Want to go back and have a beer by the river on their deck!

My husband and I went to North Bank for a drink the day after Thanksgiving. I ordered a Foster’s Brown Ale, which was delicious! If you like English-style brown ales, then this beer won’t disappoint! Since we were just ordering drinks, we sat at their recently-renovated«Kapu Hut,» which offers a scenic view of the Willamette River. They serve Hawaiian-style appetizers that looked tempting, but I will need to try those next time around. Our experience wasn’t bad: the server was friendly and the beer was good. Given that it was the day after Thanksgiving, I’m not sure that the energy level was where it’s normally at. With that being said, I’d need to revisit this location in the summer to see if there is a livelier atmosphere.

During our Thanksgiving trip to Eugene, we headed to North Bank to add a new stamp to our McMenamins passport. I would think this place is normally a little busier, and I kind of thought with it being a big shopping day, more people near the Oakway center would be swinging by for a refreshing beer. Guess not. It was pretty quiet in here on a Friday night during happy hour. We hopped into the bar, which is their newly renovated bar going by the name of The Kapu Hut(hint: that’s a new stamp for your Cosmic Tripsters). Our server was very nice(and as a side note, I’ve been very impressed that no McMenamins employees have been irritated to stamp these passports). The North Bank would be great to check out in the summer. They have a huge patio overlooking the river. Our seat from the Kapu Hut provided a good view as well. This place is really trying to attract a younger crowd and I hope they succeed, but this evening we were the youngest in there by a good margin. We only had a beer here this time around, so didn’t check out the food menu. The happy hour options looked pretty solid though.
