It seems like I never have enough time to explore the wonderful selection of antiques and jewelry at Pewter Rabbit. My visits to Eugene are infrequent but I always try to stop by and see what’s in store. This trip I loved looking at the Victorian coral jewelry and the well-priced vintage kimonos. This is not funky junk or replicas but true vintage items and antiques. Treasures beckoned from every corner but as always, there was not enough time to soak in all the visual splendor. Next visit, I promise!

We had a great experience at Pewter Rabbit this morning finding my wedding ring. We went there specifically after reading the Unilocal reviews about the wonderful antique jewelry and they weren’t wrong! There is some wonderful stuff here, beautiful, great condition, really well priced. Some amazing furniture pieces too. A lot more consistently high quality items than you’ll find in a lot of antique stores. The owner Shelly and the other ladies working there were all really great and pleasant and helpful, we didn’t experience any of what some of the negative comments describe. But I can only suppose– admittedly from watching too much Pawn Stars– that people tend to overvalue their items sometimes, and get upset. But we had a great experience and left really happy. I will absolutely be back!

I was on the hunt for unique vintage textiles, and wandered into this shop. Shelley, the owner, personally showed me over to a drawer in the back that I would not otherwise have found, which contained exactly what I was looking for — a stunning blue handmade Guatemalan huipil! The storefront is beautiful, the staff is kind and helpful, and the merchandise is out of this world!

One of the best antique stores I’ve ever been too — and I sort of know antiques, as I had my own store years back. The staff is very helpful — the inventory is logically organized, there is NOJUNK and the prices are reasonable for the quality. If you want twenty year old collectibles, this might not be the place to shop, but when you are looking for genuine quality antiques, you can’t beat this store. They were even willing to take my name so if they got in more of what I collect, they can call me. How sweet is that!!!

Love this antiques and antiques jewelry store, it made me so happy! Shelly was very nice and knowledgable! They have the most selection of amazing antique jewelry I have ever seen! And I’ve been to tons of antique jewelry stores and make fine jewelry myself and I was so impressed with the selection! Also the antiques we’re well displayed and incredibly unique, in good shape and tons of selection! I’m going back first thing when I win the lottery and buying as much as I can carry out!

We’re planning a trip to Eugene soon, and can’t wait to go back to Pewter Rabbit to see what they have. After seeing all these snively comments(while searching for shops to visit), I feel compelled to put my two cents in. Hands down, I think Pewter Rabbit is one of the best antique stores ever. It is so well curated, and I love how the collections are grouped — not just a hodgepodge explosion of «stuff» that happens in many antique stores. There’s a range of goods and fun things to look at around every corner. The owner has a great eye for interesting objects, and there’s no junk to sift through. I get so depressed seeing 90s Corningware bowls and kitsch from the 80s passed off as «vintage»(or mid-century; hardly) in so many antique stores these days. There’s none of that here. We were treated very nicely last time we were in, even if our antiquing budget is down to the thrift store level. For those who are trying to sell items, I get that you want as much as possible for them(and it’s a shock when maybe grandma’s prized possession is not as valuable as she thought), but it’s a tough world these days, and a lot of styles of antiques aren’t selling like they used to. I have to respect the owner’s taste with what she wants to bring in, and sense of how long it might take her to sell something, and — gulp — actually make a living with what she sells. You’re always free to bring your stuff around to other stores and see what they say(not just what it’s worth, but what will they actually buy it for!). Or, put it on craigslist and have a bunch of strangers calling you and tromping around your garage and eeeuuuww, who knows? Anyway, they get five stars from me.(Also five stars for having a nice dog in the shop.)

The people that work here as well as own the store are very rude and condescending. They don’t seem to know very much about jewelry or antiques and they aren’t helpful. I wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone that values customer service, do not expect to be treated with respect at Pewter Rabbit.

I absolutely love this store. The vibe is entirely down to earth, the prices reasonable and the employees knowledgeable and friendly. Pewter Rabbit is the sort of store that celebs and people in the know stop by when in town and is undoubtedly one of the best antique stores in Oregon. Jewelry lovers take note: The jewelry selection is not only educational and inspiring, it makes you wish you’d left your wallet at home.

I am a college student in town. I have been to Pewter Rabbit on numerous occasions and find each of the staff people — all women from what I can tell — to be incredibly condescending. I came in today with a silver necklace that I was hoping to sell back to the store — I bought it there previously. Even before I could take the necklace out the woman looked down on me as I can only assume she thought I had no money for being a student. I took the necklace out of my pocket and all she could do, considering that I had hurriedly biked to the store to try and make it when they were open– helmet and paniers with me– was say«nope.» Not«I’m sorry, I don’t think we are currently looking for items of that sort, have a nice day.» Just simply«nope.» I can only imagine she was busy trying to swoon a bleach-blond who walked in just behind me stepping out of an SUV. She obviously had more money to burn. She said hello to me as I walked in but was obviously more captivated by the suburbanite behind me. While I may not have a lot of money to spend, I am a collector of antique postcards and know quality when I see it. There postcards, among other things, are overpriced. I posted a message on the store’s Facebook wall explaining my interactions with these condescending people and it was promptly deleted. Hmm… perhaps they are trying some damage control, from the looks of what is on Unilocal they have a history of condescension towards customers except perhaps the richest of the rich.

Located on Broadway st next to Passionflower. The owner is a very kind and almost mother like. I’ve been in maybe 20 or 25 times now and they remember me, which is nice. I don’t go their for the antique furniture, glasses, dishes or rugs. I go there for their Jewelry! Oh my my my! Their JEWELRY is beautiful, old and full of spirit and very reasonably priced. I love the idea of recycled rubies, diamonds, opals and gold. Wearing, what was someone else’s(and what is now mine) prized piece of jewelry. I like to imagine who they were and sort of hope they approve that what was once theirs is now mine. This is actually where I found my wedding ring! It’s beautiful and much less expensive than if I got the same thing at a jewelry store in the mall. They also have Lay-a-way and take every credit card imaginable!

If you are sleuthing the greater Eugene area for«true» antiques, you will quickly realize that this establishment represents the finest housing of antiques under one roof without room for disappointment. The staff is always a pleasure to converse with, laughter is always free, the stock is always rotated, they encourage you to handle the wares, and they have excelled at that rare and delectable practice of thinning the diamonds from the rough. Their offerings will satisfy the most discerning lover of all things aged, and you are sure to walk away with on object which speaks of history and intrigue. If you enjoy vintage schlock or other cultural detritus, you should shy away from Pewter Rabbit, but if you enjoy well presented and beautifully produced antiques with an emphasis on quality, this is the place for you.
