River Ranch Steak House

This restaurant is closed and the building is torn down! Replaced with a big apartment house with no eating facilities.

I really want to give this place 3 stars. Because I want to encourage restaurants in Eugene.
The steak was great, the sides generous [Lumberjack Syndrome], and the martini large and perfect. One other nice benefit is that you could get a reasonably good local Oregon wine by the glass that was not from the typical Wine Distributor from Hell selection. All for typically lower than average Oregon prices.
The atmosphere is Western-​Saddle-​Up-​Whoop-​Em-​Yee-​Ha which is amusing and cutsey. I would actually try this place again.
Which I did again with a party of 8, some hungry Fighting Ducks high on whipping Wash State’s red and gray ass. The second visit confirms this place is solid. but I would add the service was very good and large crowds are not a picnic for servers. This is not a place to write home about, but then the restaurants in Eugene are not exactly in the Secret Michelin guide of Haute Cuisine.
