Fabulous. Greeted promptly and we didn’t have reservations but we were seated right away. Food was exceptional. Great service and definitely recommend.

Finally tried this place. Aach! Loved it! Too late! Sold & closing end of this month. Reopening under new management. Ah well– as Kesey said, «onwards!». Hope they don’t change much. Loved the food we tried(excellent seared bacon cheeseburger, artfully plated salad main) and the dishes we saw go by. Five star, hip ambience, great stylish bar & dining room. Eight of us were in a beautiful private dining room, fireplace and gorgeous golden fish wall mural. And Monday’s they have $ 10 burger & brew special, one of the best deals in Eugene.

Wonderful food and service No reservation needed as we were seated immediately. The option of sparkling water is appreciated. I’m in love with the octopus appetizer! The filet mignon was cooked perfect and paired beautifully with the pinot. Melted in my mouth! The Crème Brule and Sicilian cocktail ended the meal perfectly

While passing through your part of the country and Facebooking our journey it was brought to our attention that we had family in the area. Quick plans were made to meet for dinner for an impromptu small family reunion. Thanks to you guys you made the night unforgettable. Thanks for great food and a great staff. I posted the photo our waitress took of us. Sorry I don’t recall her name, but she was awesome!

This is gonna be short but to the point Started with calamari and it was soooooo tender! A little salty with the red sauce. I would have preferred a creamy sauce but really that’s just personal. Hubs had the fillet super good beefy and tender. I had pork chop. It was the most juicy, tender, pork chop I have ever had. I usually am not huge fan of pork chops because they are sawdust and chewy! This was exactly the opposite. They say they brine it in house and it was just short of orgasmic.

Stopped here for a holiday lunch with family and we were not disappointed. None of us had actually been here before, but reviews were good and it was conveniently located. We got there shortly before noon and pretty much had our pick of places to sit. This could be because Unilocal seems to think they are not open for lunch and shows there open hours beginning at 4pm. We had seen the lunch menu on their website so figured they would be open. The décor is comfortable, and the dining room has high ceilings with floor to ceiling windows(a plus for being able to people watch, but on a cold winter day, a LOT of cold air comes off those windows so if seated by one, you may want to keep your coat.) The host and waitstaff were all very nice and for the most part attentive. There were a couple of times we wondered where our waiter had gone, but then realized that there were diners in a different part of the restaurant and he was the only person waiting tables. I had the fish and chips and they were good. Not like stop the presses, these are the best fish and chips I have ever had, but very good. There was no mistaking them for something that had come out of a box in the freezer aisle at your local grocery store. My husband and daughter in law split and shared a chicken sandwich and a hamburger. The chicken sandwich had been ordered with all of the tomatoes to one side, but that was apparently lost somewhere in translation as it was covered in tomatoes, but both said that it was very good and I heard praises of the hamburger at the first bite. My son had the portobello sandwich and all seemed enjoyable with that as well. We all had fries as the side. They were shoestring style with peel on. Not overly greasy which is always a plus. They could have been a little crispier on the outside, but the inside was perfect. Lunch ran us about $ 10/person which is pretty average for the area. Definitely a place we will return to, perhaps next time to try out their dinner menu.

Ox & Fin is a fantastic place for special occasion dinners. We brought my mother-in-law here for her birthday dinner last night. She loves the little donuts and dipping sauce they bring out along with a candle for birthdays; therefore, this place is her first choice every year. We all ended up with steaks that were cooked to a perfect medium rare. We also had the croquettes. They change the recipe every day(I think). Last night it was jalapeño and bacon, so so tasty. They make delicious cocktails, and their wine selection is good although not broad. I love how many Oregon pinots they offer along with a few nice Washington big reds. The service was impeccable. We always have had wonderful servers here, but last night our server really made the night relaxed and upbeat.

While Ox & Fin was good, I was extremely disappointed that my dish was missing ingredients. I ordered the diver scallops with squid ink pasta and mushrooms. When my dish arrived, it was scallops on some what tasted like boxed linguini from the store. I asked the waitress, and she said«they must have ran out in the kitchen». Would have been nice to know ahead of time :-/ Dish wasn’t bad… But I wish they would have been transparent up front about not having elements of the dish available. :(

We sat at the bar and had a cocktail, first tried«The Ford» which is gin and orange. Well don’t get it! Horrible! But the bartender had no problem getting me something else. We got to meet the chef and he hooked us up with a very nice piece of toasted bread with some bruschetta, basil and a balsamic vinaigrette. It was very very good! Makes me want to go at there! Which I will soon!

Pros: Great service and servers Food is amazing Great seating especially in the afternoons with music And lastly their food is fresh! We had an issue with the Diver Scallops dish because they didn’t notify us before we ordered it that they no longer had the squid ink noodles that were supposed to be apart of the meal. And even though my friend and I were sharing that one plate, they still have us both each desert on the house! The hostess was very nice(I wasn’t sure if she was the owner) Overall I had a great experience here!

I call this place a pure rip off! Took my mother to listen to some music in the courtyard and decided to eat/drink here. Ordered 2 margaritas(bad mix) Ordered 2 large pear salads — large portion was more like a side dinner salad and I could’ve put the whole salad in the palm of my hand. More arugula would help fill the bowl. Final choice for our light dinner: Fruit and cheese plate. DONOTORDERTHIS! Unless you want to be disappointed! A very large white plate came out with(I’m serious here) 3 small pieces of cheese(each one a different flavor) 1 sliced strawberry, 6 blueberries, 3 raspberries and that was it. I did make a comment to the chef and said it would be better if the plate was not so big and white /perhaps some garnish? Extremely disappointed and way over priced for what you get. Never returning there

My husband and I have chosen Ox & Fin for date night twice since we moved to Eugene — both times, we have been impressed with the atmosphere, food quality and service. Places like Oregon Electric Station or Ambrosia may seem like they would be a superior setting for a romantic dining experience, don’t be too quick to dismiss Ox & Fin because of its tucked away location in the Oakway Center. While it doesn’t feature any spectacular view(you’re likely to be looking into a next door pottery shop if you’re seated by the window), the décor is modern, yet cozy and slightly rustic. My advice is to ask for a booth as opposed to a table. The food is just the right balance of simple yet still sophisticated and interesting. I get tired of the trendy«kale salad» type of menu items or restaurant fare that seems to be trying so hard to be different that it doesn’t even sound appetizing — the menu at Ox & Fin seems to steer clear of such options. You are likely to find something to suit any type of palate here. Both times I have chosen the diver Scallops — they were so good the first time, I had to give them another shot. Although plated differently the second time, they were, once again, perfectly done. My husband has had a variation of a steak both times and has been pleased. The drinks are average prices, and some of the cocktails are fun — I had a grapefruit cosmo last time and would recommend it. The service is commendable. There is much to be said for a restaurant that values professionalism and prompt service, and that is what we have experienced on both visits. On our most recent trip, we were«those people» and asked to be moved from a window table to a cozier looking booth after we received our drinks. Our waitress not only helped us to move right away, but did so with a great attitude, then continued to check on us regularly for the rest of our meal. The manager came by to ask how our dinner was going. Other restaurants, like Oregon Electric Station, could really take a lesson from the employees here. Good service will keep customers coming back, and we will be back to Ox & Fin!

Since my last review a couple weeks ago my boyfriend and I have been back here at least 3 times. The service and food has continued to be just as good as the first time we came in! Tonight we made another reservation but decided to come early and eat at the bar instead. First, I love how you can see the open kitchen, the cooks have a great flow with each other and really seem to care about their food. I watched them plate our steak and it was absolutely beautiful! Second, our server/bartender Erin was amazing! She was funny, helpful, friendly. Amazed every single time we come in here that before a couple weeks ago we had never been in before. Can’t recommend this place enough to anyone looking for great steaks, pasta, drinks, and service!

Burger lovers check it out — Monday night bacon cheese burger and fries with beer on tap for $ 10.00. Burger was awesome, fries just okay(fry shards), Hop Valley Vanilla porter to top it off made it a fantastic Monday night excursion and a great value — especially considering so many good restaurants around here close on Monday nights. Our server was pretty good. We intended to go in celebration mode and get a fancy cocktail and full meal but she downsold herself when she told us about the burger and brew special.

Went here for an impromptu date night and was thoroughly impressed! I have not truly enjoyed a meal out in a very long time! We started off with the octopus and it was cooked perfectly. I had the diver scallops(absolutely to die for) and my fiancé has the filet. All of it was great from start to finish and our server Rebecca was wonderful and unobtrusive. We hadn’t visited since it changed owners(which was far too long ago) but we’ll now make this a regular stop when we are in town!

Perfect Filet Mignon, Ribeye, and hanger steak. The demi glacé with the filet was excellent. We also enjoyed the cheese plate and both the bread pudding and lemon meringue, all fantastic. Service was friendly and good, albeit it was a slow weekday night so I can not speak to how it might be when it is busier. All around, highly recommended if you are looking for an upscale dinner.
