We made a reservation for our son’s first birthday about a month in advance. Upon arriving, I noticed that the table we had reserved was located directly next to another party. I asked if I could set up on the gorgeous patio outside, as it was sunny and beautiful, and it was no problem. The gentleman who assisted me initially was on his lunch break at the time. It appeared to be of little to no concern to him and he politely assisted me and answered all of my questions. Everyone ordered food and drinks, and everyone was thoroughly pleased. They have tasty pizza, brews, etc. Very accommodating and flexible staff. Thanks for helping make our event what it was. Our entire family had a blast.

The kids have fun here. That’s about what it’s good for. Our family goes and gets pizza and then we play at the mini golf course in front of it.

This has been my favorite pizza place since I was a kid(I had all my bday parties there as a kid) and now, it’s my kids’ favorite. The pizza is amazing! And recently, I was told by one of their employees(when I called to order a pizza to be delivered) that my home is out of their delivery zone but they still delivered, as they had done it in the past. I even called back and spoke to the manager on duty to thank him for breaking the rules for me. Our favorite pizza is the Santiam… delish! I highly recommend Roaring Rapids!

Reading thru the review for Roaring Rapids, I agree with most poor rated reviews. Location and fun factor for kids 5stars! Common. . An indoor merry go round, even my 14yr old enjoyed it! Along the river.. Gorgeous! Pizza.. Eh. We got the all meat pizza. I have to be honest. .didn’t love the crust. That being said reviews with 5stars rave about it. So maybe it comes down to prefrence.. I would recommend trying it. If nothing else the kids will have fun and they have Bud light on tap Would we go back.. For the pizza No For the merry go round and view.. Maybe For the mini golf course out front.. Absolutely

5 stars for the setting by the river. 4 stars for the carousel and arcade. 3 stars for the food. Pizza seemed over priced to me. If I ever come back I might try the salad bar. Although I doubt that we’re going to come back because the hubby did not like the food That all.

I love this restaurant. I always have, ever since it was Pietro’s. So it brings back a ton of childhood memories to ride the merry-go-round, even now. I love local businesses that have been around for a long time and are well established. I am the world’s pickiest eater. I’m constantly making substitutions to everything and changing it. The staff at Roaring Rapids are always more than willing to take care of my needs and they always get it right. Perfection is their motto, for sure. I know they mess up pizza, as everyone does, but it’s rare here. I enjoy their salad bar. It’s always fresh and well stocked, never messy. They really go out of their way to help and take care of their customers. The restaurant is quite large, which caters to groups and children. I’ve used one of their side rooms for a group before and it works perfectly. Again, they are super helpful and accommodating. But they have small tables near the fireplace as well, which is perfect if there’s only one or two people. The pizza is wonderful. The crust is always crispy without being overdone. I like that they typically use a light amount of sauce. I am not a fan of lots of sauce. They know their repeat customers quite well and have perfected certain orders, which is impressive. The delivery is always quick, even on busy nights. The parking lot is huge, with a mini golf course and extra meeting/group room as well, with a gorgeous view of the river. Summertime eating outside is amazing. I also go every 4th of July to watch the fireworks. It’s a perfect view. This is a restaurant I’ve been coming to for almost 30 years and will still be returning for another 30.

Great service, good pizza, best view of the river in town… hands down! Plus mini golf! A great place for meetings, dates or the whole family. Kids love the carousel! It’s the real deal.

I really wanted to like this place because our family friend loves it and raved about it and so wanted me to try it. She has been coming here since she was a teenager maybe that is why she likes it. I am new to Eugene and so finding an amazing pizza place was my goal. I am so sad I cannot support this one. I, however, was SONOTIMPRESSED. First of all, the location is cute perfect for 5 yo and under birthday parties… no others. Cute game room with Carousel. Definitely caters to kids and definitely better than Chuck E Cheese in the south of CA. The crust is okay and the view of the river is gorgeous and that is where my good part of the review ends. The salad bar is okay but it is a ONETIMETHROUGH only place. UGH I hate that — seriously? It doesn’t cost you guys that much to do a salad bar and honestly how many people other than me are going to go through several times. But $ 5 is not okay for a one time through venture. IMHO. BOOOOOOOOOOOOORRPC. Next — I didn’t want to get that tiny itty bitty individual pizza so even though there was a $ 7.50 or something special for an individual pizza(with two toppings only I think) and a trip through the salad bar with their TINY plate I wasn’t having that. I opted to not get a salad, which my weight doesn’t thank you for, and instead get a reasonable size pizza. I got the SMALL pizza… it is only slightly bigger than the individual pizza but offers 6 slices. Ummmmmmmmmmm it was $ 17. AREYOUFREAKINGKIDDINGME? Not only was it $ 17 but it was subpar at best. I am a pizza LOVER so it was strange but I never even finished the left overs and had to throw them away. Go figure… what a waste. Dad loved the salad bar even though it was only one time through. He said that it was okay for him at $ 5 or $ 6 or whatever it was and he truly piled his plate high. I thought he was reminiscing his college days of fitting whatever he could on one plate. HA! Mom and our friend each had that special and for them it worked. For me – come on – I like pizzas with toppings so 2 toppings won’t work for me. I just simply wasn’t impressed. The worst part is that I asked for peppers and cheese and instead of the pizza deliverer getting it for me so pointed out where in the room I could get them myself. I asked for a box and instead of getting one for me she told me to go to the counter myself. What ever happened to customer service. THEN on top of all of that everyone else had finished eating before my pizza came out(even the other two that got little pizzas) and they weren’t even busy. I know a lot of people like this place and I will go for miniature golf — but not for pizza. I will go to Papa’s, Figaros or Track Town before here ANYDAY! Sorry…

If your looking for a place that does not offer you plates with your pizza you have found it. They do have a merry-go-round that needs paint and only seems to run after you ask several times. Staff are friendly, but the drink servers are suspicious of patrons they are a little rude and checking receipts multiple times. Food is ok and they do have nice seating out side.

The atmosphere is great here for family and kids and tables outside. but there pizza was not good. They had a decent salad bar and staff was friendly. To bad there pizza wasn’t as good as everything else there.

We ate the lunch buffet(all you can eat pizza). Staff was very friendly and helpful. The salad bar was great and everything was fresh, the problem was the pizza. The pizza looked like it had been sitting out for a long time. Even when they brought out new pizza it looked like it had been sitting around. It tasted like a frozen oven pizza that I let sit on my kitchen table for a couple hours.

The best pizza in town! The first place I ate pizza in 1968 and still my choice. The crust is thin and crisp. They have a carrousel and a view of the Willamette river.

These guys serve a crisp crust pizza. They are the crispiest I have been able to find in the Eugene area. It quickly become obvious that customer service is important to this company. The staff was on point and the food was excellent. I really appreciated the salad bar too… Fresh… Chilled… And giant salad plates! Overall a great dining experience. My five year old loved it too. Thank you.

it might just be time for some updating. Every time we are here it is packed, so cash is coming in. It just seems like they are waiting for the lease to expire or something. The pizza was so-so. I had the basic pepperoni, had to drain some grease but the crust was good and tasty. There were lots of kids… and then some more kids. pretty cramped when everyone is running around. if you can get to the back you have more room, or go outside. But the kid noise is pretty loud outside too. It is a pizza place so kids are expected! We eat here every few years out of nostalgia.

First and last time going, honestly don’t see the point in multiple order windows. Enjoyed seating on outside patio, pizza crust tasted similar to frozen pizza, sauce was was comparable to spegati from can. Not impressed, will never go back until its different restaurant. Why do they not bring plates with pizza? Should have checked Unilocal b4 eating.

Been coming to this location for 35 years, back when Pietro’s had the outdoor train. I come back for two reasons — the outdoor dining experience and the crust. Expect a family — think lots of kids — and expensive dining experience. I grew up and still order Hawaiian and Taco Pizza. I’m waiting for this location to be sold to developers — river views are prime.

C’mon now, you know you shouldn’t be expecting good pizza from this place. Its for kids’ birthday parties! Its like going to the movies and expecting tasty and fair priced popcorn and snacks. This place is more of an indoor play gym and birthday palace for kids. The food is where they get ya. And I could(and probably will) copy and paste this review for the following other«Pizza Restaurants»: Putters, Pappy’s, Papa’s. Lame game room. Uninspired pizza, uninspired salad bar. I would expect much more from a place on the river. The building is quite nice. I haven’t done the golf there. Maybe that would make a difference in my view of this place on a nice day outside. I would expect this to be my top choice for my kids party, but I think Putter’s takes it(as far as kid friendly Pizza Places go).

It’s hard to give this place an accurate star rating but here is my attempt. Roaring Rapids is designed for kids, and if you’re a parent who wants to sit outside enjoying the great view of the Willamette enjoying a good beer while the kids excite themselves to weariness, then this is probably a great spot for you. However, the food is mediocre. Pesto Chicken pizza left a lot to be desired, the crust was especially bizarre, to be fair I did smell and see some other more appetizing pizzas go by so maybe it was just a poor choice. They do have live music throughout the summer(I think) and the Joe Manis trio were incredible. I would go anywhere his band are playing… But as a dining destination, this is not the spot.

As far as pizza goes… This place is awesome. It has a huge parking lot with a mini golf course and event center. Its located right on the river with beautiful river view and outside seating. Also lots of large tables inside for the whole family… and extend family… and a few friends. Pizza is very tasty and I believe they’re jumping on the gluten free trend. Not a ton of healthy choices, but they do have salads and such. Missing the fair? Want to go on a real(HUGE) carousel? They have one… inside. It really is amazing. Built in 1908(and hopefully updated a few times) this is really a site to see.
