S.A.R.A.’s Treasures

Sara’s is a very idealistic place.
While I believe in cat rescue and rescued, spayed and placed many cats over the years, S.A.R.A’s is more interested in ideas than rescue.
They leave kittens unplaced rather then letting willing and capable homes rescue just one; that’s right, you have to take 2.
Disappointing that they have chosen their own ideas rather than pet placement.

I love S.A.R.A.‘s! Such a great little place, it is where I donate all my new and used unwanted stuff for benefit of the kitties! I have shopped there quite a bit and found clothes, school supplies, kitchen wares, rings, and of course, animal stuff!
I always recommend starting thrift shopping here before anywhere else!
I hope they can expand and get a larger space for all the good stuff and the roaming cats!

SARA’S Treasures has everything– including wonderful kitties available for adoption! The clothes and household goods are all good quality, and if you’re looking for bargains, there are parking lot sales one Sunday a month all summer long. They also sell top quality pet food and supplies, and are happy to advise you on caring for your own furry friend. The cats at SARA’S receive the best of care until they are adopted. SARA’S is a nonprofit, with all the sales proceeds going to care for the cats.

I have come to this thrift shop a few times over the past several years and have always had a terrific experience. The clothes are high quality, the prices are fair (and often a steal!) and the workers are always kind and courteous.
Today I scored big time on 2 pairs of Ann Taylor slacks that were on clearance, $ 3 for both! Plus another pair of Banana Republic slacks for 50 cents! There were so many nice items in the store that I will definitely be returning soon… oh and they also have a nice selection of toys that my kids love!
The best part is that the money you spend is going to a great cause – saving kitties!

One of my favorite places to shop. The cats are fun to interact with and I always leave with something unique or useful. I love that this store helps animals. Staff and customers are very friendly. I think that for any cat lover… this place is a must.

i sought out SARA’s when I was looking to adopt a kitty. They’re apparently lesser-​known than Greenhill, though I’d heard they feed their cats «better» food. I also love to support a local 501©3.
I called ahead to figure out the adoption process, and told the woman on the phone which cat I was interested in. When I went in, the store workers knew exactly which cat I was there for. They’d been told about my call, and led me back to see the kitty immediately. I fell in love with him and went through a couple interviews — one about my general interests pertaining to cats, and one about the cat himself… how to take care of him (trimming nails, where he shouldn’t sleep), what to feed him, etc. I was given a lot of information about him specifically. For the second interview, I even sat in his cage with him! When I came to pick him up, I was given a bag of treats specific to his interests and some coupons. I went in a month later to buy some food and was asked how he was doing. I received calls about him once a week for a month — how is he? Is anything alarming happening? Whatever trouble I had, they answered my questions accurately and quickly.
Case in point: SARA’s really cares about its kitties. The employees and volunteers know what they’re talking about. Their stuff — food, treats, litter — is a bit pricey, and as a lady on a budget I can’t always shop there — but I know they care deeply about animals and take their time to answer any questions that may arise so their cats are taken care of the best they can be.
P. S. I picked up some really cute earrings while there…

I had to see it to believe it. The place is actually full of kitties: snoozing on the scarves, helping out at the register, monitoring loss prevention from the tops of shelves. They don’t have a huge selection of wares, but he prices are decent — better than some of the bigger chain thrift stores. And they also sell high quality cat food.

Awesome community support for pets. Great thrift store concept. If you are in the neighborhood anyway, you can stop in at the other thrift stores & have a great Chinese meal at Twin Dragon, which isn’t super cheap but it’s GOOD (better than GOOD TASTE was last time I tried them). Make a day of it & definitely stop in at Sara’s Treasures when you are in Santa Clara!!!

Cats! Cats everywhere! I don’t know how I went so long living in Eugene without knowing about this place. It’s a cool thrift shop filled with everything you could ever want (dishes, records, clothes…), but it has way better prices than most thrift shops and everything is in way better shape. There’s a big trunk of ‘last chance’ clothes in front of the store where I’ve found name brand stuff (DKNY, Abercrombie, Gap) for only 50 cents. And have I mentioned it’s full of cats?

SARA’s Treasures and SARA itself as an organization is an amazing thing!!! We have always been proud to support them anytime we can. In fact, we adopted two kitties from them many years ago before we were even residents of Oregon. One of the kitties who was not available while we were visiting the Eugene area, became available a couple of weeks after we had left. I had requested if anything fell through to let me know and sure enough, I was on the road to do a «quick kitty pick-​up turn around trip» from San Francisco to Eugene and back!!! Love has no limits when it comes to an awesome pet.
SARA’s Treasures has a wonderful selection of merchandise that obviously supports a great cause. ALL of the dedicated staff and volunteers are amazing angels!!! We have always been amazed at the selection of goods and great deals that we have found at SARA’s Treasures. It is probably a good thing that I live so far away now, or I’d be surrounded by kitties. Now, I just encourage others to adopt and provide support for organizations that go the extra mile. SARA is just such a place.
Eugene is very fortunate to have a place like SARA. They set the standard for what an organization should be and how it should be operated. In a purrfect world, we wouldn’t have to rescue cats at all, but since this is a cold fact of life, it warms my being to know that SARA is there.

Great store! Clean and well organized. It’s not the biggest shop, but there is always new stuff for sale. Everything you buy is in great shape (no snags, stains, chips, etc), and the prices are the best in town for second-​hand merchandise.
Plus: The store is home to rescued cats who are up for adoption. Your purchase raises money for their rescue program. You can tell the staff really cares about the cats and takes great care of them.
