Whatever you do don’t ask for crackers. I won’t ever eat here again. I get that you may think your soup is so delicious that you defy a person’s desire or request for saltines. But sometimes there are other reasons for asking for darn crackers and being told by snooty servers to use the bread instead just took me back and really offended me. My husband just had a surgical procedure and felt super nauseated and had not eaten anything all day out of being nervous. I remembered seeing soup nation and thought that might be a good bet for his stomach. And adding some saltines might be a gentle filler. There are I am sure a hundred other reasons people might like to add crackers to their soup-memories or fond times eating Grandma’s soup, the added extra crunch, family traditions whatever it is-get over yourselves!

We love Soup Nation. It’s always an adventure, seeing what soup is available though one may look this up online. Try any soup before getting a bowl if you’re unsure. We love the soup and the bread(whole wheat sourdough) is to die for! We like the cozy, simple atmosphere and feel comfortable coming here alone or with a group. Great find in Eugene!

Really wanted to like this place. Came for lunch and got the grilled cheese and soup as well as a salad/soup/bread combo. Very overpriced for the portion sizes. Soup was okay but nothing special. Their homemade wheat sourdough was stale. Have a generous tip before realizing they don’t even bring the food to your table and you have to bus yourself. There are better options for lunch at a better price in the area.

I ordered the 3 cheese tomato and my husband had mushroom barley and we both had the pesto pasta salad. All of the ingredients were fresh but the execution was lacking. My soup was overly salty and his was boring. To compensate we added hot sauce. The salad needed salt. Presentation was quite nice and the space itself was pleasant. We will not be returning, my tomato basil soup I make at home from scratch is much better.

Went to Soup Nation after seeing the TV show segment on it. Worthwhile, great soups and sandwiches. Perfect for lunch.

My husband and I were looking forward to eating at Soup Nation. We read great reviews and followed up from«DDD»! Unfortunately, we arrived on a Saturday for early lunch. The soups were all in large pots, but cold. They microwaved our soups, but on a cold rainy day, my chili was Luke warm and they had no onions or shredded cheese for toppings. I’m very disappointed!

Good Soup and Bread. My wife had the carribean yam. It was delicious. I had a jamacian red beans and rice. It was good, but could of use more spices. For 2 large bowls and 2 ice teas. With bread and butter $ 18. Kind of pricey.

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile now and finally made it in. I was excited because of the positive reviews. I ordered the soup and sandwich combo. I got the blue velvet soup and the chicken salad sandwich on croissant. I don’t know maybe it was an off day, or I ordered the wrong things, but this was very, very average at best… Bummer! I love good soup, really, really love it… but this just did not hit the spot. I moat likely won’t be back, just didn’t like it enough with the other food options close by that are really good. Sorry Soup Nation, not for me.

I have been to soup nation several times and had an excellent variance. However, on Saturday my friends and I stop by at 3 p.m. They had already put the soup on ice, but served it o us anyway. It was lukewarm. When we ask for them to heat it up, they said they couldn’t take it back across the counter. How absolutely disappointing. Then, as if cold soup was not bad enough, they proceeded to start cleaning the restaurant. When they began moving the tables and chairs a loud screeching sound filled the small. Not very relaxing or enjoyable. Your grade C-.

Quick and quality food that won’t make you feel like garbage. They offer quite a few gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and dairy free options. I’m a fan of the lentil soup. They also have GF cheesy cornbread. If you can eat dairy, they look delicious!

On a cold rainy Eugene day I can’t recommend anything more than Soup Nation! I had the three soup sampler and it was a ton of food. Not only do you get three delicious soups(I had the 3 Cheese Tomato, Potato Parmesan and Mama’s Italian Chicken) but also a huge chuck of hearty bread for dipping. I also had a Mexican hot chocolate that was well done. All in all a great lunch stop!

First time ever trying Soup Nation today for lunch. I ordered the 3 cheese tomato, and I have to say, it is very good. So thick and creamy, just the way I like my tomato soups. Could use a little more tomato flavor, the cheeses are definitely apparent! The soups come with a nice thick chuck of bread, which is also delicious! I love that they have menu items other than soup, like; sandwich options, coffee and teas, brownies and cookies, etc. If you’re a soup lover, Soup Nation is worth a try!

This place was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives not too long ago, which I actually had no idea about until I showed up and saw the host’s stamp of approval on the wall. I’ve actually looked up the place before, but went recently on the suggestion of a co-worker because I’ve been hunting for a great soup and salad kinda spot here and it’s vegan-friendly. I’m not vegan, but am always on the lookout for my roomies. The service was great. The girl who helped me choose my meal was super knowledgable and good with suggestions, which I love when I try a new spot out. I tried their a rice coconut curry soup and the 3 P’s with turkey(soup and sandwich combo). I felt like both were good, but I wasn’t amazed. But I feel like I’d like to come back and give it another shot, because honestly, I wasn’t super hungry when I came and was in a hurry during my lunch break. I think parking is all street and everything was moderately priced.

Awesome place, cool location. Dining room is too small for how good the food is and how many of you should flock here. First sandwich was messed up, but the staff quickly and surely compensated with a new sandwich and free soup. Classic great service! Fresh and fast. What more can you ask for? Nothing I say. Come here for lunch, dinner, or not at all but don’t say I didn’t tell you so.

The soups are mostly good but some are much better then others and a few are very bland/under-seasoned. The portion size and food quality are good and the employees are friendly. The mostly bland soups I have tried so far were the minestrone, chipotle chicken chili and red beans and rice. A few of the better soups are the french onion, creamy chicken artichoke, and chicken mole soup. Also the chicken gumbo is very good.

Yummy soup! The tomato soup is delicious. It is very self serve, order, pick up order and then bus your own tables. Staff could be friendlier. I will return because of the tomato soup. But to go

I would call soup nation a Crappy version of panera bread. Underwhelming and just a bit overpriced. Wife had the 3 soup sampler. Three cheese tomato tasted pretty good. The chicken tarragon was… meh. Like a chicken noodle with mushrooms. Third she had the broccoli cheddar. It tasted like when I buy it from costco and freeze it for 6 months and nuke it in the mike. I dabbled through a soup and sammy combo. I sampled the Tuscan white bean soup. Very bland and needs more seasoning. Turkey bacon and provolone sammy was pretty good on a nice flaky croissant. Nice lettuce and some decent tomato. Would love more bacon but I still enjoyed it. Saw on the wall that guy fieti had eaten here… kind of cool. Curious now about the diners drive ins and dives episode. Small venue with tables pushed a bit to close together. Loved the live full size tree inside, gives it a good vibe. Would I go back? Not so sure.

Soup feeds the soul as much as the body. The long, dreary winters in the PNW are tailored for a soup restaurant, so Soup Nation ought to be a smash. Mostly it is. DLW is also a soup fan, and this place is in our regular weekend rotation for lunch places. There are at least a half dozen on offer every day, from familiar to exotic. You can get a three-bowl sampler with bread, or a combo with salad or sandwich. Most recent trip had French onion and Thai sweet potato. Former avoided the pitfalls of most onion soups — not greasy, overly cheesy or bready — and latter was like a pureed curry. Quinoa salad and meatloaf sandwich also hit the spot. They are probably quite busy on weekday lunches, and the place only holds about 40. It’s great having this as an option on weekends, especially with fall now in full swing.

Ok, I am a fan now. After a few weeks of rough times at work, with the need for very short lunch breaks, I’ve given Soup Nation a new lease on life. And I have to tell you, things are better*. Much, much better. I typically opt for the sandy and salad combo, with the turkey — provolone croissant and the green salad with balsamic. Is it changing the world? No. but it’s consistent, lightning fast, high quality, and a great lunch for $ 8.95. *Still haven’t tried the soups, so can’t attest to the salt content.
