Really not impressed with this place. We had the WORST service yesterday night. The waiters were standing around talking, instead of getting us what we requested(ranch and a refill). This is absolutely the worst place in Eugene. I was expecting better service when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. GOANYWHEREBUTHERE.

If you want to come get a front row seat of your waiter lolly gag and talk to his co-workers, this is the place for you. Horrible service with sub-par food. Don’t ask the waiters what they think about the food because they don’t even know what’s going on.

Been here a few times. The place is usually pretty hopping. Has outdoor seating as well which is great in the summers. Good beer menu and pretty good food. There’s a pretty good variety of seating options which is kind of fun. Tall tables or short. Regular seats or padded ones you’d expect to find in a house. Worth a visit.

It’s a decent brewery restaurant and a Eugene treasure. Be aware of the parking in back though – if you plan on staying longer than parking signs say(i think it’s 3 hours?). I pub crawled from Steelhead across the street to Tap & Growler and found a ticket on my car from the private parking lot owners Diamond – basically a way for them to make money – be aware so it doesn’t cost you $ 30 bucks which is better spent on craft beer.

I am a fan of this place, especially when it’s warm and sun it out. Sitting outside and having a good meal and a couple of great beers it just great. They have great beers and really good food, the service is not the best I have had but they get the job done. I really go for the outside seating and great beer anyway. A must try if your in Eugene and like good beer and atmosphere.

Had their beer flight and some grub on a late evening outing. Good collection of beers, their orange hefeweizen called a bit of attention as it was almost an orange cocktail with beer. Hummus was decent. Their breaded chicken wings were average and so were their barbeque chicken and greek pizzas. Would conclude that their beers and food are average as I was in conversation with a buddy and neither the food nor the beers really broke the flow of the conversation to call attention — either in a good way or bad way! Their service was good with cheerful, informed waiters that seemed to love what they do even at the end of the evening.

We had our dog so had to sit outside. I went to let a server know because it was a seat yourself place. I also took the menus… she didn’t even offer them to me. We had our timer on for 10mins and our server came with 20 sec to spare. That pretty much set the tone unfortunately. Food was fine and cooked how we wanted it. And the people we dealt with were very friendly with the exception of the first person. Not bad but they could have been better.

Sat at the bar, which has pretty limited seating, and got immediate attention. Really enjoyed the craft brew list, there were many to chose from. Tried the Red again and this time I really enjoyed it, just the right amount of toastiness that I expect with a Red. Almost went for the signature pizza but at the last minute swerved to the fish tacos(offered fried or seared). I found them to be tasty served with cabbage, not too much, tomatoes, and avocado. I was super hungry and the three of these filled me up. Special note for the thrifty, if you order the signature pizza your beer is included.

The beer is awesome. So many times you go to a brewery and a couple of the beers are OK, and the rest not so hot, but here they were all spot on. The food was a great surprise also. Everything, including atmosphere was a 5.

Meh. Could use a food update, most of the food was frozen or packaged. Felt more like an Applebee’s. Much better breweries in Eugene.

Nice place… the service was great, the food was good, and the bar/restaurant looks cool. The hot mustard is legit! I had a Meniscus IPA and a James Blonde. I didn’t care for the IPA, a little sweet for my liking, but the James Blonde is very refreshing! All in all good stuff!

I don’t frequent this establishment and I think it is due to the fact I am always disappointed. Our waitress was prompt but really could care less if we were there or not. She was cold, rude and generally had no emotion at all. The drinks are good, it is difficult to mess that up. Their craft beer is also very tasty. The food is why I give this place 2 stars. My fish sandwich was wet and covered my plate with a puddle. The fish prefer water before they are overcooked. As I ate my sandwich slowly lost all its body and became a flat pancake whose insides slowly slid out every time I sat it down on my saturated plate. The coleslaw was lacking flavor and looked quite old. The fish tacos were a severe disappointment to my husband. The grilled fish was significantly overcooked and very rubbery. The guacamole was not homemade! We believe it was out of a tube, and tasted eerily like taco bell’s green slime. We are sadly disappointed again. There is lack of care in this establishment, for the patrons and the food. The food just was not cooked well and lacked the excitement of hand crafted homemade food they continue to boast about.

I like fly fishing and beer so when we happened by this place on an inviting corner with wood and stuffed easy chairs it seemed like a no brainer. The Twisted Meniscus IPA was light on the hops for my taste but passable. My fish & chips were supposed to be Pacific halibut but were suspiciously closer to Tilapia fillets and dark over-fried at that. Combined with OK fries and tartar sauce that had the sheen of left out dryness on it, I passed on additional beer and headed for the exit. The service was overwhelmed by ¾ crowd to the point where buying a t-shirt was impossible(cool logo) but just as well given my bleh memory of this place.

I’m trying to leave a fair review, but I was in a bad mood when we visited. We actually intended to go to The Granary down the street but discovered they had closed for good. We were hungry and still in the mood for pizza so we popped in here. They did have a few pizzas on the menu so that’s what we ordered. They were fine. Nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about. Neither of us tried any beer so I can’t comment on that. Our server was very friendly though. I did feel like the food was a bit overpriced. Overall I’m not dying to come back, but I might to try some beverages. It seems like a good place to get drinks and snacks.

As I’ve mentioned in earlier reviews, I’m not a beer aficionado. This review reflects ambiance, service, and food quality. My brother and sister-in-law were visiting. I wanted a brewery for my brother, but a more sophisticated atmosphere for my sister-in-law. Steelhead seemed to fit the bill. Two of us ordered the Greek Burger, and the third ordered a full house salad. We all enjoyed our meals, but the food took a very long time to arrive. We were one of only three tables and it was 15+ minutes after we’d ordered food before we began eating. The atmosphere of Steelhead is its biggest draw. Large wingback chairs make an interesting — and delightful — dining experience. Portions were average — though the full house salad was actually quite large. Prices are also average for what you receive. Our server was friendly, but not very attentive.

Steelhead has found a way of totally ruining Duck Game Day? How can you have 15TV’s and maybe 20 customers with a home game less than a mile away? Let me tell you how — Being out of your best beer Bombay Bomber, and have the WORST game day menu in town!!! Steelhead is a senior citizens game day spot!!! Don’t waist your time going to Steelhead on game day

I wanted to like this place but I’m sadly disappointed, dissatisfied, and truly offended that an establishment would serve anything so burnt to a paying customer! My waiter Joseph was friendly any checked in on us but never asked how the food was:/ I made the mistake of presuming that the beef was fresh because the bun is advertised as fresh and I was asked how I would like it cooked. Slightly pink is how! But why even ask if if the kitchen is going to do whatever they see fit. I might be more understanding of the place was packed but 10 tables of two to three isn’t busy what so ever. Now I’m at an R5 concert with my 13 year old daughter, as you can imagine it extremely busy!!! Guess I’m not eating tonight. Oh any my fries were lukewarm at best:(

Met some really nice guys who worked at the Steelhead Brewery, so I stopped in for a drink at the bar. I lived outside of London for a few years so I appreciate a pub like bar on a cold dark day. This place reminded me a little bit of that. Sitting at the bar, you can see where they make their beer which is very cool. I ended up sitting here and chatting with the bartender and some friends over an IPA and a Kolsch. Loved the IPA(not so much the Kolsch – but oh well!). If you go here, you MUST get the ginger ale. They make it in house and it is to die for!

My coworkers and I walked along the river to come here for dinner and beer. We sat out front, but walking through, the inside looked ok — dark wood and easy chairs. The food was very good. I got a chicken taco salad that was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. They brew there own and I got an orange heff(well, two) that was super refreshing after our long walk. It had a strong orange flavor and went down easy like Sunday morning. Our server Jill was super. There were four of us and we were waiting for someone to join us. She took our drink orders and continued to check on us. One of us needed to go — so she ordered her food before us. The rest of us needed separate tickets. Basically — we were a pain. Jill took it all in stride with a smile and was a fantastic server.

Steelhead was fairly full during lunchtime on a Sunday earlier this month. The place itself feels like a dated industrial sports bar. Throw in some comfy big crazy-printed chairs that look like they could be straight from 1991 and you have an interesting dining setting. I didn’t really understand the Steelhead/McKenzie beer names. Even when you check in on Untappd, both brands pop up. Nonetheless, my Twisted Meniscus IPA was okay, but I’d likely try a different beer if I ever return one day. Also, what a terrible name for a beer. Ouch! On the food front, I first ordered a «starter» salad because I was feeling a bit more hungry than usual that day. I figured it would be a, you know, small salad. But, no. It was quite huge. I boxed most of it, and that may be the first time I’ve seriously boxed a starter salad at a restaurant. Ah, well. It was good. For my meal, I ordered the chicken ciabatta sandwich and requested the spicy dijon on the side. I ended up liking the sauce after all and dipped it in the otherwise not-that-exciting fries. The chicken sandwich itself was very good, but I could only finish half of it. So, in other words, yes — Steelhead was my lunch *and* dinner on that Sunday. Prices were fair, too. Exceptional if you’re a semi-light eater and you think of it as two meals in one! While maybe not my favorite place on my Oregon travels, this brewery/restaurant still certainly is worth a visit. It’s charming in its own way.
