I tried Saucy Burger a few times and I *really* wanted to like it, but I finally had to give up. On the one hand, they’re smart to use frozen, pre-​cooked patties — it allows them to serve quickly and not have to worry about doneness. But on the other hand, the texture of the meat is off just enough that it can’t be masked by the otherwise enjoyable ingredients.
Also, their schedule is erratic. It’s understandable since they’re college students, but it doesn’t work well from a customer point of view.
It’s great to see young entrepreneurs making a go at something like this, and I really enjoy supporting such efforts with my lunch dollars. But I’m not sure Saucy Buger has what it takes.
