The good? The pizza because it is Pizza Joint, have to love those large slices, I have eaten at the other one in Augusta and it would get a lot higher rating than this one. The bad and how bad to where I felt the need to give it a one star rating? The service and especially the bartenders. Truly bad enough to the point that I have to give it one star. Not only is the issue with the food taking a long time to be made, it is with the attitude of the bartenders. I walked in and waited behind a college aged kid who was waiting to order, we were both getting it to go. The bartender(a blonde) was on the cellphone for at least two minutes while the poor guy was still waiting in line. I ask him if he has ordered and he says no, seems like the bartender is busy with something. I finally tell the bartender who takes the orders, she looks up and rolls her eyes, and then finally takes the order. All I did was ask her to do her job. Then after taking the order, she goes back to texting and giving off the facial expression of not wanting to be there. A guy bartender(middle aged with button up shirt) comes over and the two start chatting about whatever, guess they hate it when those rude customers come in and place orders for pizza. So about 50 minutes later the pizza arrives for the guy that came before me. After he gets up to leave and goes out of the door, the guy bartender starts mocking him as the blonde laughs, I found it disgusting. Shortly after that, mines arrives and the blonde looks at me and says«there’s your pizza, have a nice day!» smiling as her eyes stare sharply at me. The two start laughing, guess I missed a joke. I know bartending is supposed to be a job you can brag to your friends about but guys, you’re not exactly bartending at a nightclub or an upscale bar where the rich go so why not drop the in crowd and actually treat customers with some decency? Yes, the service and staff at this place are that bad to the point that it gets a 1 star from me. I mean there is bad and then there is just flat out rude and disrespectful, hire better people and better bartenders!

Bottom line up front: I do not recommend this place and we do not plan to go to this place again. We were seated promptly in a seat very close to the bathroom(we didn’t realize how close we were to the can). The waitress came over and asked for our drink orders. The drinks came out relatively quickly. They had a good selection of beer on tap. Something that should satisfy every taste. We made our order and that’s when it all began. Over an hour before we received my calzone. I waited to eat because I was waiting for the rest of my family’s food to arrive. 30 minutes later, the one slice of pizza my wife and daughter ordered showed up. Then about 15 minutes later the flatbread my other daughter ordered showed up. I’m not exaggerating on the time, folks. It was bad form. Once we got the food, my entire family and I agreed that it was ok, at best. My wife’s slice of pizza was luke warm — the tomatoes on top were actually cold. My only hope is that it’s better the second day. Overall, this was a disappointment because I had heard such good things about the place. The wait staff was ok — they apologized for the delay — but by that point, we had already decided it was time to go. Again, I won’t be going back again. There are far too many other places in the area to take the risk on a crappy dining experience.

We just moved to the area, and thought it looked like a cool place, along with locals recommending it! We were very pleased and will definitely be back. Great atmosphere, huge beer selection, and service was great. I read some of the reviews on here before going and was expecting slow service and mediocre food… I found the service to be great, the wait time for food was very reasonable, and the pizza was awesome! Can’t wait to go back soon!

I have experienced bad service here in the past. Came in at 10:00 on a Saturday and seated immediately. Ordered 20″ specialty pizza and beers for two. We were served our drinks promptly and pizza about 30 minutes after ordering. The pizza was delicious and we were checked on by our waitress several times before and after being served our food. Good service even close to closing time! Great place for beer in Evans! The Evans location has ~50 taps, and about 12 of them are local craft beers. The one I wanted was out. but still on the menu. Regardless, the bar is a great place to have a pint and watch a sporting event.

Mayson has to be one of the most respectful and polite servers I have had the pleasure of meeting in some time. He provided my wife and I excellent service with a cheerful attitude and never without a smile. Thumbs up to him.

Great beer selection. Worst pepperoni pizza on the planet. Heartburn is imminent and grease is guaranteed to leak through the pizza box.

We used to go to the Pizza Joint downtown all the time, moved away and came back for a visit. We were in Evans, starving, and the kids were wanting pizza, so we decided to get some good pizza at the Evans Pizza Joint… big mistake! First red flag was there were only a few tables filled, but the group of 6 in front of us were told it would be a 25 minute wait! We were sat immediately(2 adults, 2 kids and a baby). We were waited on pretty quick and didn’t have a chance to look over the menu, so we just ordered the fried mushroom app and two kids pepperoni slices to get started quickly. We let the server know the kids were starving so we wanted their food as quickly as possible. The server was nice, brought the kids Shirley Temples, but had forgotten her pad when she brought them, so she was trying to remember our order… we added 4 – 5 toppings to different slices, so I asked her if she wanted to grab her pad, she did and apologized — up to this point, no issues… And then we sat… And sat… And sat some more… The server would look at us and look away, going around a different way to avoid us while she was seated at other tables. And still we sat… no info, no excuses, no apology, no interaction at all… Other tables were getting their food… we noticed the pizza didn’t look like it used to. it was thick with a fat crust… another red flag? Maybe… we will never know, since we never got our food. We were also told the slices were about half the size they used to be… again, no idea if that’s the case or not. After 45 minutes, we finally got the mushroom app and were told the kids slices were in the oven and it would be about another 10 minutes on the other slices! I asked to see the manager. My husband watched the server talk to the manager… then the manager went to the cooks… finally, after 5 more minutes, the manager comes over… but I was done by then. I had popped one mushroom in my mouth and it was like shoe rubber dipped in batter and barely fried… completely inedible and I was starving! When the manager came over, we were already packing up and leaving… my 3 year old was crying like crazy because she was starving and wanted pizza… it was awful. The manager started by apologizing and asking if she could do anything. I said we’ve been waiting for kids pepperoni slices and fried mushrooms for over 45 minutes… she then proceeded to tell me that everything is made fresh… ummm, excuse me? So every other pizza place in the country is capable of getting whole pizzas, pizza slices, fried apps, and any other food out of their kitchen in under 20 – 30 minutes, but the almighty Pizza Joint«makes everything fresh» and therefore it takes over an hour! That’s right… an hour and NOFOOD. An hour with less than 1⁄3 of the tables filled and no food. An hour and barely a response from our server and then we are told they make it fresh? Bullshit. They were slices of pizza. Even if you had to make the whole pizza, then cut it, add our toppings, and cook it again… yeah, 20 minutes, TOPS. With a practically empty restaurant. I don’t know if the server forgot to put our order in or it fell behind the oven or what happened… why? Because I was told they make it fresh. I’ve waited tables for many years. I know shit happens. I can roll with that. Just be straight about it. I cannot listen to bullshit. I’m not an idiot. Regardless of what the issue was, that manager was in the wrong. Making food fresh is NOEXCUSE. For future issues, put a little pep in your step before the customer gives up on thinking you are coming, OWNTHEISSUE — don’t make a stupid excuse about it being fresh, and act like you actually give a crap about a customer walking out! We wish we had a chance to try the pizza… looks like it’s changed. Used to be good. Definitely avoid the fried mushroom appetizer… just awful. I’m guessing our issue is probably pretty common because that manager was not even a little upset… or maybe it never happens and so she just had no clue how to address it? I don’t plan on ever finding out if that was a singular or recurring problem. No Pizza Joint in our future…

been here once & ate in. we were seated immediately but the wait for the pizza was around an hour. we ordered garlic knots to keep our tummies from grumbling in the meantime but didn’t get those – our server cancelled them when he realized the pizza was going to be out around the same time, which was appreciated. the pizza was good and they let us split the toppings half and half. however, it DEFINITELY wasn’t «new york style» as advertised as on the awnings out front, as it’s not the gigantic super thin variety with a delicious crispy crust that i’ve had in new york. maybe georgians don’t know any better, but you’re playing a dangerous game with all the well-traveled military families stationed at fort gordon that live in the area. the server was really nice, though visibly overworked. they could definitely use some more staff on the weekends. they do an active duty military discount but i didn’t see it advertised anywhere – our very astute server noticed my husband’s navy federal bank card and told us about it, which was super nice of him! it’s really not bad, and we’ll certainly be back, but it’s not what i was expecting based on how the restaurant describes itself & the wait suuuucked.

«It’s going to be a whole lot more time.» This was the response to a question regarding the status of entrees after 40 minutes of waiting. That should tell you how this review is going to go. Saturday night around 7 pm with a party of nine is the background for our visit to Pizza Joint. With no reservation we knew it was going to take a while, so 30 minutes isn’t outside the realm of expectation. However, once seated, things didn’t speed up from there. It took a while to get drinks, then the appetizer took 20 minutes followed closely by the salads. So now we’re at the aforementioned 40 minutes whereat I ask when our entrees were coming out. «Oh, yeah. it’s going to be a whole lot more time» was the response. First time in my life anyone has told me that at a restaurant. Thankfully it actually wasn’t that much longer. Was the wait worth the delicacies that followed? Ah, no. It was pretty standard food: I had the Deluxe Boli… shmeh. The pizza looked greasy. And the garlic knots were pretty tasteless with a red sauce that probably came out of a Chef Boyardee can. Lots of time and minimal taste buds? Here’s your place.

There is so much good to say about this place. The Pizza Joint is a great stop for great food and chill environment. As as you enter the resturant you get greeted by the host who has awesome customer service. All the waiters are awesome and are on top of there game. Never once did my wife or I had to ask for a refill, they know the menu inside out and make good suggestions and can accommodate your request. The menu is good… the only thing is I wish they had a little more for selections however with that said they have the pizza department cover. The Pizza Joint price are nothing to complain about what so ever. For the amount of food you get is insane. I have not yet finish what I oder at one time. Awesome food, Awesome atmosphere, Awesome costumer service.

Pretty much same as everyone else says. Pizza would have taken an hour so we got appetizers for dinner. Food wasn’t anything special. Even so, I still like the place. The staff is mostly friendly high school kids. The ambience is classic American dive-ish pizza joint. Likable but nothing special.

They have an extensive beer list and the food is good when it arrives on time. We’ve gone here a ton of times over the years… does a single waiter have an accurate beer list, ever? How come only one person, seemingly, works in the kitchen? We actually love this place, but it’s insane how many times we’ve sat down and we were told«pizza(a slice) is gonna take about an hour.» servers are nice… basically apologetic from the get go. Is it a management issue? It has to be, right? If you don’t have enough cooks on a Saturday night to make a slice for every seat, it sounds like a management problem. Also, what happened to the fish tank? It’s a lot easier to keep two kids happy when they have something to look at. Is the other cook buried in there? This is supposed to be the go-to. It should be the go-to. Get your shit together or it’s Mello-Mushroom from here on out.

Stopped in here to get a bite with a friend from Tampa and a few locals. A good place for Pizza and Stromboli’s. Also the beer selection is pretty good. They had Guiness on tap, my favorite. The waiter was helpful and friendly and got our drinks and orders in pretty quick. I had the deluxe boil and it was great. The dough was done up right, and the fillings were to die for. I was hoping they would have Moose Drool beer from Montana but no luck there. Overall good place for beer and pie, check them out if in the area.

Nothing too good about this place. My wife and I wanted some pizza and heard good things about here. The garlic knots weren’t too bad, maybe a little above average. The thing that’s giving this an average review is the pizza was super oily and the pepperonis sucked. They were really small and folded up when cooked

We have gotten take out before on a friend’s recommendation and it was good. Really good in fact. We actually visited this time with a friend from Indiana and had a great time thanks to our silly and fun waiter, James — as well as the hot-yaki wings(not on the menu — but still best wings I have ever had!). I love that this place is a great sports bar, family friendly, reasonable prices, and clean. We will definitely go back in the future!

Good Pizza, better than I remember having years back in Aiken. Met a friend here for lunch with her little girl. The waitress was great with her, coloring a picture of a princess on a plate! We had a half cheese half meat pizza, which I thought was very good. I also ordered some wings while I waited since I was staved! I got them plain, since I’m not into messy sauces. They were well seasoned and still good without the sauce. They came with celery and carrots. There was no hostess at lunch, you come in, grab menus and seat yourself. The menus have seen better days… Free wifi!

If you have read any of my former reviews you will see that I have gone back and forth a number of times on my opinion. Management seems to have shifted a number of times over the last few years and the quality/service has ebbed and flowed. At the end of the day, I still visit this restaurant ever time I am in town. The staff currently in place are great and PJ has some of the best pizza in town. Their happy hour selection and pricing cannot be beat in the Augusta area.

The place has a nice atmosphere and on a nice day good outside seating. Good was average, marinara sauce had a smokey taste to it not really Italian. Pizza had good flavor and great crust nice and thin. Chicken wings were average kind of small. The server was friendly and attentive but food took a long time even though they were not busy. Overall it’s a good place for a quick bite but nothing special

Dropped by with friends after seeing a movie at the theatre across the street. We were about an hour away from closing time, but still received good service. However, we were seated by a door in a peculiar shaped booth which was not ideal for a party of four. I had the Tree Huger pizza slice without onions. I thought it was good. This was my first time at this Pizza Joint location. The restaurant is huge. The bar is also pretty large. They have an outdoor dining area that I’d love to enjoy when the weather gets warmer. Parking was easy breezy. The slices are huge. Use your hands and don’t cut your pizza like a certain Unilocaler that shall remain anonymous.

Bleh. Came here tonight visiting my family members from Charlotte and left wanting more. The place was packed but the wait was only about 15minutes. The menu is small but simple. Overall, the food was pretty good. A family member got the spaghetti kids meal with meatballs… It arrived with no meatballs. When she got her correct plate, her food was not hot or even warm. And then we had to ask for her garlic rolls and the server kept telling us that her meal did not come with them even though the menu clearly stated that it came with garlic bread. Whatever, dude. Everyone else loved the Stromboli and Pizza though! I got«The Stromboli» and added spinach– Delicious! The service is why I give it 2 stars. The hostesses are not very accommodating– I mean atleast fake a smile. Our server wasn’t very attentive to refills and it took us15 minutes from the time the last person ate to get our check. I guess our server went on break but someone else should’ve covered his section.
