If it were possible to give zero stars, I would. After many years as a satisfied client, this place has become unreliable and inaccessible. I blame the opening of their physical location in Evanston. Computer fixes that aren’t fixed, unreturned calls and emails. Terrible.

I am really surprised of the poor review. I’ve been using Home Tech for at least 6 years(when they were located in Chicago). They are extremely knowledgeable with all issues and setups you need and/or desire(we had them install Sonos speakers throughout the house, extend our wifi network for better connectivity, and do general maintenance/upgrades continually on our machines). They’ve helped me identify my software and hardware needs and more. They might be going through expansion issues! I just sent an online request for service via their site, and haven’t heard back, which is why the four stars and not five. And no more on-site visits! They need to bring this back!

Utterly Unreliable Booked a technician to evaluate our wireless system and tell us what to buy/install in order to boost the Wi-Fi and have our home computers, TVs, etc work better together. Paid the $ 35 evaluation fee, and they came out on January 9th to examine all of our equipment. They were very thorough, and said they had a number of ideas to improve the«whole house» performance. Waited 2 weeks for the written report /recommendation. Never got it. When I followed up it was«Oh yes, we’re working on it». Went back in personally — another apology. «Will have it next week.» It has now been 6 weeks — and still no report. What was the point of them spending an hour looking at everything? To case the house? What a complete waste of my time and money!
