Love, love, love this salon. Jackie has been doing my hair for many years now. I had struggled with finding a stylist who listened, was skilled at their craft, pleasant and did not break the bank.
Everyone at the salon is warm, friendly and accommodating. They are open 7 days a week.

After 7years as a client it is about time I get around to writing this overdue review.
The entire staff have your best interests at heart and show it. Clearly they are highly skilled, but these folks go above and beyond to make your world better.
Do not fret that there are not an abundance of Unilocal reviews, yet. Their clients love them, so it is worth your time to try them.

This is my regular salon to get my hair cut. Jessica at the front desk is always so nice and has a smile on her face. This salon is very clean and is always decorated for the holidays. Jackie does an awesome job at cutting my hair and I never leave dissatisfied.

Soooo excited that they added the ability to book your appointment online from their website. It is formatted to also work on a mobile phone browser so you can easily pull up their schedule and the type of service you want and see when each stylist had an opening. I just booked an appointment and it took about 3 min. Much less time than it would have taken to call and since it’s 9pm they are closed so I would have to wait until
Tomorrow to do it anyway.
This is a huge plus in my book since it is so convenient and saves time!

I am very picky when it comes to my highlights and I know I can always depend on Lena to take away all my fears. She is an expert when it comes to all things coloring and styling. My highlights have never been as good as when Lena does them. Once I started going to Lena I have not been able to use anyone else because they just fall short in comparison. I also have never liked a blow-​dry i have received because I have already very straight hair and do not like when it becomes puffy and unnatural. However, after I received a blow-​dry from Lena, I was shocked at how beautiful my hair looked! I never thought I could love a blow-​dry so much! She also did my hair for a wedding and she made it look exactly like a picture I had shown her. I received many complements as I always do after getting my hair done by Lena! I go to school in New York so it is always exciting for me to come home because I know one of the first things I will be doing is going to Lena.

I’ve been coming to Jacklin K. Salon for a couple of years now, after my previous stylist stopped cutting. This was terrifying, as I like to stay with someone who knows me and knows what I like. That said, once I came to Jackie — I was a client for good. I’ve even referred my mom, family and girlfriends. The salon has good hours, a convenient location and an extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Jackie both cuts and colors my hair, which is not easy. I have baby fine hair, and change colors with the seasons, and she is always patient and gives great suggestions. She will also be honest with me when what I think I might want simply won’t work with my hair/​coloring/​lifestyle. She’s a wiz with ideas that DO work and that is worth every penny.

Despite the good reviews (which is why I chose this salon), my experience was horrible. I have brown hair. I wanted to go just one or two shades lighter and I personally didn’t care how it was achieved. I went first to Brittany and $ 200 later my hair was orange. She sent me home with orange hair and acted as if the color was perfectly normal and also as if I had asked for orange hair.
I was upset with the orange color, so I went back to Jacklin who «fixed» it free of charge. After, my hair was still an orange/​red color. Everyone who sees me says «oh you dyed your hair red???» with a disgusted look on their face.
6 months of having orange hair, I decided to call Jacklin to find out what she used in my hair so that when I go to a new salon I may be able to actually achieve a normal looking color. Jacklin would not reveal to me what she used on my hair. Her reason was that they go to school and study to come up with the [orange] colors they dye their clients hair. I assured her I wasn’t try to steal her special concoction of color, because in all honesty, everyone who sees it thinks it looks absolutely awful.
Quote from their website: «Our goal is for each guest to leave completely satisfied and looking forward to their next memorable experience.» I can attest that this is NOT a goal this salon strives for.
In my opinion, the Jacklin K Salon stylists/​owner are rude and operate a very poorly run business.
–UPDATE– I went to Rolf Salon in Wilmette and the stylist there was able to correct/​remove the red/​orange from my hair. And now I finally have great looking color.

Great environment, good service and really nice people. So naturally I wanted to give a good review until I came home and realized the right side of my hair was cut noticeably shorter than the left. And I’m talking an inch here, not just nit picking! The stylist was obviously not paying attention to her work and for $ 50 I expect a great cut. Needless to say, I will be back tomorrow to get it fixed and hopefully will leave satisfied.

I have been going to this salon for over a year. First, I love supporting a female owned company — and Jackie — the owner is a gem. And lets talk hair — Jackie used the keratine express treatment on my hair last summer. It went from a mass of red curls and frizz — not attractive — to me now — the lady who can flip her super smooth straight hair back. I’ve had several of the 30-​minute express treatments and truly — it’s been amazing. Instead of spending an hour trying to tame curls that went everywhere I have smooth shoulder length hair. I can use the flat iron to make it super straight — but usually I wash it — blow it for about 5 mintues to get the dampness out — and GO!

A same day plea yesterday to Jacklin K Salon resulted in a hair color/​style update that made my 59^th year/​364^th day tremendous! I woke up 60yrs old and have never looked better.
Jacklin knows her clients needs and I highly recommend her as well as her very friendly and also talented salon staff.

once my pup found a new «salon,» i knew it was time for me to do the same.
i’d been eyeballing the jacklin k. salon every time i drove or walked by it. then i visited their website and saw all their amazing reviews and tons of interior shots.
so, i took a chance and am never looking back! they were so very welcoming, and the sweet receptionist gal even asked if i wanted coffee! i’ve never before been asked such a thing in any salon.
their interior is nice and soothing. very clean. wood floors. just a modern yet warm place. i loved my surroundings.
my stylist, brittany, was amazing. she even let me go on chatting about jerseylicious! she was very knowledgable, very sweet and not at all rushed. she took her time to explain what/​why i need to style my hair a certain way. and she even managed to gently brush out my difficult curly hair (thank you!).
i heart my new salon! i now see my haircare future ahead of me, and it’s lookin’ real good.

Got a cut and blow dry with Brittany. Was very happy with her suggestions and my new style. Would recommend her and this salon to others. Very good value and was a nice quick visit. I will definitely be back!

Okay I think I found my salon. Just had a FABULOUS hair cut and style just a few hours ago. My stylist was Crystal who by the way was a great listener and actually communicated with me through out the whole process.
Previous stylist from other salons I encountered never really listened to me, had poor communication skills and was also rushing through just so they can get as much customers they can in a day. Well definitely you will not find rushing and lack of communication in this place! The atmosphere is great and the stylists there made sure you felt welcomed and comfortable.
So my stylist crystal did a great job on my hair, she took her time and made sure all the imperfections of my hair was perfect. I came in there very unsure of what hairstyle I wanted. I wanted the inverted bob but then again I don’t flat iron my hair constantly but leave it curly and wavy more often so she suggested that I get many layers and add fun to it. Which I went ahead and let her do her magic. She did a fantastic job and I loved it!!! can’t wait to go back next month and get some highlights from her.
Definitely worth it!!!

Decent price. I had my bob cut here by Jackie. The style is good, except that it could have been cut more thoroughly evenly. However, nobody but myself is probably seeing this. But when I had it cut by Susan last year, the unevenness was more pronounced and my mother and one of my girl friends noticed. But I’m quite happy with the new cut I got with Jackie, so 4 star for her.

Great stylists, great price. Susan cut my hair for $ 21, and I love it. Don’t waste your time and money at a place like Best Cuts when there’s a gem like this near the heart of Evanston.

It was that time of year. The temperatures are rising, beaches calling my name, and flip-​flops have came out of storage. I needed a flirty, summery haircut to match my tan and bright tank tops. I returned to Jacklin K. Salon for said haircut and highlights yesterday, and I am extremely pleased with the results.
Jacklin K. Salon is located at the intersection of Gross Point and Old Orchard Road. The salon may be in Evanston, but it belongs downtown because of its stylish and modern décor. Unpretentious and welcoming, every customer is treated like a guest. The staff is very friendly and sociable, including the salon owner Jacklin herself. She and her husband put all of their heart and soul into this salon, and it shows.
I wanted subtle copper/​caramel highlights. Jacklin was a great listener during the consultation. While she colored my hair, I watch the «Today Show» on their plasma TV, and engaged in light-​hearted conversations. Time quickly flew by. In past experiences, this process took forever due to my thick, black hair.
Next, it was time for my hair cut. I always ask for a shaggy style. It doesn’t require much styling, just tousle and go. I am extremely low maintenance when it comes to hair. I simply don’t have the desire to spend more than 10 minutes with a comb and blow dryer. Anyway, Jacklin washed my hair and gave a deep condition treatment (always a bonus). She started cutting my hair with regular scissors, while adding lots of texture with a razor. That is preferred way of thinning and adding dimension to hair.
Overall, I was very pleased by the experience. I love the cut and color of my hair. It was wonderful to meet Jacklin. She is truly in her element as a salon owner and hairstylist. If you are looking for great haircuts, you need not venture far into Chicago. Here, you’ll get the same results in a bright and hospitable atmosphere, but at much better prices. Strongly recommended!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I was so nervous trusting my hair to an unknown quantity, but the people there are so friendly and welcoming it put me at ease. Jacklin talked through exactly what I wanted with me and cut it perfectly! I still can’t believe it was only $ 21! I will definitely be going back!
