I was going on and on raving to a coworker about this store this morning, and I thought I should probably transfer some of that praise to a review here. I have bought many items here over the past year, including three suits here for work, several skirts, and a couple of blouses. All three suits were in perfect condition, beautiful and well kept. They look and wear like brand-new suits and have become my conference staples. I get compliments all the time. The other items I have purchased here are also like-new. The clothing buyer here has really great taste in clothes, but also has really high standards for quality. When you walk in, there is no funky smell like you experience in other consignment/used clothing stores, and you don’t have to pore over racks and racks of worn, stained, or raggedy clothing to find good pieces. I’m not a designer princess, but those who are will find a lot of designers represented here. I actually live in Chicago, but I will drive here because I like this place so much, and I’ll be stopping in this Saturday after I get my hair done at Art & Science across the street.

This is a small but good thrift shop. I usually stay away from religiously-oriented shops in favor of secular shops or shops that donate to charities I personally support(like Brown Elephant), but I saw the cutest shoes in the window and had to check out this place. There is a huge range of sizes, and many of the items are designer brands. You can find everything from an outfit for a grandmother to wear to her grandchild’s graduation to pretty cocktail dresses for an office party to job-interview-worthy men’s suits. Prices are good, the staff is friendly, and there’s a fitting room with art for sale in it at the back. I hope this place does well, because it has a much less narrow focus than some of the other thrift shops in the area and is literally right in front of a row of parking meters. (Have I mentioned that I love Evanston meters? I do! They take nickels and dimes and aren’t part of an underhanded city deal!)
