We arrived last Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm. The server seated us, got us water, and took our order on a note pad. He returned 10 min later holding a water and asked us if we wanted more water, «Sure, thanks.» 20 min later, same scenario. 15 min later,(45 min after we placed our order) I flagged down the server and asked if our food was coming out soon. «Yes, I’m sure it is. I’ll check with the chef,» was his reply. 15 min later(now 1 hour after we placed our order) the server returned to tell us «If you want to blame someone, blame me and not the chef. I forgot to put your order in.» He did not apologize. We were shocked. 1. Why would I blame the chef for YOUR mistake? 2. You must have passed us 50 times looking at us and our table, still not«remembering» to turn our order in? 3. Did it not dawn on you, server kid, that other customers who arrived AFTER us received their food? Some had finished and left. If I hadn’t asked, we would still be sitting there with server kid walking by, giving others their food who had come in, ordered, and received their food. He had to ask us our order again and write it down, again. I don’t blame him for not remembering, it had been an hour. ½ hour later we received our food. Again, still no apology. We did receive two slices of fried green tomatoes, however. That’s compensation for an hour and a half of my time? No, apology from server kid or the management/owners(who were in the back). You’re probably wondering why I stayed. It’s because the food is that good, but it’s conditional. Your server has to remember to place your order. «Are you ready for your check now?» You’re going to charge me? «No. I think I’ll wait here for another hour.» Time for a career change, Son. Next time, I’m ordering out.

Was very frustrated with the service and had a hard time enjoying the food because of that. When one goes out to dinner they want it to be a treat. It really is a bummer because the food was good. We won’t be back again however, was just not worth it! Would have enjoyed staying home and having a bowl of cereal better.

Ok. Food is as amazing as everyone says. Fried Okra was a big hit. Blacked shrimp jambalaya was expertly prepared and just the right amount of heat. I’d gladly bring any of my family from Louisiana here for some down home cookin. Service was a little inconsistent which is why I could not give 5 stars. There were people that arrived after us that looked like they got better service so it may just be a staff training issue. As long as you are not in a hurry, it’s worth it anyway. We’ll be back and hope for a better server.

This restaurant is an example of people getting in their own way when striving for success. Starting with the positive: the food is excellent. Well seasoned, correct temperatures, and flavors befitting the Cajun moniker. Now for the bad… there is an infuriating wait for everything… a table(and we had reservations), water, placing your order, the food… Much like other reviewers, we noted that every person working front-of-house here was disorganized, incapable of multi-tasking and did not seem to have a clue about how to run a restaurant efficiently. Patrons leave and, despite multiple groups waiting for tables, it takes at least 10 – 15 minutes for tables to be cleared and prepped. It almost makes you want to hop up and and take charge… because you’re waiting an hour or more for your food anyway. Sadly, when providing feedback to the staff about how they could improve, we were told«we’re still training»…having been open since 2013, this is an unacceptable excuse. Bottom line, despite really good food, it is highly unlikely we’ll return to Craving Cajun; but I’ll keep an eye on continuing reviews to see if they sort this stuff out.

Writing this review for a co-worker who does not have Unilocal account. He, and 5 other members visited this place for lunch and left after 1.5 hours of waiting for food; which they never received. They’re not sure what the mix-up was, …but did mention that there were 3 people in the kitchen with one waitress. Would only recommend this place if you have time to waste. Will return myself on another day to give a fair review — in case this was just a bad day; everyone has them!

This place is the absolute best. I was raised on creole/southern cooking down in Houston. This is by far the closest you’ll get to perfection when it comes to creole food.

I’m conflicted between 3 stars and 4 stars. The food here is amazing! The reason for the 3 stars is due to the out-dated menu. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. We have eaten here for a couple of years now and for the last year, a few beer options are no longer available; however, the beers in question are still listed on the menu. The prices charged for the beers also do not match the prices listed on the menu. My wife requested both Scuttlebutt brews(Amber and the IPA) and was told neither were served any longer. Same response as a year ago. She then ordered a Corona only to be told that Corona was currently out of stock. We both settled on a couple local Abita beers. The menu price lists these beers as $ 5 a bottle; however, I was charged $ 6 a bottle. For our meals we started with Fried Okra for $ 5.95. Tasty starter. We shared a cup of Red Beans ‘n’ Rice for $ 5.95. I was in pure heaven. So good. I ordered the Ragin’ Cajun Shrimp(qty 6) with Sweet Potato Fries for $ 14.95. I’m glad I tried this meal but will not order again in the future. My wife ordered the Shrimp & Grits for $ 14.95: Blackened large shrimp surrounded by cheese grits, creole sauce, a Fried Green Tomato and a single Hushpuppy. My wife doesn’t care for the creole sauce but I sure do. Creole sauce was easily served on the side. The cheese grits are divine. My wife orders this dish every time we dine here. The staff is always friendly. Service times are inconsistent so do not dine here if you’re in a rush. Craving Cajun, please update your menu to reflect current beer offerings with the correct prices listed.

We have been to New Orleans 3 times so we know a bit about cajun and creole cuisine. We had the Shrimp Po’ Boy, Red Beans and Rice and Cheesy Grits. To sum this review up on just a few words; The food served was not just«as good» as food in New Orleans, it was BETTER! It is important to note when on vacation we don’t skimp on food or drink so while in NOLA we ate it some of the best restaurants in the French Quarter; Pierre Maspero’s, Antoine ‘s, The Court of the Three Sisters and The Napoleon House just to name a few, so the comparison is valid. The food was excellent, service was excellent and the environment clean and colorful. We will be back for sure!

Everything on the menu looks exceptional, and we most thoroughly enjoyed the jerk chicken, fried green tomatoes, and po’boy. Can’t wait to return to try more!

This is the place, if you’re craving for some good Cajun food. It’s a little expensive, but well worth it for an occasional treat.

I don’t eat creole cuisine very often but we were searching for a place to eat in dt Everett. This place was a great choice for seafood gumbo(comforting in the rain). We liked that there’s lots of seafood and sausage and the side of hush puppies. The gumbo was nicely seasoned and the crab is shelled for an extra $ 4 Quick accommodating service

This place is crazy good! I loved the hush puppies. and I don’t usually like them… The 1 was hot enough to add bite and runny nose without being overpowering. At first you think that this small cup is not enough food but it gets filling very fast. Had the gumbo and the étouffée. Both were very well seasoned and tasty. Yes, there was only four shrimp in the bowl/cup…it really was more of a cup than a bow. The prices were a bit high. However, I really did get full on what I was served. I did have sides. We got the okra. It was our first time here and we thought it was crazy good. The dishes were piping hot and very spicy.

As people know I rarely give 5 stars. The experience I had here was certainly deserving of this ranking. The food was 5 stars. I had fried green tomatoes and their gumbo witha heat of 1. This was my first time having fried green tomatoes and they were delicious. The gumbo was amazing with a perfect flavor and heat. It outrite beat the gumbo I had in New Orleans. The service was 5 stars. Everybody there was extremely friendly and exemplified southern hospitality. They were also fast so I never felt like I was just waiting. The atmosphere is bright and fun although not 5 stars because of the space. It definately gets 4 for everything that makes the lomited space work. I will be back to try more. :-)

I love Creole and this place does not disappoint. First off the menu is perfect. All the classics, a few different items mixed with our wonderful fresh local seafood. What’s not to love? Started with a couple beers and some fried okra. Okra was cooked perfectly. Not too spicy. Good beer list as well. I had blackened shrimp étouffée and hubby had the Dungeness Crab Gumbo at a spice level of 1. Warning — unless you can do seriously spicy food do not go over a 1. Holy cow! Étouffée was wonderful. I could have eaten 10 of those blackened shrimp. OMG yum O. Both dinners came with 2 hush puppies which were really tasty and helped cut the heat. Service was also great. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Totally unassuming place that really delivers. I can’t wait to come back and try everything else on the menu.

I paid $ 22 for a small cup of soup. Obscenely expensive! The menu listed the gumbo as $ 14, but I was told«extra costs» were added for the meat, which was listed on the menu as being in the soup. $ 22 for a small cup of soup and white rice. I left still feeling hungry. I assume this must be the reason that no menu is posted outside the restaurant, to browse before coming in – because if you saw such a price, you simply wouldnt come in! Loud aggressive screaming funk music played throughout the dining(waiting) experience. That James Brown squeal sure didn’t make for a relaxing atmosphere. The wait was very long… everyone in the restaurant kept looking at their plates and eachother, annoyed as they continued to wait, past the one hour mark. Apparently, things go much slower down South! THAT’S the authentic experience we must be paying so much for here.

Best Cajun food west of the Mississippi! I’ve been going to New Orleans for the last 20 years, so I’ve eaten my share of creole/Cajun food. I stumbled in to Craving Cajun Grill two weeks ago, a little more than skeptical of legit food in Everett to say the least but my mind and tastebuds where blown away! A+ service A+++ food

My first experience with Craving Crazy Cajun was at Tour De Terrace(a little town fair in Mountlake Terrace). After I had one of their Jamaican Jerk Chicken skewers and Ribbon Fries I was hooked! I’ve been meaning to venture to their actual restaurant ever since trying it for the first time. I finally took my hunnie this past Saturday. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Everett with ample street parking. We were seated right away upon arriving. I do strongly suggest making reservations however because it definitely got very busy later and a line started to form. The restaurant is pretty small but quaint and the décor matched the theme of the restaurant beautifully. Before ordering you should know that the spicy level here is a little crazy. A 2 star here is equivalent to a 4 star at a Thai restaurant. It goes from 0.5 to 9 here! Tread carefully. We HAD to order the skewers and Ribbon fries again(too good not to), as well as the Blackened Salmon Caesar and The Shrimp and Grits. The skewers and fries were excellent and not to be missed. I also thought the Shrimp and Grits were amazing. The shrimp were plump and juicy and the grits were perfectly cooked and the flavor of the the dish overall was out of this world. The salmon was a little dry and the Caesar was okay but nothing special. The garlic bread it came with was awesome though. My only gripe is that it took FOREVER for our food to come out! It took about 20 minutes just for our appetizers to come out and another 15– 20 for our mains. Service was pretty great and you could tell that they were putting our quality food so it made it not so bad. I think they only have one chef in there doing everything! This place is a one of a kind gem in the middle of Everett, we will definitely be back!

My friend and I were quite hungover from St Patty’s Day and were in desperate need of food. At first we were getting phở but saw Craving Cajun. My friend was raised in Louisiana and I just traveled to New Orleans and we both love good(key word) authentic Cajun food. It’s a cute place. The waiter was very nice and we were seated within a minute. The menu was slightly pricey but everything looked amazing. We opted for the fried green tomatoes with a spicy sauce, I ordered the shrimp étouffée, and he got the red beans and rice. Our wait was a bit extensive, but it looked like the kid was there alone. The fried green tomatoes were amazing! Not too heavily breaded, and the sauce was great. Everything was fresh. My étouffée was seriously off the charts. Very appropriately seasoned. The shrimp was plump, charred and seasoned with an awesome Cajun kick, and the hushpuppies were golden and melted in your mouth. My friend’s red beans and rice is normally a side but it too was delicious and well seasoned. I will definitely be coming back here, and telling more people to go! Well worth the wait :)
