The Irishmen

I have been here a handful of times with the hope that it was just an «off» night but no, service has been terrible each and every time. It’s like «great, thanks for coming in — now we’re going to have to clean a table.» Certainly in opposition of Irish hospitality! It’s definitely not just my friends and I, I’ve spoken to several others and they laugh when I suggest going to The Irishmen, their response, «We will never go there again!» Plenty of other bars in downtown that would love to serve you and if you’re looking for a great Irish bar in the area, definitely Shawn O’Donnells!!!

The food was surprisingly good! The customer service was great and the atmosphere was amazing. They played great throwback early 2000 hits. Will definitely go back.

I hate writing this review because the Irishman was once one of my favorite places to go to in Everett but after today they have lost a regular customer.
Just to start if you are wondering if the food is good, it is.
As far as individual experiences/​customer service goes we have had amazing experiences and not the best. Today however was the worst.
I should start by saying we are Irish and take St Patrick’s day very seriously. Every year I make a big Irish meal, but this year we looked up the Irishman and planned to get a smörgåsbord of food to go. (Which is very special because we aren’t super high income). We don’t have the money for the cover charge to go in and see the bands and events so we were just getting food to go. As usual. I checked their page on St Patty’s events thoroughly! (I suffer from ocd… so you know… it was REALLY thorough lol). All that was stated about the food was that it was «served until midnight». I started calling early at around 2pm to order our food to go because I knew it would get more crowded the later it got. No answer any of the 8+ times I called over the course of several hours. I assumed that since it was St Patty’s they were busy. No big deal I thought, «we will order once we were there». So after spending a long time gathering up the bravery to leave my house for the Irish food I knew would be worth it (like I said… really bad ocd) we arrived at about 4:30.
Upon arriving we walked up to the three bouncers and told them we would just like food to go. One bouncer turned to another and said «no food to go today right?» The other guy just nodded. After that was answered we were instantly we were dismissed by them. I was shocked… it never said that ANYWHERE on their flyer which advertised traditional Irish food!!! «Served till midnight»!!! After attempting to et their attention again I asked what our options were and they said to pay the cover charge and eat inside. Not an option for us.
As I walked thinking about how hard it was for me to get out of the house and be brave, how we had no other plans because I thoroughly checked that this was a good place to go, I thought… here has to be some way.
So I walked back asking if there was anyone in the restaurant I could talk to, if they could make an exception for loyal regulars, we couldn’t afford to go out to and pay a cover charge– is there was anything they could do? Before I could finish one of them cut me off and started boasting about how the cover charge goes to the bands and how we would be taking from them. I said that wasn’t my point, I was asking about getting food to go. Was there was any way? The man continued boasting in a very pushy way saying «look we can’t do it. Do you know how crowded t is in there? We are serving on paper plates! No food to go.»
I understand the reasoning. What I don’t understand was the way we were treated for double checking. I also don’t unseeing advertising an event and not posting any kind of warning that they would change their usual policies for the day. Our St Patrick’s day is ruined. Ironically thanks to this Irish restaurant.

One of the worst servers we have ever had, super rude, almost threw our food down, seemed annoyed we only orders appetizers. We never got silverware and waited over 30min to get our tab. Finally had to go track the waitress down to get the bill… Will never be going back.

Drink was great. Only had one and it had some strength to it. Their bread is awesome but I wish they had more vegetarian food options. Good location and parking for late at night.

The Irishmen is one of my go-​to bars. 5 stars for atmosphere — it feels like an authentic Irish pub from the wood-​paneling to the stained-​glass skylight cover to the Irish flag décor (in fact my British friend vouched for it’s authenticity!) Nice late-​night happy hour options. Everything feels about one dollar overpriced, but hey, its worth it here. It’s obviously well-​run, as the tables are never empty, and they have a robust events schedule including live Irish music on Mondays and pub trivia on Tuesdays. Best place in town to catch a soccer game!

Haven’t tried the food because we couldn’t make it past the front door. Tried to have dinner there at 5pm with 3 adults and 2 teenagers but apparently the entire establishment is 21 and over. Poor decision in this area.

This place was great! Beautiful interior, reasonably priced drinks. Staff was a little cranky but they had some issues with drunk patrons earlier in the night so I’ll give them a pass. Table next to us got food & it looked pretty good. My friends said breakfast was great.
There was also a live musician & it really «classed the place up.» Pleasantly shocked & will return.

Their service is so bad! When Their waitress serve food, just give one fork eventhough we were more than five. There are so many thing that make us disappointed. We talked about this problem to their manager, but he just said i am boss here, if you don’t like our service .you don’t need to come again.

Absolutely terrible. The service we received here is terrible. Not sure if they are racist or not, but the service was so sloppy, unprofessional, and we were offended when we came here.
The server was sloppy, he had NO manners, gave us sarcastic remarks and responses when we asked for something, and treated us like pigeons. We complained to the owner, and the owner straight up said that he is the Boss, and if we don’t like the terrible service, then leave and never come back.
This is not how you run business folks, keep up the terrible work.

I’ve been always visiting this place for 3years and after all of the server was changed I was treated like shit.
The server was throwing forks, spilling beers and being so sarcastic to us and don’t even care about it.
I complained about the server to the owner and he was telling that just don’t come to this place anymore.
Well I am so sure that I will not come here anymore when the owner doesn’t even realize what the server is doing.

The shepherds pie was beyond amazing and a huge portion, even for the lunch size. It was delicious and I had to finish it even though I was full! The soda bread was also a tasty accompaniment for it as well. Prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was nice. Definitely will go back the next time I’m in Everett.

How do you ruin a reuben? If it wasn’t for the staff I’d give 0 stars. Should a sandwich be crisp black? Don’t think so. Whoever was on the grill tonite should be fired!!!

Came here to watch the game… there were more Packers fans than Seahawks fans! I found it funny. My boyfriend didn’t find it as funny as I did, since the cheering was going back and forth. We shared the vegetarian shepherds pie. It was awesome. Drinks were good. Jameson dominated the drinks menu. The staff was friendly. I plan on going back! Thank you!

Barry is a wonderful bartender and conversationalist. Stumbled upon this place and what a joy. Would definitely stop by again.

I’ve been here multiple times and the food is decent and service usually good. Today I came in for lunch and seeing they were busy I also noticed their day waitress wasn’t there so not sure if it was a call out or under staffed either way I waited about 10 minutes with no acknowledgement (even after I moved literally directly in front of the bartenders face, got my own menu while the bartender watched, seated myself) not even a ill be with you shortly so I walked out. Probably won’t ever go back unfortunately. My mom bartended basically all my growing up and some of my close friends now bartend and it’s unfortunate when a bartender has to do a servers job as well but none the less please acknowledge your customers we matter.

My husband brought me here at the recommendation of our neighbor… whoopsies!
Our waitress was friendly enough, but consistently dissapeared. I ordered their mac and cheese, my husband ordered their fish and chips. He had water and I had two fruity alcoholic drinks that were full to the brim with ice. Our tab was over $ 50 with tip!
For that price, our waters weren’t refilled, the waitress forgot my second drink order until I’d finished my meal and my husband’s fish was luke-​warm next to my steaming dish. We sent his plate back to be warmed up. Our server was not pleased.
To top it off the floor underneath our table was absolutely disgusting. I accidentally dropped something and never would have noticed otherwise, because it isn’t very brightly lit Inside.
Given that both of us have Irish heritage, in addition to the referral, we really wanted to like this place… however once we *finally* received our bill/​receipt, we couldn’t get out of there fast enough:(
Given all the positive reviews, maybe we went there on an off day, you know? It happens! Unfortunately our experience was so bad that we don’t plan on trying it again!

They had great irish music playing for the 1^st 20 min or so then we overheard the only staff member on duty complaining about how it was a little much in the morning… she switched it to regular American pop music… kinda killed the irish feel:-/
