First the good part; The proportions are generous and the service is friendly. I like that it’s «fresh» at least in regards to the fact that they cook it all right in front of you instead of having food that has been sitting for an hour. The bad? The food is incredibly bland, the sauce has almost no taste. The menu is also way too simple. It’s called express Japan but it’s basically just a standard teriyaki place that only serves like four different things. I don’t really see the hook, there is literally no reason to eat here instead of the other similar/better fast food Asian spots right next door. I’m not a fan of Panda Express but they at least offer variety in their menu with much better tasting food.

This is one of the good places I’ve been to its right next to subway in everett mall. The cashier was polite, and the cook, OMG the cook incredible. I have come here here before always satisfaction. I recommend this place .I use to get panda express, but wanted to try something different this is it. And yes not a big menu like it but a simple, and a great one.

I agree with Eric R. It’s not worth going to again. Super simple menu I was hoping by the name that there would be some more traditional Japan’s offering. I got the chicken, almost no flavor & the rice was over cooked if your money is better spent at Teriyaki Express a few doors down!

This is a new business in the food court of Everett Mall. The genre is Japanese Teppenyaki(a slight variation on teriyaki that’s done on a flat grill). Their menu options are simple: chicken, shrimp, or beef(or varying combinations of 2 of the 3) that come with either fried rice or steamed rice, and vegetables. There are some other things like spring rolls but for the most part that’s it. I got the chicken with steamed rice and vegetables. The chicken had an okay flavor and the proportions were as to be expected. The rice was overcooked so it was not sticky. The vegetables were broccoli, cabbage, and carrots that were all steamed and a small portion provided that wasn’t anything special. All-in-all, it was nothing to go back for, nothing impressive, not a lot of options, and, frankly, I don’t see the business lasting for all that long(not to mention there’s an existing teriyaki place about 50 ft away and a Panda Express about 50 yds away). If you are making a choice at the mall, I’d pick the teriyaki place near by over this one.
