Better than quizno’s, but smaller selection. The sandwich was good, but a bit dry for my taste. I have been told this is authentic. If so, the people of Philadelphia should travel to Mahon and try their ‘naise.

I’ve been to this place several times. I’ve lived in Boston for a couple of years(early 70’s college/cab driving) — don’t even talk to me about subs unless you’ve eaten there(No such thing as a true Pepper Steak out here). I balance what you pay with what you get and this place is a good value. I can see there is some inconsistency in what they serve but the ingredients are good the quantity is large. I got the impression it’s a young mother(baby in the background) running this place(maybe with family help?) and trying to do so in a poor location with limited initial investment. I’d rather be a part of a place like this succeeding than defaulting to a chain. Give this place a try and be fair in your expectations.

I really like how close this shop is to my house! I have decided to go low carb for my NY resolution this year, so I want to hurry up in these last few days of December and get my carb fix. So sandwich was the mission, and Philly Cheese Steak and Sub was the location. This is an old Quizno’s, and sports the same layout and equipment. I went in last night to get some dinner because I was craving some beef and I had been meaning to try this new shop. I ordered two of the Philly Cheesesteak«dip» sandwiches– I have never eaten one with Au Jus but I knew my boyfriend would like it. The service was friendly, the food was prepared relatively fast. A large is a little on the pricey side at 7.50, but it is nearly a 14 inch sandwich good for two meals. I found the toppings to be just enough and although there wasn’t a ton of meat there was plenty for me, the steak was nice and tender, and although the sandwich had been put through a toaster, it was still nice and soft. I added green peppers to my sandwich and took it home. It was a good steak sandwich, albeit I have had better, presumably more authentic Cheesesteak at a competitor a little farther south of this location. The Au Jus wasn’t super salty and msg laden and tasted homemade. I liked that. The sandwich was big enough and tasted pretty good so I will be back to try other items, they also have regular subs, soups, and salads.

This place only gets 2 stars because the food was edible and store was relatively clean. The good ends there. The place is very new. So new, in fact, that they’re still using the Quizno’s drink lids from the restaurant that was there right before them. They automatically toast the sandwiches and do a number of other things to it that you don’t do to a normal philly cheesesteak. I ordered a SMALL, Triple Bacon Cheesesteak with a $ 2.25 extra combo for chips and a drink. On the menu, it says the sandwich includes bacon, steak, swiss, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. What I got was a LARGE sandwich with about two fingers’ worth of steak, only one kind of cheese(swiss), weird spices/pepper that the clerk automatically put on without asking or even telling me what it was, NOBACONATALL(/outrage), with mayo, lettuce, and tasteless bell peppers on bread that was almost burned on the edges where the bread had been cut… and the bun broke at the edges upon itself. Nowhere even remotely close to what a cheesesteak should be. And I got charged extra for a combo that doesn’t even exist. The amount of meat on my sandwich was seriously pathetic. The waitress grabbed half a handful(and her hand was small) and tossed it into something that looked like a silverware strainer and put into a little hole in the counter that looked like a hot water bath to warm it up… which she banged on the counter when she pulled it out, so that my meat wouldn’t be completely waterlogged. My husband got the soup combo with his sandwich, which was charged the right amount, but only got a baby bowl worth of soup that tasted like it had been sitting in the pot all day. His sandwich was supposed to have caramelized onions… but they were very raw and very tasteless. The menu was pretty confusing. What you see is definitely NOT what you get! So to sum up… this is an incompetent Quizno’s. Onions tasteless and not caramelized, peppers tasteless, cruddy soup, overcharging for things you didn’t even order, wrong sized sandwich, toasted and peppered/herb-dusted without asking, pathetic meat portions(with questionable cooking method), mediocre bread, no bacon, basically didn’t get the sandwich I ordered at ALL. Not coming here again! This place is teh sux.
