Ray’s has the best fish and chips I’ve been able to find from Seattle to Blaine. Thick pieces of fish, light and crispy batter. Fantastic!

Gosh. I’m not really sure. We ate there about 4 today. The food was hot That’s good. But the fries were soggy & very salty. The lettuce was limpy & not fresh & crisp. I had 1 small slice of tomato &2 pickles. 2 meals with pop $ 20

The food is good but you just don’t get your moneys worth there anymore. Plus they charge for every little thing including ketchup for fries. And unfortunately, you have to ask for napkins. Just not my favorite place anymore.

I’ve been to this place three times and have a great experience every time. I went to Ray’s tonight with the parents and the consensus from everyone was that this is the best burger we’ve had in quite awhile. I’m not sure what the negative reviewers are smoking but everything that we ordered was excellent. I ordered a double mushroom and swiss burger but with ‘Murican cheese instead of swiss, I added bacon to it and asked for the onions to be grilled instead of raw. The burger was delicious, full of flavor, not overcooked and had a ton of mushrooms and onions and was dynamite. I also got a small onion ring which was light and just a little crunch to the breading but tender on the inside, I added a salt packet to mine because it didn’t look like they were salted from the start, which isn’t a big deal. Furthermore, I got a half order of deep fried mushrooms to split with the family, those were great as well, fresh, light and just a little crispy. I got a small chocolate milkshake that was good sized and full of flavor as well. Everything that I ordered was $ 18 but for the amount of food that I got, I don’t mind paying that. Without the mushrooms it would’ve been more like $ 12 and any of these other fufu burger restaurants you would be spending over $ 20. Everything my family and I ordered was delicious and we will definitely be back.

I can’t get much from here now being gluten free, but I have to say I used to love their fish and chips before I knew I had celiac disease! I’d get that and onion rings. It’s a classic place! There aren’t many places around here like it. What I’d give to be able to eat there again!

So so. Could be fresher. You don’t even get asked how you would like the burger prepared. Over priced for what you’re getting.

This used to be a very good place to grab a fresh and excellent burger. It has really gone down hill. We ordered food for ourselves and some company we had over and spent $ 75.00. We called our order in ahead of time. They said it would take 30 minutes, and the girl taking our order was very rude. We arrived 30 minutes later to get our order and it wasn’t ready. We waited another 20 min. While sitting at the drive thru we observed all the staff just goofing off inside. Leisurely making our food and mostly concerned about talking and joking amongst themselves. Once we finally got our food we headed home. The fries were overcooked and greasy, the fish was burned, burgers were cold. I physically got sick from the little I did eat. The next day I called and spoke with the manager. I told him what happened, let him know how rude the girl was on the phone, the poor quality of our food, the fact they were goofing off etc. He apologized for the poor food and said he was told that the night before was very busy and he had not provided enough staff. I then reiterated us observing very few customers and the staff goofing off. He stated«He hopes that his staff wouldn’t do that» I requested a refund and he said he could only give us gift certificates to come back another time. After several minutes of trying to get refunded, He gave us a gift certificate to come back another time. Which I was very reluctant to do. After a month or so we tried it again. Unfortunately, it was still awful! I again ended up getting sick and barely ate a few bites. I gave the remainder of my gift certificates away. Needless to say even after over 20 years as a loyal customer, I won’t be back. They definitely have some horrible cooks their now. It seems like management did not care they lost some long time loyal customers. They really should have some secret shoppers come in so Management can see how customers are treated and how poorly the food is executed when management is not around.

Best fish and chips in western Washington — and that’s from a Brit(fully qualified fish and chip inspector). Skip the tartar sauce and ketchup. Splash on the malt vinegar then salt and you’re doing it right. They just need to sell pickled onions the size of pool balls.

Place is exactly what you’d hope for from a local drive in. Home-town feel with great taste and a friendly smile. Bacon burgers always hit the spot after a day’s work! Plus it feels good to support the college kids working there as well.

Nice place. You can tell it’s been here since 1962. It’s probably changed very little in the last 52 years. Of sweet relish on the burger, I am not a fan. But it appears to be part of the standard here. Nine bucks for a burger, fries, and large drink. I guess some things have changed since 1962. Service is below average. No attempt to smile or communicate anything other than business. Saw me standing in the adjacent enclosed, but for some reason unconnected, dining area, could easily have motioned for me to come get my order. Nope. Just pushed it toward the window and called out the order number. It’s not a big deal, and I ain’t taking any stars away for it. But a place like this has a lot of potential for popularity. It seems a shame to have unenthusiastic workers. Food was average: big bun, little burger. Fries with skins on. Constant humming of some large machine made the older gentleman who was my enclosed area co-occupant remark, «sounds like we’re riding the ferry.» indeed it does. Average, with a half a star granted for(wasted) nostalgia value.

Just moved to the area and decided to try this little joint near our house. After the first visit we have gone back several times and every time its great, the milkshakes are fantastic, the fish and chips is great, the burgers are on point. Plus the prices are about the same as the a «chain» fast food joint with the add bonus of being local and BETTER.

I’m here to have my regular Rays burger with cheese and bacon yummy oh and don’t forget my marshmallow shake. If you are looking for a gourmet burger do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, but if you are looking for a good old greasy burger with real bacon you have come to the right place. Also excellent fish n chips.

I was looking forward to trying this place after passing it going to and from the hospital every day for the last 2 weeks. Figured since they’ve been in biz since 1962 they had to be doing something right! Burger was meh… had one overly breaded mushy onion ring and threw the rest away. Shake was fine. If they kept the mayonnaise refrigerated it would have just been non-memorable, but a couple hours after eating there I got to run, and I do mean RUN to the bathroom every few minutes. Ahhh food poisoning… how I love you… NOT Needless to say, I won’t ever return to Ray’s

Ray’s is always fantastic when we go. Their fish and chips is superb, and blows places like Ivar’s out of the water. Their burgers are great 90% of the time, but the other 10% of the time you’re eating it and you’re like«Eh. This is a pre-made burger patty.» I’ve never had a problem with the service. If you speak to the staff like they’re human beings instead of fast food peons, then *gasp* perhaps they’ll return the courtesy. They remember my husband’s order every time he comes in for lunch, which is great. I don’t think anything is wrong with their prices. An 8 piece fish and chip is under 14 dollars. That’s pretty damned good, and it’s more than enough food for two people. I just hope they continue the good work.

I went here today and I thought it was good. I had the fish and O-Rings. That was good. I didn’t expect a lot from this place so it hit the spot for me. The service was great. We dined-in. The bench seat was little small for us. But that’s okay. I also give them a 4-star since they’ve been around for a time at this location.
