Wow, their quality of fish sure went down, spicy tuna is not lil cubes of tuna now but looks like scrapings from da bone of da fish n not even spicy any more, tasted old. I give them 1 more year b4 they close doors if they keep serving bad quality of fish. Customer service is still good, just quality of fish now is bad, I ordered spicy mushrooms n it tasted old also. NOTTHING seems to b fresh any more from them. So disappointing. Wat was bad was u can see everyone else that left wasn’t happy also, there was a couple who came in only to eat I’m assuming for only 10 minutes n left hahahaha. Its up to u if u will go n eat in or take out, but I’m done with this place, its not worth it anymore for wat they charge. :(

Love this location! Great service and great food. We mostly order off the menu. There’s always a little bit of a wait here, so don’t go starving! Only complaint: they never replace the bad light bulbs. If I had epilepsy I couldn’t eat there with all the flickering!

My daughter had a craving for sushi. When we walked in we were greeted right away. Our waiter, Mark, was very pleasant, attentive, and accurate. We will definitely go back to this Genki location.

Great food and service. Wait can be long around dinner time, so go early or have a late dinner so you don’t have to wait too long.

Great customer service… Always greeted by workers with smiles on their faces and a genuine«irasshaimase» :) The servers are attentive and polite. Definitely check out their special menu board. They offer specialty items that the other genki sushi restaurants(that I’ve been to) don’t offer… My favorite is their spicy mushroom!

This is a busy location and we’ve been coming for years. While my family absolutely loves sushi, the restaurant is in need of renovation and maintenance. Tonight, we sat in the last booth and the air conditioner began leaking right on our table. It quickly made a puddle. The waitress apologized and put a pile of paper towels on the table, but the splashes were heavy and I got pretty wet. She apologized and said she’d give us 20% off since we weren’t really done eating but couldn’t really sit there either and all the seats were filled. When I got the check, it was only reduced by 10%. Other discomforts, the seats in the booths are quite worn and you have to find the spots that don’t have deep dips or the table is awkwardly high when trying to eat your food. I’ve also noticed that staffing is always minimal and constantly changing. This suggests the owners try to get as much as they can with the last amount of people or they can’t hold on to their employees. Tonight we didn’t even get some of the things we ordered and had a hard time getting the waiter and waitresses attention.

This is such a good neighborhood gem. Easy in and out. The sushi is typical Genki so you can’t go wrong with that. It does feel a little dated compared to some of the other Genki locations(Waikele and Ala Moana), but I’m glad they are in my neck of the woods. Service is usually very good.

My husband and I order take out from the Ewa Beach Genki Sushi and never had a problem until tonight. There was the head part of a spoon found in his California temaki!!! How could the sushi maker miss that while putting the crab on the rice? Quite atrocious. Don’t believe we’ll ever be ordering from them ever again.

Time to give credit where credit is due. True I gave this place 3 stars the last time but had to bump it up because they really have stepped up their game. Better quality of the food, more options on the belt and a good customer service core make this an overall better Genki experience for me

How disgusting and unacceptable. Deep fried ahi roll had a puddle of oil on the bottom of the takeout container and oil covered the entire roll. The scallop dynamite only had 4 pieces of scallop. And the ika karaage they pulled off the belt instead of making it fresh. Stay away from this location. Ugh.

I think the reason this Genki sushi is slower than the others is because of the quality of the sushi and the lack of customer service. Most of the waiters and waitresses here are not attentive at all. There’s hardly any sushi on the belt and they take forever to complete orders. I also had a small bone in my salmon! Hopefully Kurukuru takes over this genki sushi!

I’m generally a generous reviewer. I dislike giving two– and one-star reviews, especially to establishments that have done me some decency in the past. I thought that my Genki experience could not slip any lower than a three-star, but it has. Somehow. My family paid a trip to this Genki today and things seemed to go smoothly for the most part. Our waitress was quite attentive to our party-of-six needs, and most of the food came out within a reasonable amount of time. My brother and I had ordered stuffed mushrooms as soon as we were seated and it didn’t arrive until the very end, about half an hour later. By then I was tired of waiting, thinking they had forgotten it(which they have done in the past), and had lost my appetite for two reasons. First and most obvious, I pulled food from the belt and had gotten full from that. The second reason was because I had spotted not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR baby cockroaches investigating the food belt. The first three were very tiny(almost looked like flecks of chocolate had they not moved), but the last one was just about the size of a person’s thumbnail. THAT one made its way and caught a ride on the belt. I understand that perfect store cleanliness is a myth and that things happen — especially with roaches in Hawaii — but I could not get past seeing that while eating things with ikura and rô on it, with that crunchy, popping texture… Eugh. Sorry Genki.

My son and I went to Genki Sushi in Ewa Beach for a late lunch on Monday. We ordered Tobiko, Soft shell crab, Soft shell crab rolls, inari, and a Poke bowl. Everything, except the poke bowl, was fresh and flavorful. The poke was bland and had a gummy consistency. Not good. The service was really good, and there is always plenty of parking. We’re going to try another Genki Sushi and hopefully the poke will be fresh.

Food was average and good as usual~ But our server needs to have a more cheerful work attitude because it seems he doesnt want work here lol. As for getting food, i waited 15minutes for my avocado maki and that was too long of a wait and my friends were already done eating :(so i just put back on the belt. Sorry genki sushi.

Very disappointed. I love Genki Sushi. The service here was terrible. We ordered two rolls and never got them. We waited almost 30 minutes then decided to leave. The established feels old and don’t bother going on Monday evening because the sushi bar is empty. Will definitely go to Waipahu or Kapolei before this one EVERAGAIN

One weekend I had an insane craving for sushi, so we were faced with the decision: go to Waikele genki where there is always a line and we have never been disappointed or try out Ewa Beach Genki which is literally down the street and always looks empty(which can be a bad sign). We opted for trying out the Ewa Beach location. We got there about 1:30p on a Saturday and there was like one other booth in there. At first, I was excited that we didn’t have to wait or sit with our little one at the conveyor belt bar, but after being seated in a booth, it was clear that there wasn’t anything good on the line. I thought that it was kind of weird because we weren’t too outside the lunch timeframe, I felt like they should still have some good stuff on the line. No biggie. Our waitress was quick with the drinks and being the only other table in the restaurant, we were able to order very quickly. All of our orders came out pretty quickly, but shortly after having a few of the ahi varieties, it was clear that it wasn’t a very good cut of ahi. At first I thought that it was just that one sushi that was chewy and had a lot of tough«tendons» in it, but after the 3rd sushi plate with ahi in was like that it was clear that the restaurant just had some junk ahi. Normally, my husband and I can stack up those plates like nothing but I think we ordered like 5 or so plates less. When you are paying $ 5 for a plate and the ahi portion of the sushi is lacking, it just doesn’t seem appealing. The taste in everything was pretty much there. We got somen which was fresh and tasty, and my baby got some fries which didn’t have a lot of salt on it(thankfully), and I tried this new strawberry soda which was good but I wouldn’t recommend at $ 3 a pop(you’re better off getting a 6 pack of Diamond Head soda). Nothing was too spicy or too salty or anything like that. So the only bad thing about this place was the quality of the tuna. I can’t really speak for any of the other fish types as almost all the sushi dishes we had contain tuna or imitation crab. I definitely appreciate not having to wait in line, and the fast and friendly service we received, but I left this place still wanting. I doubt that we will be back to satisfy a sushi craving again. Maybe when we are looking for something to eat on the weekends and don’t want to go far or deal with the crowds. If I do, I will update again because maybe it was just a bad batch of tuna we got that weekend.

Hey everyone!!! If you love sushi, Genki Sushi Ewa is the place to go! They have the best Spicy Ahi, they are quick, and they are friendly. I have been coming here for years and I never had a problem with this Genki’s, but I have had a few bad experiences with other ones. They may have gotten expensive, but I promise that it’s worth it! :)

It’s a small Genki’s sushi, 13 seats at counter, 7 booths. It gets really busy sometimes but so far whenever I have come in, not that busy. Looks like about 2 – 4 servers on shift, so you get the attention needed. I love the food, it can get pricey but I think its worth it since it taste fresh & since its close to home. The customer service is awesome! Love coming back here. Bryant is my favorite server & manager.

Location: They are located at the Ewa Beach Shopping Center next to Starbucks and Subway. There are a lot of parking at this shopping center. Food: They have a wide variety of sushi but the selection on the belt is minimal. It’s best to order what you want instead of waiting for it to come on the belt. The amount of fish they give on the sushi isn’t as much as other places. My family loves ordering the platters for special occasions. Price: The price is more(around $ 0.50-$ 1.50 more) compared to other conveyor belt sushi restaurants. Service: The service is quick and attentive. Ordering out takes 5 – 10 minutes and 15 – 30 minutes for the platter. It doesn’t take long for orders when you done in. Discount: They offer military discounts Monday thru Thursday. Overall, I’m glad there is a sushi place in Ewa Beach. It’s better than grocery store sushi.
