This place is just really terrible overall. The sushi is legitimately awful. We got 4 different rolls, and each of them proved to that«disgusting» can come in many forms! The fish was old and discolored. The«hot rolls» were burned. They appeared to have been set on fire by a torch. I’m not exaggerating — they were literally burned black. We ate a bite of each hoping to find some reprieve from the horror, but there was none to be had. I wanted to complain, but the girl behind the counter had absolutely zero concern toward our satisfaction. We tossed the food, and braced for our digestive tracts to pay dearly for this mistake. I am calling the health department because I sincerely felt this place was extremely dirty. Serving discolored raw fish to customers is unacceptable.

Worst. Sushi. Ever. I’ve had mediocre Sushi before, but I had no idea that it could be this bad. I couldn’t even swallow the second bite, then threw out the rest of it. It was so bad that I was worried I was going to get food poisoning. I didn’t-the fish hadn’t gone bad, it just was horrible. I honestly don’t know what they did or didn’t do to make it this bad-it seems like it would have taken a lot of purposeful effort to try to make it this horrid. Plus, the people who worked there were unfriendly and acted like they were doing me a favor by serving me this vile«food.»

OMG. I ordered a huge expensive platter and the fish on the sushi was soooooo HORRIBLE… I can’t even begin to explain how old it looked, it was pale and taste HORRIBLE. I will NEVERORDERFROMHEREEVERAGAIN. They’re lucky no one in our office got sick!

We first thing when they opened in morning and rice tasted like it was yesterday’s rice, Cold and hard. I also tried to ordered a miso soup and they didn’t have it because they were still cleaning the pot which I thought was strange because it should’ve been cleaned last night before closing. And to top it off I ask for a water and she gives me a cup to fill up with warm Luke waterworks no ice. Come on people. Will not come back. Aiea ninja sushi is by far the best on the island. Maybe they need to take some pointers from them.

I frequently come here around 11AM on the weekdays. Usually it’s just my son and I here. I enjoy this place since it’s near my home. I always imagined how this place manages to stay in business because every time I look into the place, it seems quite empty. Nonetheless, I recently tried their 2-choice bento. The bento is very good and delicious. I recommend the spicy tuna paired with the tempura(shrimp). The tempura is delicious. The spicy tuna seemed fresh and not too spicy. Service is a bit slow, but it is bearable. I believe there are only two sushi makers in the back and the cashier. I would recommend this place if your not in a rush to get some sushi. The food is delicious but the service is lacking.

Ninja sushi, first and last time coming here. I wanted to give this place a shot before moving on to the next restaurant in the plaza. I tried the Salmon Combo with and my sister tried the Junior A Spam Combo so here are my results: Pros: Very low priced food Senior and Military discount Cons: Fountain machine is out of order they cannot serve cold water my salmon had a fish scale! they do not use sushi rice(yes there’s a difference from plain white rice) ginger is not kept cold California Roll didn’t have a fresh taste Spam Musubi had a very fishy flavor(it wasn’t the seaweed) Wasabi was not close to spicy I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who is a previous sushi customer. The customer service was very slow. I had seen people get their orders that they called in for AFTER I finished my food. I witnessed a customer get charged WRONG for a take out order they called in for so they had to be held back even longer. I understand she has a new cashier in training but to many people this is unacceptable. As first time customers, we weren’t invited to have a seat nor were we instructed to order and pay first at the counter before sitting down to expect service. I feel customer service here needs a lot of work along with the quality of sushi. Thanks for your time.

Customer service STILL sucks here! I only come back here because I love the sushi. About a month ago I called to place a take out order and the girl who took my order sounded unfriendly and only spoke with one word replies/responses. When I went in to pick up my food, no one was at the register to greet me. When the cashier saw me, she stood up from sitting on a stool, didn’t say one word and waited for me to say what I was there for. The only thing she had said to me was my total. I asked her if she liked her job, she replied NO. Then I told her it was obvious she didn’t because of how miserable she sounded on the phone. She shouted back«YOUTOO» and then we got into it a little in front of two groups on customers. Geez. I’m just trying to get some sushi. If you don’t like your minimum paying job then please do us all a favor and quit. Oh & I believe this cashier’s name is RAN.

Good food. BAD customer service. The young lady who is working the front today, Saturday, March 28th, 3:22 pm, has no customer service/professional manners at all. We were the only ones to have walked in with two other customers already there. We stood at the front counter to place an order for almost 2 minutes until she acknowledged our presence. She did the same thing to another couple who walked in after us. She kept grumbling and cussing(repeatedly using the 4 letter«f» word regarding the register(apparently she had an overage of cash). She had money and receipts all over the counter. She was very immature. I hope the owners read their Unilocal reviews… as you can see there are a lot of complaints regarding the customer service. The management needs to check their staff… not good for business at all…

Slow service. Ordered our meal took about 25 minutes to get. Got my ninja pak 2 which was spicy ahi, salad, tsukenono style cucumbers. Spicy ahi was a paste. No spicy to this thing and also had the consistency of pat’e. I myself wanted to eat at shiro’s but gave into my 11 year olds whinning for sushi. Next time we oug for dinner… Father knows best…

Horrible service. I work in Ewa Beach and decided to stop by this Ninja Sushi on my lunch break. I know sushi takes a while to prepare so I put in my order before stopping by the bank next door. The wait at FHB was maybe 20 minutes and I figured my food would be done by then. When I walk in, the food is not only ready, but there was no one attending the register for 5 minutes, which is a pretty long time to not be at the front, especially when it’s slow. I understand that employees need breaks, but shouldn’t at least one person be in the front to greet customers? When someone finally showed up, I asked if my food was ready and she told me it’d be about 10 min. I told her I ordered it almost 30 min ago and was wondering why I had to wait another 10 min. She told me they had other orders to prepare(and I assume they were phone orders because I was the only one in the store). All in all, I did not have a good experience. I am a loyal customer to Ninja Sushi, but I think I’ll keep my loyalty to the Waipio store from now on. So disappointed.

I will never eat here again. After eating a few pieces of sushi my mom got a stomach ache. As for me, I got the worst of the symptoms. I got food poisoning. Warning to all. Go to Genki Sushi or some place better that actually practices safe food prepping and handling.

I ate here on Friday. Cali rolls and Philly rolls had dry and old rice. The sushi inside wasn’t much better. Now I know why nobody else was there ordering or eating. Overall, very disappointed.

Wow. The girls that work here are immature. Lol. Gave this place another chance because I was hungry and it was convenient. I just finished doing some last minute errands from longs. I guess they saw my review from a while back and got offended by it. I placed my order and while I was waiting I heard the worker that works in the back and the cashier saying out out loud«why you come back for?!» They purposely said it loud enough for me to hear. Immature much? Lol. My review back then was based on honest experiences. You just showed me that you not also suck at serving fresh food but also suck at the basics customer service! Just plain rude. As a worker, your personal feelings shouldn’t affect your service. Horrible horrible service. The workers here need to grow up.

BEWARE!!! Especially when ordering take out!!! The quality of the ingredients was terrible! How could the sushi chef think that it is ok to use BLACK/GREY AVACADO? The rice and rice Krispies on the volcano roll were so stale. The gyoza was burnt yet slimy… I don’t know how that happens. There was no sauce in the Inari sushi. I called to get a refund because we could not eat the sushi after realizing what we were eating but they refused because we had eaten half already. I will not go back to THISNINJASUSHIAGAIN. The ninja sushi at Windward Mall was much better.

STAYAWAY! This is my first review so bare with me… I am pregnant and picky about what is in my food. I ask the cashier what comes in the shrimp tempura handroll and she replies«shrimp» with a look on her face practically calling me an idiot. Brushed it off. I ordered 3 items, and waited for almost 20 minutes. Now, the wait I don’t mind, even when there is no one who ordered before me. Waiting tells me that my food is being made FRESH. This is where I am horribly disappointed! I’m called to the front to pick up my order… it’s wrong, and incomplete. After waiting a little longer for my correct food to come out, I finally get my things and walk out.(By this point I’m pretty upset and a lot more hungry) once I drive away I clean my hands I reach in to find that HEYYYY my order is still wrong, they gave me MORE than I ordered(which I wouldn’t have minded had I not paid for the excess) and low and behold, there is more than JUST shrimp in the tempura handroll. Theres a cucumber too. PASS! What’s more, the rice is COLD. I have never waited for my freshly handmade sushi only to find that the food isn’t FRESH! Overall I give 2 stars, the 2nd only because the shrimp, though not hot, was still crispy and flavored well enough. Hope this helps someone.
