This small eatery, designed after a traditional«turo turo» eatery, is located in Waipahu’s Festival Market. I must b have walked passed this establishment dozens of times, but never ignoring its utilization of bamboo wood into its eatery. Manila Delights’ menu is limited to five items and their selection of soda fountain flavors. I decided on a classic soul food, Arrozcaldo. It is a rice porridge of chicken stock, ginger, two pieces of drumettes, with toppings of fried garlic and green onion. There is also a bulb of calamansi – the Filipino lemon or Filipino ponzu or Filipino lime – on the side. The bowl of Arrozcaldo is very filling and satisfying because it is served steaming in a fairly large bowl. The next time I’m there, I might try their other items.
