Four for lunch on a Friday. We ate outside which was lovely, nice shade and breeze. It’s right on the road but, up a hill so quiet too. We ordered shrimp scampi, chicken parm, special salad, and chicken cutlet, threw in a few special requests and everything was fine. Service was excellent, with informative and attentive staff. The other diners were everything from families, folks in their 20s, to a ladies lunch of seniors. Can’t wait to return!

Perfect place for a special occasion, such as a birthday for a special person. Ordered calamari for two as appetizer w/Merlot wine, snapper w/risotto and spinach, prime rib w/baked potato and asparagus. Closed with Glenlivet single malt scotch, chocolate bourbon pecan pie, and coconut cake baked on premises! Did not have to ask for bread w/olives and olive oil, water with lemon! Waiter not informed by staff that coconut cake should come with candle for«birthday girl», but quickly remedied situation. On top of this, live music to serenade us! A hidden gem in Ewing Township!

Blooming Grove Inn occupies the space of what was Lieggi’s on Upper Ferry Road in Ewing, NJ. It is a pleasant converted mansion on the slopes of the eastern side of the Delaware River Basin. My visits have always been at the bar for after work meetings and light socializing. The crowd is forty and fifty-somethings; all well behaved. The bartenders are excellent. Noah remembered my face, if not my name, after an absence of at least six months. Impressive. Last night, my margarita had the right touch of Padron and Cointreau, and my friend and fellow court gladiator enjoyed his aged malt whiskey. Behind us at the end of the bar, a mellow guitar vocalist played gently and sang from a decent list of soft rock standards. It was just enough to fill the gaps in our conversation, but seemed to disappear when we spoke again. We decided to have a bite at the bar, rather than score a table. I asked for the Meatballs I had seen brought out earlier, and Sam went for the Tapas plate. My dish was excellent. Tender, airy meatballs in a tart, garlic tomato sauce, sprinkled with dry Italian grated cheese. I only skewered a few pieces of cheese, greens, mushrooms off his plate, but thought everything was fine, if not enthralling. So, why three stars? It has nothing to do with the quality of the house, the kitchen, nor the bar. They were all fine. Blooming Grove just isn’t my cup of tequila. I prefer a less well kempt, more outside the box, more diverse, kind of place. It felt too tame. More a place to take your aunt and uncle, or business associates, when you don’t want them to know who you really are.

I just recently visited Blooming Grove in for the first time on Saturday evening. We sat in the back dining room that looked newly remodeled and it was beautiful. In the front near the bar there was live music playing witch we could hear in the back which suited us just perfect because it wasn’t too loud but it was beautiful background music. I ordered the short ribs and my husband ordered the crab cakes both were amazingly delicious. The service was fantastic and our server was very sweet and accommodating. I love that I found this place and can’t wait to return.

This is a cute place in the middle of nowhere. Everyone looks like a farmer who is voting for Hillary. Why do all the guys wear bow ties including the staff? Food is okay. Check for a groupon deal. The chocolate cake is memorable.

Amazing place. Sitting in the dining room next to the live fire place. It is a home style feel to it. Looks like a big house from the outside and a converted home inside. The cook has cooking skill. The food was prepared great from appetizer to main course. No complaints in any area of the food. The waitress was attractive, attentive an gave nothing but service with a smile. And her tip reflected it. Definitely a place to return.

My company had its Christmas sales dinner here. The place was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We had a small private room off the bar with its own fireplace. Very intimate. Now onto the important: we shared a bunch of dishes. The braised pork shank app was awesome. Like little lollipops. The duck and scallop entrees really stood out. Our server, Dawn(I think), was great. Energetic, knew the menu and fun. The wine list is extensive too! I would definitely recommend this place. A great find.

Went for lunch. Had the grilled chicken sandwich-very good. Husband got the reuben sandwich– loved it. Asian salad was great. Someone else ordered the turkey sandwich but did not want the Cole slaw– it came with Cole slaw — sent it back and waitress comped the sandwich at the end. Did not rush us out. Would recommend

After today’s dinner I have to bump this up into the 3 star range. I opted for the easiest dish on the menu, baked pasta with slices of sausage and meatball. My only worry was the ball o meat, but it was stellar. One of the best I’ve ever received in a restaurant. My aunt’s choice of halibut with a pumpkin risotto was nicely executed as well. Our server Alicia was a sweetheart, and offered half portions of 2 desserts when she saw we were having trouble deciding. We had the banana cream before and it was as good as we remembered. But the pumpkin bread pudding stole the show. If you have a chance, try it. I still feel the 5 stars are pushing it, but this experience was so much better than the one that generated the initial review. 3.75 K.I.S.S. stars

Dinner was very good. Our table had the salmon, prime rib and a pasta. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and we found the outdoor patio to be one of the prettiest in the area. Our service was excellent. Our server, Dawn was a rare mix of professional attention and service and a very peppy and sunny personality. We noticed that everyone seemed really happy to be working there. We can be high maintenance but she never skipped a beat with a big serving of «happy you’re here» !! We spent a bit of time at the bar and found it to be a really fun kind of bar. We highly recommend this lovely historic Inn and you can’t miss if you happen to get Dawn as your server. i

We had a really great dinner with friends at Blooming Grove Inn last night. The food was wonderful and very delicious, and all the staff were so cheerful and very helpful. The service was great, and even thought the place was very busy, we got all the attention we needed. We sat outside and listened to live music with Larry on guitar. He played all the songs we love from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Overall, it was a magical evening, we are going back as soon as we can arrange it!!!

I received an ad coupon for this restaurant and mistakenly threw it out. I decided to try it anyway. The outside grounds were very pleasant. Set up with umbrella tables overlooking the lawn. The night my date and I had gone was humid and too hot to sit outside. We ate inside. The inside décor is absolutely quaint in a pleasant rustic way. The food was terrific! My date and I got the prix fix. Very reasonable. $ 25.00 each .He got the crab cakes. I got a wonderful chicken dish. My first course was a delicious bowl of mussels. His was a delicious salad. Our dessert was wonderful. Great menu selections They also has a full bar.(Not sure if they have a happy hour) Service was wonderful. Great place

When I saw a Groupon coupon for this restaurant I figured it was a pretty good deal. I live only minutes away, but I’ve never been to this restaurant before. Its easily accessible, minutes from the highway. Its a secluded location and has that off the beaten path vibe. I commented that it feels like we’re on a cruise ship; we had so many attendants waiting on us when we arrived. My wife was somewhat disappointed that there were no organic or health conscious items on the menu. I started with french onion soup; delicious. The duck was excellent, a huge portion, everyone was impressed. I cant wait to visit again when the weather warms up so we can dine outdoors on the patio.

Desperate to find something new in the area that’s actually good, we relied on the reviews to guide us to Blooming Grove. After having dinner there we were stunned that this place got such good reviews. My friend ordered the scallops and found them way over cooked. I ordered meatballs over angel hair pasta and ended up with what tasted like a store bought jar of pasta sauce dumped over noodles. It was more of a soup than a pasta dish… not good. Wine selection was marginal and it was served in thick water glasses rather than a decent wine glass. Dessert was banana cream pie… Basically pudding with slices of bananas and a load of whipped cream on top to make it look big. Waste of calories. Sum sum: very expensive for what you get. Not at all worth it.

Saw this restaurant offer on Groupon. We were not familiar with The Blooming Grove Inn, later to find out that it was a new owner and the name changed. WONDERFULNIGHT! We made a reservation and arrived early. Had read reviews on Unilocal prior to making our Groupon purchase. We had a seat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine before our dinner reservation. The bartender, Noah, was such a great guy and the conversation with him and Steve was so casual comfortable, we decided to have our appetizer at the bar before we were seated. The Antipasto is out of this world! Best we have had. The chopped salad and plentiful cheese and salami surprised us. It as plenty to share. We postponed our dinner for a little while because the antipasto was so plentiful for us to share and the company of the staff was so enjoyable. Eventually we were seated and had the best dining experience in quite a while. The wait staff is so professional and pleasant. Our compliments to Jules and John. You are the best! You definitely are an asset to the Blooming Grove Inn. I had the roasted duck and my husband had the NY strip special. Both were cooked perfectly and the John and Jules made the best recommendations on both the entrees and dessert. There was live music in the bar/dining area. Larry played such nice, nostalgic music and very appropriate for fine dining. It was quiet and tasteful and very soothing. I would definitely classify it as fine dining with a very casual twist. Compliments to the chef, owner, bartender, wait staff and entertainment. We will definitely return and bring friends. A big thumbs up to the Blooming Grove Inn. We cannot wait for the weather to break and we can do outdoor dining. What a great place. Thank you, Steve and your staff who were truly wonderful.

Last week, my husband and I decided to use a Groupon we had purchased for Blooming Grove Inn($ 39.00 towards dinner for two of $ 70.00). I will simply state right out of the gate that our experience was exceptional in every way. We decided to sit at the bar because of the warm & welcoming ambiance we noticed as soon as we walked through the door. We ordered drinks first. My husband ordered an IPA and I ordered the house Chardonnay, Corbett Canyon, which is $ 6.00 a glass. The size of the pour is moderate, which is my only teeny tiny bit of feedback. Food: Appetizer: We started with the EXCEPTIONAL Chopped Anti Pasto Salad which we devoured. Every single ingredient was fresh and lovingly placed on the plate. The dressing was divine. Entrees: My husband ordered the Caramelized Sea Scallops on the recommendation of my neighbor at the bar, a wonderful lady(I’m so sorry I forgot your name) who suggested it as she kept nibbling at her partners’ plate. It arrived steaming hot, with giant seared scallops(I was jealous to be very honest), and my husband cleaned his plate(I think he actually licked it clean when I wasn’t looking). I ordered the Penne Ala Vodka which was delicious. The portion was HUGE, with crisp peas and large chunks of delicious sweet Italian sausage. To sum it up: Five Stars. So, for those of you who tried Blooming Grove Inn while they were finding their groove, I would only say that you should perhaps give them another try. For us, well, we are fans and will be returning very soon. xo

Can’t understand the bad reviews for this place. We have been coming here for a bit and the new owner has done a lot. The dinners are in the mid price range and it is very cozy. They have a large patio for the Summer and live music on the weekends year round. The tap selection is small but they have more than enough of a bottle selection. The whiskey selection is fairly expansive if that is your thing. All in all it is a great place to come and have a drink and great dinner!

We just had our first experience at Blooming Grove Inn which was recently taken over by new owners in November. The menu suggests high end fare but the tables say mom and pop-type diner style. They need to replace the plastic flower in a dirty bud vase with some fresh cut flowers or candles and the salt/pepper shakers reminiscent of diner settings should be exchanged for higher quality ones. the chairs are beaten up and need some refinishing along with the tired seat cushions. The place settings were all mismatched some new pieces mixed in with old ones. The linen napkins should be placed on the table not in the wine glasses reminds me of the 60’s. I understand that the new owners have remodeled but they should have gone the extra mile to freshen up the furniture and table dressings. We ordered the fresh ravioli which was excellent and piping hot. The bar was stocked with many wine choices all good high end labels. There was a metal dish of grated Parmesan cheese on the table which should be replaced with freshly grated cheese served by the wait staff. Freshly ground pepper was not offered but they will bring it to you if you ask. Again high end restaurants would offer grated cheese and pepper at every table. We order the surf and turf which was delicious and the halibut with an orange cream sauce and lobster risotto also excellent. I was disappointed with the choices for dessert which should be made by a pastry chef; I expected a much higher quality desserts and a menu we were informed that the desserts were brought in. we ordered the pumpkin cheesecake and it was good but I expected freshly whipped cream not canned. the only dessert made here was the banana cream pie, I cannot comment on that as I didn’t order it. There is definitely an identity crisis happening here which they need to figure out. But having said that the food is very good and prices reflect that. Wait staff was friendly and fast.

Bought my mother a $ 50 gift certificate here on Christmas Eve 2013, when it used to be called Paulie’s Anna Rose, my mother’s favorite restaurant. My family went there for dinner on Thanksgiving night 2014 and found it changed ownership, now the gift certificate is no longer valid. Apparently, they were honoring the gift certificates for six months after the sale but now that window has closed. It’s a shame that a loyal customer had to be let down so that they could pocket a mere $ 50, but in the long run they’ll miss out on more than $ 50 because 1. people reading this will think twice before choosing to dine there, and 2. some other lucky local restaurant owners stand to gain my family’s loyalty as we turn over a new leaf in our dining out routine.
