Over priced food, salad was wilted and service was horrible !!! Turning into another meat market on the lake !! I will give the valet crew 2 thumbs up however.

They’ve got a great location. That’s it. Bland food. Very bland. Like little to no seasoning. Music being played on the patio on a Saturday at 2pm was filled with cussing. Awesome for my kids to hear that. Owner is obviously anti-American with the blatant postings banning lawfully carrying citizens to exercise their 2nd amendment right. Sad. I’d have gone back and given them a chance to fix the food and curse laden music if it weren’t for this. Note to owner– The sign doesn’t prevent me or my wife from from carrying and protecting ourselves. It does however allow me to vote with my dollar and decide not spend it in your establishment again. Smart business people make a clear and conscious decision not to voice political views to avoid alienating blocks of valuable customers. Consider being more discreet with your anti American views for the sake of business success.

My friend and I have gone to Bayside every Tuesday for Happy Hour for over 4 years(obviously just in the summer) and now this year we won’t be… we go for the bartenders & view. But i will not pay to park to go there and spend money. Very disappointed in that change this year. I actually do understand the charging, but then they should give full price vouchers. I don’t understand why this location struggles.

Oh Bayside, I wanted so much to come here this summer and have something be different. Yet, nothing has changed. Service is shitty, computers have crashed, and 1 hours and 15 minutes in we got our app and are still waiting on a drink from our original order. So much potential.

Had my annual visit to Bayside this week and everything is the same. Bad food, terrible staff and a great view. Rumors are this place is on the market to be sold, the money is all in the land because the business is terrible.

View and location is great. Service was slow and my kid’s cheeseburger was way under cooked. A burger on the kids menu should not be a thick hockey puck patty that is under cooked To top it off, they now charge $ 10 for parking, but you get a $ 5 voucher. They are the only place in Excelsior that charges for parking. I understand they don’t want nonpatrons to park in their lot, but why not charge $ 20 and give a $ 20 voucher.

Great atmosphere — excellent boat docking staff — good place to party a bit — but the food is ALWAYS terrible. Like Rainforest Café terrible. Living right near the lake and often out on boats, I have tried and tried and tried. To no avail. And many different menu items too. The fries are soggy, the burgers tast fishy, the dips are runny and the lettuce is wilted. What’s the deal? I’m not looking for a Michelin rated chef experience or a display of culinary genius — I go to Spoon and Stable or Travail for that. But my god. Let’s at least get to Perkins quality. It can’t be that hard.

Slow bar service but beautiful location. Happy to see new items on the menu. Much. Needed.

Will never return. Our server was changed 3 times. After 45 minutes they told us they were out of what we ordered, citing they didn’t expect to be so busy. It was mother’s day. Duh. Waited another half hour for our second attempt at ordering. Finally told our server that we needed our food in 10 minutes or we needed to leave. We never saw him again. So we left. This place is earning their very bad reputation with the locals.

What a disappointment… I guarantee the only reason this place stays in business is because of their location on the lake and vicinity to Maynard’s. We were sat and 25 minutes went up before we were visited by a waitperson and that was only because I went and got the manager. The waitress took our order in a friendly manner, but hurried us through and never bothered to ask us if we wanted anything else, she just brought us our bill and that was it. While waiting on our food, I observed the rest of the waitstaff, none of them seemed friendly, the wrong food was being brought to the wrong tables(this happened twice just to our table alone, I witnessed it several other times at other tables). I personally do not want my food floating around the entire restaurant, especially the nasty bar area where my food is coming into contact with too many sweaty people and getting cooler as they walk around the room with the tray. The food was served mildly hot and didn’t seem fresh. I had the walleye wrap and I must say, McDonald’s has a better quality wrap than this! Also, the men’s bathroom was disgusting. I felt like I had to wash my hands ever AFTER I washed my hands! I will only go to Maynard’s for drinks and a meal going forward. Bayside has nothing but a bunch of drunks going there.

It was ok. Just didn’t appreciate the $ 25+ dollars in drinks that we didn’t order or drink. The waitstaff needs to bring the correct bill to their customers. Feeling kind of used…

Worst service ever. We had an early dinner here on May 8. Took forever for the server to take orders, deliver drinks or bring us our food. She was too busy chatting with her friends or doing God only knows what. Some people even got up and left! Will not be in a hurry to go back there.

Website says they don’t take reservations bit do take call-aheads. When I made the call, I was told they don’t do this but they shouldn’t be busy. Our party of 4 arrived at 5:30 on Friday night. Parking was terrible but the person I spoke with was right-there were about 3 other patrons. Our server was friendly. There were a few requests made they couldn’t help with(ex: no ginger beer for Moscow mules). Drinks were decent. We were impressed with the gluten free and organic menu options. I ordered the wild rice and mozerella fritters. They were good. Others ordered salmon and chicken and said they were ok. I tried a sweet potato fry, which was good. What were delicious were the tomato coulis served with the fritters and the spicy dipping sauce that came with the fries. Prices were fair for Excelsior. I would go back to Bayside Grille again.

Go for the location. Staff is friendly and the wait was not bad. Food is so-so. Very typical bar food. Clientele is mostly people who are drinking, 20 – 30 year olds(during the summer). Drink list is good(mixed, beer, wine, etc). Can’t comment on the accessibility of the front entrance as we came from the dock. Gendered bathrooms. Somewhat dingy.

Never have I felt so mistreated by event staff than at Bayside Grille. I would never recommend going to any of Bayside Grille’s events. They are greedy cash cows that are more concerned about making money than doing what is right. They verbally advertised the chance to be on a boat with a celebrity and charged $ 20 to get on said boat, but when the celebrity arrived, it was clear she would not even step one foot on the boat. Instead of refunding for falsely advertising the event, the event staff refused to refund any of its customers the ticket price. Bayside successfully made over $ 1000 yesterday by lying and deceiving 50+ people. NEVERGIVETHEMYOURMONEY, THEYWILLRIPYOUOFF.

Ugh. Bayside could be so much more. The 2 stars are given solely for the lakeside deck and outdoor bars(the saving grace), the attentiveness of one(1) bartender on a consistent basis, and the fact they have allowed the hosting of an annual memorial benefit. That’s it. The service is robotic at best. And we’re not talking Johnny 5 from Short Circuit robotic. That would be a damn delight. No, we’re talking Twiki from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century annoying robot, minus the personality. No, there is very little to write home about. Either the wait staff is lacking in knowledge or just apathetic, it’s a detriment to the establishment. Now we come to the point where the train carrying nuclear waste through a small town jumps the tracks and spills it’s contents in a fiery and gruesome manner, killing all inhabitants of said town. It’s the«food». Notice the quotation marks. I’ve tried multiple times to find a dish that doesn’t make my palate curse me and my tongue suffocate me in the night. I’ve first had the BLT. It was extremely memorable because the whole thing tasted like fish. Damnit! Serving bacon that tastes like fish is a sin punishable by eternity in the 6th circle of hell. I know we’re sitting on a dock, but if the BLT fell into a bucket of chum, one could at least prepare a new one. I’ve had a burger, too. And you know what that tasted like? You guessed it. A goddamn herring. Everything I’ve had seems to be marinated in briny fish. I digress. The fact that they have been able to host a memorial benefit for almost 15 years is wonderful. That shows that the owners are serious about their ties to the community. Kudos. Now if they can carry that over to the food, then there’s a winner. If you’re going to give this place a whirl, I recommend coming on a busy summer night solely for the people watching. The sh*tshow that you’ll experience is downright comical.

Walleye sandwich was quite good(crispy, moist and not greasy). Service was friendly and attentive, love that they almost always have live music here. Also, usually much easier to get a table and service here than at Maynard’s(granted, it’s much more of a townies bar, which is part of its charm) Portabello Mushroom Swiss burger leaves something to be desired(burger was an overly compressed frozen pattie, and the whole thing was dry). It seemed to beg for the moistness of fried onions. I managed to choke it down with some ketchup as Lubrication.
