I must say, I love hole in the walls! And this is it for Excelsior. Not saying a whole lot as it is yuppie Ville but I love it! Good crowd, good tap beer, and vet perceptive bartenders! If you like down to earth low key environment this is your place!

Best bar food ever. The walleye fingers, the Reuben and the grilled cheese with prime rib are all amazing. Low key atmosphere, friendly servers and the location all combine to make this the go to place in Excelsior.

This is a bar for bar folks! If you want heavy pours and good bar food come here! Yes, I’d prefer a lighter batter with my fire mushrooms but actually their option is perfect for the heavier pours they do!

Excelsior has so many new places to eat and drink, but Haskell’s is simply a classic! The location is prime! I love to sit on the small patio, enjoy a cold one or two, watch the lake traffic, and the people walking by. The food is typical bar fare, and I do love the wings! If your looking for fancy my suggestion is to head up the road. You know you will always see a friendly face! My take away is this… Positives: everyone knows you! Negatives: everyone knows you! Cheers!

Don’t bother. Walk on by. Very mediocre to poor bar food. We did, however, have a charismatic gentleman server.

Their Walleye fingers are cheaper, better, and arrive faster than the fish n chips at Jake O’Connors. Great place for fries, beer, onion rings, and to catch the game. Surprisingly, less crowded and cleaner than Maynard’s much of the time.

Gross bar food. If you’re an alcoholic, you come here. It’s pretty trashy and I always thinked it looked gross in Excelsior.

We were recently in Excelsior with a collection of great friends for dinner and drinks. A few of those friends were Excelsior locals/regulars and knew the area well. When we left the dinner establishment I noticed our crowd migrating around the corner and down the street. Not knowing the area well, I inquired as to where we were all headed. The response was«Haskell’s» in a tone that(oddly enough) made me feel as though I should have known that. After hearing many different stories of Haskell’s over the years I was glad to finally be able to visit. The bar was busy but not overcrowded, and they had live music. Just about everyone there looked as if they’d had a few, but the vibe was pretty friendly. Our drinks were cheap and came out quick. I can’t say much about the patio since it’s November and they had it closed. I also didn’t order anything to eat, but I’d expect the menu to be a complete assortment of the typical upper Midwestern bar fare. Since it overlooks Lake Minnetonka, Haskell’s probably isn’t what some would expect to find in Excelsior — and that’s definitely not a bad thing! I think most of the Haskell’s reviews intend to advise Unilocalers against setting expectations too high, and I certainly echo that sentiment. Don’t get me wrong — it’s not a trashy establishment or anything to that effect. Just a cool local bar to have some drinks and some laughs with friends. Cheers!

$ 13 for a shaved prime rib grilled cheese. Not very good, overpriced.

DONOTEATHERE… i am not kidding. On a recent excision to Excelsior I stopped in there with two others and had the worst dining excerience of my life… even the waitress hated the food there and knew it sucked(she literally told us «the kitchen here sucks») I watched her have to comp at least two meals during the course of ours The dumplings were fried… like crunchy, greasy, diaguating, inedible weirdness . One of the people I was dining with ordered a sandwich that came out on burnt… yes, actually burnt, bread. Only plus sides are the rootbeer they have there is delicious and they have a patio… but I will never ever go back there again to eat… even talking about this I have a bad taste in my mouth.

Stopped in for some lunch. The menu is bar food saying it nicely. I would not go here for a dining experience. The prices of the food are high also. A turkey club for $ 12?! A chicken or beef Queso for $ 13?! Whoa man, whoa! The service was good although our waitress looked like she just rolled out of bed. It’s a restaurant, have some appearance standards! The parking could be challenging so be aware of that. The best thing about this place is that they are located right by Lake Minnetonka. Good views and location give this place a potential 2.5 rating. Otherwise they get a 2 for everything else that I experienced. I would not go back, unless it was for just a drink or beer.

Sunny July day on the patio at Haskell’s. Good service and they serve Bacardi 151!!! How much better can it get? Ordered the Walleye and the food was hot and very tasty. I had a friendly waitress and great service. Nice lakefront bar/restaurant.

The food and service here is just okay. Don’t eat here if you are in a rush. The have a patio with views of Lake Minnetonka that make a great spot to sit in the summer though.

Haskell’s is a great place to grab a beer in the summer. It is located in the heart of Excelsior with great views of Lake Minnetonka and great outdoor seating. I recommend it as a spot to gather with a few friends and enjoy the beautiful Minnesotan summer. That being said… A few drinks is all I would buy at Haskell’s Port. The food is typical bar food: fried everything and pretty mediocre burgers and sandwiches. Don’t go to Haskell’s expecting a great dining experience with your family, because the clientele consists mostly of regular patrons who prefer to drink their dinners. All-in-all, I like Haskell’s. The bartenders are friendly and deft at doing their jobs, and it is a low-key atmosphere conducive to relaxing and enjoying friends and summertime. It is definitely worth a try if you’re in it for the right reasons.
