Cub Foods

The positives: Close to where I live, clean store, friendly and helpful staff.
The negatives: quite possibly the worst produce I have ever seen in a supermarket — I would challenge anyone to find a fresh pepper or fresh head of lettuce in this place. Limited selection.
The bottom line is that this is a smaller Cub so they often don’t have what I’m looking for and the produce sucks so occasionally I will have to drive to the Cub in Chanhassen which is larger and has very good produce.

If you ever find yourself on Highway 7 in southwest suburbs looking for a grocery store, just know that this Cub Foods will likely be fully stocked and ready for you to peruse their aisles. And this is coming from a person that’s had several really bad experiences at other Cub Foods locations. They include the following:
–Seeing crazy fights in parking lots.
–Having a police officer follow me throughout the ENTIRE grocery store, suspecting I would steal something. (Dude, I ain’t stealing a steak, aight?)
–Observing very dirty floors, abhorrent for a grocery store.
–Rude staff.
However, this Cub Foods makes me think differently about this local chain, and other joints should take note. Several reasons:
+It’s sparking clean. (Is that my reflection in the floor?)
+The staff members there are really friendly. (Shout-​out to the elderly women that call me «sweetie.»)
+Their produce and baked goods selections are quite nice!
+Meats are just so-​so, but you’ll find some high quality steaks at decent prices.
Their parking lot, which is shared with their neighboring businesses, is quite cray cray. But if you can get past that (alive) you’re good.
I would definitely return to buy some goodies!

What an awesome Cub Foods! It’s well lit, well organized, clean… excellent prime selection of produce, fish and meats. The Best Cub Foods ever! LOVE!

I had a great experience with the meat department 12−29−13 at around 7pm. They had live lobster on sale for the week. He went out of his way to see if there was still lobster left from that day. Got it for us, boxed it, and was extremely helpful and courteous. I was EXTREMELY impressed with him.
