Avante On Main Street

I started going to stylist Jamie who is so very good! I first went to her for color correction for a bayalage treatment gone bad. Jamie safely (which is key when doing highlights on fine hair) fixed my color, using multiple techniques to achieve the desired result. After such a good experience, I recently when back for another color treatment (looks fab!) and hair cut. She took the time to assess all aspects of my current ‘do, from color dimension to thickness to styling habits in order to color and reshape my cut for the most optimal style for my hair type and personality (also taking into account what is trendy). This is the best haircut I’ve had in 30 years — no exaggeration. She is super knowledgeable and clearly takes great care in her approach. Cannot thank or recommend her enough!

Very disappointed. Just moved to the area, looking to get a balayage color. Called the salon beforehand if the stylist could do that technique for me. When I got to the salon everyone was friendly. I showed my stylist the picture and she decided to do foils instead of painting on my hair. When done the stylist had me in the mirror for two seconds and then hurried me up to pay and make another appointment. In which I declined. When I got home I realized that my hair looked nothing like the picture. Not even the slightest bit. I called the salon asking for a redo and they said I could only use the stylist I had before! But she doesn’t know how to do the hair that I want! After talking to the store manager who was condescending and not very knowledgable on her own stylists abilities she told me to come in to the salon and have them review the picture. Not even giving me the option to get it redone! This place is really expensive and should have stylists who are knowledgeable and understand the different techniques for the prices we are paying. I would definitely not recommend this salon.

Started going to Avante on Main Street about 6 months ago. It’s very Clean. The Staff is very nice and helpful. Great Products.
I am lucky to have Gabby as my Stylist. She is Amazing! I love the way she cuts and styles my hair. I recently changed the color and I’m so happy with it. It’s refreshing to know that you will walk out of the salon looking and feeling great!

Accommodating, knowledgeable and very friendly staff. Large salon, about 20 stations and stylists. Redkin shop. Expensive. Cuts run $ 40-​$ 60.

I’ve been two times now with two different stylists. Both were fantastic. I had a color and a cut and loved both. Very professional. Pricing is reasonable and they are knowledgable about products. Very pleased.

My stylist is Kate. I have been with her 2+ years and I will never go anywhere else. I have never been with another stylist for longer then a year because it felt like they got bored with doing my hair. Her cutting skills are amazing. I only cut my hair every 3 months or so and it styles and looks good that whole time. Her knowledge of coloring is extensive. My husband and son also see Kate. I cannot say enough good things about her.

I went here for years, but now I’ve moved to Lancaster which is the only reason I would switch salons… though I’m half tempted to make the drive anyways.
My stylist is Karen. She is sweet, great with my hair, patient when I have to reschedule and always listens to what I want and makes good suggestions. Most importantly, she knows what she is doing. I have short hair and she can cut it so I don’t look like a boy and I look sexy and cute. That is a surprisingly rare talent among stylists in my experience.
I’ve always gotten my eyebrows done and my hair dyed and styled. Never had a bad experience. The salon is friendly, clean and, in my opinion, reasonably priced for consistently high quality service. I highly recommend.

First appointment EVER at Avanté yesterday. (I’m new to the area).
Rachel is an incredible stylist. Recently promoted, so she’s a bit pricier but totally worth they money! I absolutely cannot recommend her enough. She totally transformed my broken, sad, destroyed-​from-​hair-​dye/​bleach hair to beautiful, soft, healthy locks! I called in at 11am on a Sunday (today) and they fit me in at twelve. I had colored my hair and needed it toned, Karen did my hair and it looks much better, it was quick and very reasonably priced. I will definitely be going back and not experimenting on my own hair anymore.

Caitlin was great! Went here for the first time last week, made a last minute appointment (booked online and saved 20%!). I got in with Caitlin and will follow up with her from now on. All I knew I wanted was a trim and some highlights and she gave me her opinions and took it from there. Happy that I found this place!

I’ve been getting my hair colored and cut by Dani Black for several years — for as long as she’s been at Avante On Main Street. She always does a stellar job and she’s so friendly! They just remodeled and everything looks so nice — I always thought it looked great before! I highly recommend Dani B!

This place is GREAT! It’s huge and clean. The staff is all just adorable and incredibly kind. I went to Rachel and I will never go anywhere else! It’s probably the most I’ve paid for a visit to the salon but it is BEYOND worth it. They use only the best products and are very knowledgeable. Not once did they try to jam buying products down my throat which I loved. They will explain the products they use to you without being a salesperson about it. I would, and will, recommend Avante AND Rachel to anybody looking for a place they can really trust.

I’ve been an avante customer for almost two years. I had horrible luck in the past with salons closing or my stylist leaving. I called avante explained what I was looking for and they set me up with Kate, Love her! I ended up telling my mom about avante and now she is a regular there too! Kate is who I primarily go to but I have had Lindsey do an updo for me and she did a great job! I got married this past September and had my bridal party go into the salon for hair and makeup — every single updo was amazing! And every single stylist/​make artist was phenomenal! I am very glad I found avante and would recommend to anyone looking for a great cut/​style!

This salon is so hit or miss depending on who u go to. I don’t usually go to the same person being that I’m always last minute when scheduling appointments so I take whoever is available so could be my fault but this recent time I’m very disappointed. Hair shampoo was terrible hardly even washed it. Pretty much rushed through no massage nothing. Stylist was unfriendly

I’ve been coming to Hans for about 5 years and he’s never given me a reason to look anywhere else for a salon. He’s passionate about his work and truly cares that you leave the salon feeling great about your service. Hair color is certainly more of an art than a science and we always look to tweak the base and highlights to give it a natural look. He even came to my house for my wedding and found time to make 5 boys look very handsome!

Hans is a the best! I have never gotten as many compliments as I have since he’s been doing my hair. He has a real eye for color and really knows his stuff. Right off the bat he knew to gently suggest I might be better off with a cooler brown as a base color for my highlights. It has made all the difference. For years I was getting the same warm brown from different salons and stylists and no matter how much I paid it was never really right. I couldn’t figure it out and he knew right away. I’ve been with Hans now for 2 years and had many different cuts and have loved them all. He really listens then works his magic.

I have followed Hans for almost 11 years and continue to see him at Avante. I have always been thrilled with my hair cut and color. Has is awesome! He listens to what I want, makes excellent recommendations and makes me feel like I’m fabulous. I have recommended him to a number of people and they have become permanent clients as well. Hans is the best!

Spring, Summer, Fall I still hate the hair cut I got at Avante. I was trying to grow my hair, this was discussed and made clear. Without asking the stylist cut 2−½ «off my bangs. Think Jim Carry from Dumb and Dumber. Then came the lying «I only cut ½» followed by the apology «my bad». Next the compensation your next cut will be at a discount. As if their would be a next time.

If you don’t want to mess with your hair, stay away from this place! The hair «stylists» only yap and try to upsell products and services. For $ 200 bucks I got a bad hair cut and a horrible color service. The stylist conveniently curled my hair to hide the cut and mentioned repeatedly I should talk to him directly for any issues. Now I would be a fool to go back to correct the coloring to the same place!

Seriously, Frank, Rachel, Caitlin Lilly and Jules… they have all been fantastic. So glad I found this place!
