Bonu Cafe Express

Delicious! Very affordable for very generous portion sizes! While I was there the owner himself made sure to check on each of the customers in at that time. Food is made fresh, but gets done quickly! I highly recommended Bonu to anyone looking for a nice place to eat.

Ive come he mant times for lunch and there are a number of highlights. First is kalaches. Order ahead if you can because they are made to order and take some time. They are warm doughy with choice do filling; fruit or meat. Delicious.
Freshness. So far everthing has been fresh and well prepared.
Friendly; Waitstaff is very attentive and personable.
The house salad dressing. Just the right amount of sweetness an flavor.

This café is a fantastic place. The food is fresh and well prepared. The coffee is excellent. It is wonderful to have a café for coffee & dessert as well as meals. We have eaten breakfast and lunch here and both were delicious. I had the Philly cheese steak for lunch and it equals the best in downtown Philly. The omelet is soft and fluffy and satisfying. There is this eastern European slightly sweet pastry called Kolache that is filled with fruits or cheese and is very tasty and goes great with coffee. The ambiance is warm & welcoming and I am so happy we have such a place in our area.

This place is a hidden gem. I have been lucky enough to find it from almost the beginning. Everything I have ever tried here was delicious and worthy of mention. Every single last friend I have introduced to this place has mentioned that they must bring so and so back to eat. This has never happened to me at any other establishment. All the food is so fresh and the price beyond reasonable. To this complete cheapo this is a WIN!
Kolaches — I have tried every single last one. These are great for snacks or to fill out a meal. All of them are delicious. Just note there are onions in the veggie on (my system objects, but I still eat them sometimes. Yes, they are that delicious). I particularly care for the blueberry, which has a cream in it, and tastes almost like a pastry blueberry cheesecake. Other of my friends particularly liked the pepperoni pizza one.
The Chicken florentine sandwich is amazing. The chicken breast is SO tender (yes, chicken breast is TENDER). And the fries and or salad that comes with it is delicious. The fries are one of the best in the area. They look commonplace, but they are fried just right. The salad is always very fresh. The house salad dressing is out of this world. It is a like a shallot vinagrette. There are other options, but if you can do the house vinagrette — do it!
One new item on the menu is their Lamb Koobidah (sp?). yes, Yes, YES! Is all I can say. The basmati rice is make perfectly, and lamb tender. I believe you can get it as a kabob type Lamb or cube type lamb. You cannot go wrong either way. And it comes with a salad. I am drooling now and must finish this quick and go order some. :p
The BIG news is that I heard from the owner that they are going to start a new dinner menu. Given how amazing lunch is, I cannot wait to eat through the whole dinner menu! Ok, speaking of which, away to Bonu’s for dinner, now that I have made myself incredibly hungry. ummm YUM! Seriously, TRY THIS PLACE OUT… wait, on second thought, go away so I don’t have endured the newly long lines.

Loved the fish tacos! The sauces that came with were amazing, particularly the green (cilantro?) sauce is incredible. Food is fresh and delicious and the staff is incredibly friendly. I will absolutely return to Bonu, so happy to have found them!

Move aside Chipotle, hello Bonu! The fish burrito has definitely won my heart and belly! The chunks of perfectly seasoned fish and rice, cubes of avocado, and sprigs of cilantro make this a hearty and flavorful burrito. Everything is made fresh! I crave this burrito about once a week! The fruit kalachis are also sweet and flaky. If they were open later I’d frequent it even more which may or may not be a good thing! The owner, Bijon, is also the kindest and friendliest soul. It’s the perfect atmosphere for a comfort meal.

I was in the area for a business trip and my fellow coworkers and myself were searching for somewhere to eat and we saw Bonu Café Express on Unilocal and it had great reviews. We were not disappointed at all! We immediately told the people working there that we were in a hurry and they assured to us that they could make anything on the menu and get us out in less than 20 minutes. Not only was the service some of the best I’ve ever had, but their food was great too. They are known for their chicken quesadillas — which is something I found rather unique for a Café. The quality and quantity of the food easily surpassed the price and was worth every penny. This is a smaller place so this may not be the best location for large groups, but if you are by yourself or with a small group then I highly recommend coming to Bonu Café for some food.

Very tasty fish tacos… quaint eat in area… delicious spicy chicken egg rolls… interesting menu… fantastic lunch there… check it out!!!

I came here on a Friday evening at 7pm, well within their hours, to find Bonu Café Express dark and locked. Is there something I should have known about?
Based on all of the positive reviews, I was pretty psyched to visit. Hope it’s open if I ever come back!

Tonight was our 4^th time here… And the 4^th time we had great, fresh food and really genuine service. Nothing we have tried on the menu disappointed-​and we are going to go back for breakfast next time! The kolaches are fantastic!

I drive by here all the time but never bothered stopping by. One weekday evening my girlfriend and I were looking for some place healthy and local to eat. Having moved to the area recently, we looked on Unilocal and found Bonu. They also have a location down the street in the Malvern area. I’m glad Unilocal lead us here because this is now my new favorite local café spot! The place has a lot of different seating options from booths, to small tables, to couches, to counters. It has a nice cozy feel and is a great place to grab a coffee, grab a bite to eat or even to study. They had a lot of things on the menu I wanted to try and didn’t know what to get. The owner recommended their bonu fish burrito wrap and I’m so glad he did. It was not only made fresh, it was healthy and very flavorful. We even ordered some kolaches (a turnover looking pastry that is savory, cheese or fruit filled) for dessert, that is also perfect for breakfast, brunch or a snack. I crave the fish wrap and the kolaches all the time when I drive by but they unfortunately close early 2p on Sundays, and earlier on mondays. Being relatively new to the area, I don’t think many people know about them. They also do catering for events and their prices are pretty reasonable and affordable. Thanks Bonu for the awesome service and foods! You guys are the best!

Great take out. We’ve hit every genre (gyros, burritos/​tacos, burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc.) and everything has been awesome. Our new go to take out place.

It’s a good place but FIVE stars is way too high. Three and one half stars would be my limit. The Malvern Parent of this outlet has been chronically
empty. That is not cheers for Bonu. I love their Slovak kolaches. They are great sweet and savory turnover type snacks.

This place is amazing! The staff is very friendly and the food was awesome! I ordered the avocado BLT and I loved it! I definitely recommend this place to anyone.

The food here is very good. It is made fresh for every order. I will eat here every time I work in the area. Be sure to try the Kalaches, both the breakfast and fruit ones. Of course I had to try a cheese steak while here and this place makrs a very good one. The sunrise quesadilla is wonderful for breakfast.

Stopped in this morning for a late breakfast. Split the chicken breakfast sandwich and fresh fruit bowl with my fiancé. The owner who took our order was accommodating and made the sandwich in a wrap for us. It was delicious and the fruit bowl was fresh.
We highly recommend this place for delicious food and a friendly atmosphere and service.
I can not wait to go back for dinner.

We stumbled upon Bonu thanks to Unilocal and grabbed lunch. The place was small but there was another couple there as well so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a Turkey Rueben and Lamb Gyro and sat outside. Our order was brought to our table within 10 minutes and the portions were small but suitable for lunch. We would return. The service was very good.

It’s really not that good I don’t know what these people are rating I had the gyro it was okay… it’s a mediocre café that’s all

Excellent food with even better service! I recommend the Chicken Florentine sandwich and the Blueberry Kolache is amazing!

I wish I could choose more than 5 stars! This place is amazing, I will be returning all the time. My fiancé and I just enjoyed the most amazing sandwich: their ahi tuna sandwich, it was fantastic! Also, I had the bonu burrito which was also very good (fish, avocado, rice, vegis, etc).
Overall, the food was healthy and fresh and very good. The price was just right and the service was great. Highly recommended for lunch time or a quick bite!
