I have eaten at this place many many times. I find the other reviews to be vindictive and possibly an attempt to destroy this business. I have never had a bad meal here and have tried about 8 different items. I usually come back to the Reuben. It would be nice if they changed up the menu from time to time or offered a daily special. I will agree with the comments about the service. While the service isn’t slow, it lacks excitement or a showing that they enjoy their job and customers. I’ll most likely be back on my next work trip.

This place is horrid. The service is subpar for a third world country. The bar tender was rude and she wanted money up front before each drink rather than leave a tab open. The bathroom toilets leak when you flush, releasing a foul odor. Avoid unless you have an iron stomach and don’t care about how the staff treats you.

We went there on a Saturday night for some drinks and live music. While they had a decent beer selection, the service was horrendous. We sat at a table and watched server after server pass us by. We ended up going to the bar for our drinks. If we had planned to eat we would have been even more upset. Granted they were very busy, and perhaps the servers saw we had drinks and assumed we didn’t need anything, but if we had been waited on we would had had another drink or two and probably some appetizers. It’s a shame, when it was Winners Circle it was one of our favorite places.

3:30 Sunday afternoon, 4 people and I think they all work here. Dirty bar and 12 tvs with no football, just fuzz. Ummm. One drink and out.

Not nearly as bad as ALL reviews would have you believe. I too have found myself becoming«angry typing guy» at times when writing reviews, but this place has gotten crushed, perhaps unnecessarily. Our server was friendly and attentive. Our food was about as expected. Basic pub fare. It won’t win them a Michelin star, but that’s not the point. They have a respectable beer list and the food portion size assures you won’t leave hungry. You can certainly find higher quality dining experience elsewhere, but I can assure you that you can spend a lot more and have a lot worse experience. In a pinch this place works for a bite.

First time here will also be my last time here. The service was terrible and the food wasn’t much better. My wife and I both ordered French onion soup which they forgot. Even after I told them, they still only brought one soup out… but they billed me for both. The good was lousy, the restaurant was cold, and the service was slow… spend your money elsewhere

I would give it less if I could. We went for happy hour after work on a Friday night. It was not at all crowded when we got there. We asked for a table for 10−12…waited ½ hour to realize they had given our table to another large party not realizing there were 2. We waited another 45+min(should have just went across to Pour House) to finally be seated in the party’s table who got our table after they left! We then wait 15min before we see a server, who then proceeds to spill a tray of waters, soaking one of our party’s purses. Now I was a server for many years, I get it, spills happen… but this was a cluster all around. Finally after getting there at 5:30, we place put order around 7:15. Then the food comes and they forget one order, a simple Cesar salad… this somehow took another 15 min to come out. Food was mediocre at best and the manager offered lame excuses and a free round as we were basically paying out bill. Skip this place… there are plenty of places in Exton with good food and much better service.

Asked for a beer said they were about to kick that keg so there’d be no head, tried it anyway and the beer sucked. Then he recommended a different gluten free option couldn’t even finish it found out on my bill that it was $ 10 or something which is absurd. Bartender refused to get a water bowl for my dog! I no longer wonder why the place was dead on a Friday night. Terrible business

When one first walks in it is apparent that the conversion from the Winners Circle to Doc Watson’s was done cheaply and in a big hurry. I guess they figured that no one would notice. I ordered a corned beef sandwich that was supposed to be a large sandwich. What I got was more bread than meat. The corned beef was bland and lacked any real flavor. Huge disappointment. My wife ordered a cheese burger that was supposed to be medium. I am sure we ask have heard the phrase«ashes to ashes«. They did a fine job of returning the meat to ashes. The value for the money is poor. In fact the prices are inane for what you receive. Not good.

Awful experience tonight. The food itself was average at best. For example, the nachos used cheese wiz instead of real cheese. My burger was ordered medium and it was served well done. It was painfully slow service that was blamed on the adjacent Riverstone café kitchen. Worst of all, there wasn’t even a stout on the draft menu. Will never visit again.

Food ok but prices are way too high for a hole in the wall sports pub. Beer was nice and cold, the highlight.

Bands!!! DONOTPLAYHERE. Unbelievable and brief experience. We read the Unilocal reviews on our way but assumed people exaggerated. Nope!!! We drove two hours to the restaurant from Delaware to play a scheduled live show with the band. We arrive, are told to unload around the back, which we do, then we park again to grab some food before the show. We’re told by the manager as soon as we ask for a table that the show may be cancelled because the sound guy isn’t here/coming/answering the phone/… We thought he was initially joking but as we sat down, we realized he wasn’t when we saw the other band’s body language talking to the manager. Instead of the manager being professional, he sent the waitress out to say the show has been cancelled and the manager will come talk to us. We promptly walked outside to call the dozens of people coming from Kennett and Delaware to eat dinner and see us play. Extremely unprofessional and disappointed with the handling of the situation. We met up with all of our friends and family and drove across the street to the Pour House; we’d all much rather give our money to this place! Do yourself a favor. Better food and drinks(and service) over here.

Stopped in today with a friend, there were three people in the entire establishment. Bartender took a while to come over and get out drinks and when she did they were out of three of the beers on list. The woman next to me waited half hour for her soup, me and my buddy finished our beer and walked across the street to pour house where the beer was flowing, food was great, and the service was quick.

If i could give it a lower score, i would rate this in the negatives. This place wont pay anything to bands that travel to play and on top of that, wont even discount anything for the bands. The server was great but when confronting the manager, he was very pompous about the fact that they will give nothing to the bands regardless of the crowd or the distance they travelled.

Giving it three stars– its obvious they are working out kinks in the new management but here’s what I will tell you: go to see amazing local live music. The bands that are playing there are incredibly hardworking, talented, skilled musicians. I have been there three times now to specifically to see live music– and if that is what you are into you will not be disappointed. There is a separate bar in the band room that apparently will have draft beer available(for now just bottles), «very soon» from what I was told. The beer selection is great and the bartenders/wait staff is good and attentive. The food reviews are justified and just«okay» so I hope this gets resolved soon, because I would love to dine there before a show. But seriously folks: go to see a comedy show or the music, it is worth it. Hey owners of Doc’s: get your act together because we want to love your business!

First time visiting. Bartenders were nice and friendly, but food and drink seem overpriced and not worth it. A regular corned beef sandwich(NOT overstuffed, and not that much meat at all) with fries was $ 14. Draft Beers were $ 6-$ 8 during happy hour. Winner’s Circle seemed better.

Omg!!! Get there on a Saturday night and they have a dozen open tables but can’t seat us. I ask why and the manager starts harping at me about all his tickets in the kitchen. And that he is under staffed, and he has to cook the river stones food. He then tells the hostess you deal with this and storms off. WOW! Left will never go back. Sounds like the service reviews are on the money.

Wow… really really bad. Just… no. Horrible service. Server was pleasant but honestly just clueless, rarely around and incredibly forgetful. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Save yourself the trouble.

We were excited to try a new option locally. Well… don’t bother! They’ve been open for at least 2 weeks and they should have worked the kinks out by now. The place was empty at 6:00 on Saturday night, only about 4 other tables so no excuse for bad service and slow food. We ordered draft beers… took over 10 min to get them. It took 40 minutes to get our food, and after it was delivered the waitress never stopped to check on us. 10 minutes later I flagged her down to request the missing items. The food was average and the prices high…$ 14.50 for chicken sandwich where the chicken was tiny compared to roll. The managers stood around chatting with staff but never checked in customers or asked to help. Go across the street to Pour House!

Came here for the first time tonight and it will be my last. Service was atrocious and the food was just okay(not worth the price). I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Go across the street if you want a decent burger without waiting an hour.
