Freshicas Juice Bar

I can’t believe its taken me this long to discover such an excellent smoothie spot! Especially right next to my favorite local coffee shop, Booskerdoo. Coffee and a smoothie = a match made in heaven :)

Tucked away from street-​view, this wonderful gem shares a space with a local deli… and a space in my local belly. The juices and smoothies are beyond fresh. The staff is top-​notch and will help you choose from their varied, somewhat intimidating, menu. If you’re new to drinking veggies and things like flax seed, as I was, you may have no idea what you’re looking at. They’ll even create something unique for you, or shake it up with ice for a cooler, more refreshing beverage. I once asked them for a custom creation, «veggie enough for a fitness model but peanut buttery enough for the fat kid inside me.» The smoothie she made blew me away.

Mmm… green juice! As I live almost an hour away from Freshica’s, I only ever come here to pick up juice cleanses, as they’re the most reasonably priced, *mostly organic* option I’ve found within an hour of me (I live just outside NYC – and won’t lie, use it as an excuse to eat at Good Karma Café, right there on W. Front Street, which is totally vegan, totally awesome, and only a few minutes away). The owner is extremely easy to get in touch with – you can text, call, or email orders – she responds very promptly. Moreover, she’s helpful and accommodating where custom cleanses are concerned. I prefer ultra-​low sugar cleanses, and she’s more than willing to remove the fruit from the juices featured on the menu, per my request.
This juice bar is set inside of a deli and has plenty of seating (sort of strange, though, having a «typical» Jersey deli serving up typical deli food next to a healthy juice bar, but I digress). Parking is plentiful, also. I can’t comment on the wait for say, a single juice, because as I said, I only ever pick-​up cleanses that are ready and waiting.
In the future, I think it would be really cool if they offered up some solid food in addition to juices and smoothies – think acai bowls, wraps, salads, energy bars/​balls, etc. Oh, and FYI, you can often find deals on cleanses posted to their Facebook page, so be on the lookout!

This is a great juice and smoothie bar. The owner is very friendly and super helpful. I love to make green monster smoothies at home but this is a great alternative when I don’t want too deal with the mess. It is worth a visit and if you don’t know what to get ask for a recommendation you won’t be steered wrong.

Great place, very friendly. Wish they allowed you to email or phone in orders, as it gets a little crowded at times.

I never thought a green drink could be delicious but somehow Freshicas gets it done. The emerald green was tasty and definitely energized my good germs to beat my sick germs. The owner was educated in nutrition and was helpful in guiding me on what drink to get and the effects it would have. I’ve gone back one other time since and I had a very similar experience so I see myself becoming a regular. Delicious drinks and great knowledgeable service –this place is as good as it gets!

The only organic juice bar in the area, with juices pressed to order. The Detox gets you going in the morning: wheat grass, beet, apple, celery, carrot = delicious. They have smoothies and protein shakes, too. GREAT!
