Benny’s is our absolute favorite breakfast spot! Every dish we’ve ever had has been more than expected. The waitresses are great, very friendly, and recognized us on our second visit. The food comes out quick and hot and delicious!

In the tradition of the small corner luncheonette and neighborhood restaurant that only the locals know about, Benny’s is in a class by itself. With virtually no advertising — other than stupendous and properly prepared plates of old fashioned goodness — good taste abounds. Get there early as the place fills up fast. Benny’s offers solid staples lovingly prepared, Don’t be surprised at the ample portions. And how about those PASTRIES!!! What a wonderful Bergen County treat!!!

Great place for breakfast and brunch. 1) Enjoyed the specials: Biscuits and southern sausage gravy and French toast with Nutella. 2) The price is very reasonable. 3) Great place for Sunday brunch.

Two words — Homemade Pastrami. Been looking for somewhere closer to me than Morristown to get the good stuff and since i am in Paramus at least once a week this is my new go to! I had the large to go since i expected to wait at the DMV nearby for inspection. It was huge. I could only finish half and i’m no slouch in the appetite area. When i got the other half home i had to throw it on the scale and it was well over half a pound. A pound plus sandwich for less than $ 13 bucks? No where else I know of comes close. As far as atmosphere someone called it a dive, I have to disagree. I’ve been to some dives across the country but this was just what it says, a luncheonette. Nothing fancy but clean, busy and very good service at the register for my take out order. I can’t wait to get back.

I have been here twice in 2 weeks– both times for lunch as I work in the area. I had read many reviews and decided to give this place a try. First time I had a tuna melt, probably the biggest and tastiest one I have ever had. Got some fries with cheese and gravy to go with it… thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. The waitress had a lot of personality which I loved. I ordered my lunch and it was placed in front of me within a few minutes. No long wait for food to arrive. I like the décor and the«family feel». Will definitely go back again soon.

I had the steak and eggs here– it was ok. What I would definitely recommend is the sausage gravy. My brother got it as part of his dish so i asked for a side of it and used it on my home fries. SO good. The waitress we had was pretty funny. ok atmosphere. Gets packed but quick turnaround. No real waiting area. Its a good casual spot to stop in for a diner like breakfast.

Rating this 2 stars because of the service… Their food was mediocre and the way our waitress served us wasn’t up to par. She took long for everything and even forgot something for our coffee.

Great service and food, very friendly spot, good for a Sunday brunch, not that busy so you should be served fast.

Overall Score: 4 Service/Ambiance Rating: 4 Food Rating: 4 Discovered Benny’s Luncheonette on Unilocal and found it to live up to my expectations of a «one dollar sign, four-star rated» restaurant. The server was lovely and the place felt like a locals’ spot. Personally, I would have preferred the interior to be a bit more modern as everything felt aged. I was surprised to learn that Eggs Benedict is only available on weekends. I ended up getting a croissant with bacon, egg and cheese with a side of curly fries. It wasn’t anything spectacular but good nonetheless.

A really fun, old diner! The ladies who took care of me were very friendly and easy to keep a conversation with. I decided to change it up a bit, and ordered a filet of fish sandwich. It was so good! All their prices are a little high($ 9), but not too bad. I wish it came with fries. The sandwich was exceptional, and I’m sure it wasn’t even one of their staples. I’ll be coming back here soon!

What a lovely brunch spot! The place is very retro diner. Our server«LuLu» was hilarious. She’s an older women with HUGE humor and sas! The entire place is filled with delightful characters. The owner(or manager) at the register was also a doll. The food was strikingly beautiful as well as insanely tasteful. The portions are also fantastic. I’d reccomend… um anything on the menu. I tried everyones dish at the table and I wanted all of it. Great job Benny’s. I’m happy we found you!

The egg benedict is out of this world! I ordered the breakfast special that comes with potatoes. Very generous serving size at a very reasonable price. Everyone who works here are super nice and friendly. Will definitely come back and also try the Benny’s bakery next door

Went in again today. Waitress was super friendly. I also saw another waitress wearing a Halloween type vest which I totally loved. It makes the place feel more homey. After I drank enough 1st Ward coffee to jumpstart an elephant, I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and my friend ordered the pumpkin pound cake French toast with a side of bacon. Both dishes were amazing. That pound cake French toast put together tow very unexpectant items together and it was great. You would think the«pound cake» being a heavier item the dish would be too rich and it wasn’t. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the fact that there was no English muffin underneath my crab cake Benedict. I felt like I was missing that additional starch especially because the crab cake was very soft. It was absolutely delicious, but I needed either the toasted English muffin or my really crispy crab cake to off set the dish a little bit. But still it was amazing! The next time I come I am ordering the two eggs with a homemade biscuit and sausage gravy. I am dying to try it. The sausage gravy is something I really only eat when I travel, as it is not as popular of a dish to have on a menu here in NJ. Posted pics of our dish!

This place didn’t have the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had, but it was good enough to satisfy my craving. It was pretty packed because we went on Saturday. They seemed a bit understaffed and busy, but the staff was still friendly.

What a fun place for breakfast. Divey, huge portions and friendly staff. This is the perfect place to bring kids on a Saturday morning. We ordered the pancakes and omelette. I tried the Spanish Omelette — I liked it, but the flavor was a bit much so I swapped dishes with my boyfriend halfway through. His was the Western omelette — very yummy. Coffee was good too.

Wow! Breakfast was amazing! Belgium waffles stuffed with Nutella, topped with bananas. My wife had the same but got peanut butter filling instead. Great home fries, crispy bacon, fresh coffee. Service was terrific. This place feels like it did when hanging out at my friend’s Mom’s kitchen when I was younger. Lots of laughter, yelling, and that comfy«you’re at home» feeling. Our server, «Lulu» tells it like it is in a friendly — like she’s known you forever sort of way — and that’s refreshing! Definitely coming back to this hometown spot during a weekend — when they expand their menu a bit to offer some additional items like biscuits with sausage gravy. Don’t have to travel south-of-the-border — enjoy that southern treat here! Only wish they were open later in the day! They stick to their luncheonette hours, unfortunately. Well, eat hearty early at this place and then have a salad and water for dinner!

Cute mom and pop 50’s style diner! This place is old fashioned. As Andrew M. said in his review, the service is kind of rough and tough. The waitress asked my boyfriend to reach into her pocket to pull out the hot sauce because her hands were full. Haha. The attitude gives the place a personality though. I like it. We got a waffle with peanut butter and bananas. Aside from the delicious peanut butter and bananas, which remain constant no matter where you go pretty much, the waffle was extremely good. Very soft, definitely home made right there. My omelette, a huge 4 egg omelette, was made perfect. The corn beef hash was very excellent and different from how I’ve normally had it made before. I don’t know exactly what they did different. Maybe extra onions? I couldn’t put my finger on it but I liked it. Also, the meat to potato ratio was bigger than other places which normally have it cut in half while Benny’s had more meat. All in all, I will definitely be back.
