Oh Hey! Vampires In August! WTF?! SITREP That’s right! Vampire fun was to be had in August, no less, of this year! Well, actually, it’s EVERY year with Larry & Michael, at their studios in the middle of Fair Oaks where they have a veritable technical paradise laid out that will please any fear-monger, Vampire, Zombie, Street Fighter, Sci-Fi Officianado, etc. etc. and the like! THESETUP These professional alum of Disney Studios and Lucas Films, Ltd. have set up a virtual mini-theme park in their large garage, their office backyard, their crater-size hole in their large side yard, etc. etc., including a large home dolby 3-D theater in their large upstairs amphitheatre. Dam. EVERYONE wants a facility like this! VAMPIREBALL! So what better place to host the Vampire Parties and the Zombie Parties and the plethora of other themed parties several times a year? Dialed into several drama clubs and theater companies, and special interest Sci-Fi, Zombie and Vampire clubs, this venue always has an exciting offering going on allowing people to come and express themselves in a number of different creative theatrical outlets. RIDES! Because of their technical know-how and ability to work with lots of gizmos, they have constructed a mini-themed scary ride! You get into the giant turtles(think of Disney teacup ride, but… with turtles instead), and it takes you through an underground, roughly approximately 47.5 second long ride(give or take a quarter of a second, depending on how the motorizations are working) and it’s hella fun like Mr. Toads crazy ride meets Indiana Jones! MOVIES! Yes, I mentioned there was an amphitheatre upstairs which is AWESOME and was playing«Journey to the Center of the Earth.» HOWEVER, if you enjoy«old school» AV-style entertaining(like we did in elementary school… okay, okay, like I DID in elementary school decades ago), there was a a reel-to-reel set up in the center back yard area playing such hits as Daffy Ducky & Porky Pig(this episode they were space investigators) and entire episodes of Speed Racer!(I actually saw the entire episode when Speed & Trixie went to Egypt to help the poor Egyptian Princess who was under the mind-control of her minister and made her think she was Cleopatra so she could be used by him for evil!) Aw wow. Such a mind-trip going back to my kid-days. THELOWDOWN The Vampire Party(or any of the themed-parties that are operated by Larry & Michael) are a great way for the local artistic and theatrical community to come & decompress during runs of local shows. So much fun!
