Had daughter’s ears pierced here a week and half ago. A few days later, we realized there was an issue with one of the earrings’ backings — it wouldn’t stay on, and neither would any of my own earrings’ backings, which I believe indicates a problem with the post. One night, the earring fell out while my daughter slept and the hole closed. I took her back last weekend to have the ear re-pierced. I was told we would have to pay for a new set of earrings since the original earring«wasn’t damaged.» I argued this point with the assistant manager and manager and got nothing but attitude back. Since I was going to have to pay for a new set of earrings anyway, I took my daughter to the Piercing Pagoda instead, where they guarantee their earrings and will replace them if they fall out and the ears close for any reason. If you are considering getting your ears pierced, I recommend Piercing Pagoda(also in the Fair Oaks Mall) if for nothing else than their better warranty.

A few weeks ago I made an online purchase from A couple of items just didn’t look the same way as depicted as on the website, but every other single item was defective. I decided to make the return in-store and not by mail in order to avoid the $ 5 restocking fee(I know about the prepaid shipping label). I didn’t think it was really fair since the items were DEFECTIVE, it wasn’t just about me changing my mind about the items. I went to your Fair Oaks, VA location and the two young ladies there both said they didn’t know how to do an online return. In addition, I had to wait a few minutes for them to acknowledge me and I had to speak up first even though they were both behind the cash register(I didn’t notice any other employees in the store) chatting about their personal lives. Look, I work in retail too and sometimes things don’t go perfectly, but there is normally another manager/store/hotline/instructions to find out how to do these things in case they were new employees or something. For some reason the prices were not on the shipping label but I did have a printout of the emailed order confirmation with pictures and names of the items as well as my info and the prices. I told them I had called your customer service line called before leaving home just to see if the shipping label without prices would be a problem and the rep had said no, that«there was a barcode on the shipping label that would bring everything up, they just had to scan it», and not to worry plus she had returned things to the store that way before. I told them this and then called customer service from my phone while they rang other customers up(I guess they were just hoping I’d go away, and they never even attempted to call someone else or to attempt to scan the barcode or anything), and was told that basically it was too bad but since they didn’t know how to do the return I would have to mail the items back. This rep told me the $ 5 restocking fee wouldn’t apply. I was very nice to the two young ladies in the store and said thanks anyway, I guess I’ll just have to mail everything back. As I turned to leave they both started to clap their hands and were laughing at me. I don’t really know why they were making fun of me since they are the ones who don’t know how to do their jobs. I am not one of those unreasonable customers who demands that employees ignore policy, and was nice to them the entire time even though I was ignored and even though they didn’t know how to do their jobs. It was two dark haired ladies, one with longer hair who didn’t look a day over 15 and the other was shorter, with slightly shorter hair and crooked teeth. You guys need to train your employees better on how to treat customers and how to follow procedures/where to find info if they don’t know how to do something. I have been told several different things by employees and customer service reps today so I honestly do not know what to expect when I ship the defective items back, but at this point I’m ready to just open up a case with my credit card company to get my money back. I also wasted money getting there which is why I called before leaving home, and even money printing out the emailed order confirmation since my printer is currently broken.

Claire’s is Claire’s. There to offer you cheap costume jewelry at prices you can deal with when they break two days later. Normally I wouldn’t take the time to review a chain location, however I do declare that this particular is 1000 times better then its counterparts at all local malls. Most Claire’s are cluttered with crap on the floor, missing earrings from sets, etc. Not this one. It’s actually organized. Unlike the other locations, this one actually had an employee that was courteous and quick. Prime example: There was a child there screaming and screaming and crying and screaming. Mom wasn’t do anything. Annoyed by the sound, I began to dance in place to the music in hopes of drowning it out. Clerk says to me «Oh, this is a nice song, isn’t it? To which I replied, «No… I’m just trying to not focus on the excessive screaming.» Most people would laugh or join in on the complaining. Not said clerk. Instead she smiled and said«have a nice day.» I did… thanks to Claires.
