Ellen’s Futons

All signs point to closed. This business is closed. Not open. Phone is disconnected. Unfortunate.

Total warehouse area. Had to order my futon. Friendly folks, decent prices and selections.

We needed a guest bed that didn’t take up a whole room but was still comfortable. I was ready to head down to Ikea to see if futons had improved since my college years, when I remembered this understated store in the junky strip mall near Kamp Washington. I’m glad I did!
The selection is fantastic – from traditional wood framed futons to the «european» style couches that effortlessly slide down to a short full size bed. They offer a variety of mattresses and covers too. We opted for a middle-​of-​the-​line innerspring mattress.
The salesman was very informative without being overbearing. He provided the perfect amount of guidance without pressuring us to get more than we wanted or needed.
The result? For $ 750 we have a very comfortable guest bed that, so far, has received rave reviews from our guests. I am seriously considering replacing all of our couches with the european style futons from Ellen’s. If you’re looking for a futon, you could save few bucks at a big box store, but the quality, selection, and guidance will never compare to what you will get at Ellen’s.

I found Ellen’s Futons via Google. Having tried different mattresses over the years (including tempurpedic and sleep number), I have found that I much prefer the firmness of a futon. My wife, on the other hand, prefers something a little softer. When I arrived, the saleman, Jay, couldn’t be friendlier. He let me take my time as I tried out the different types of futon mattresses (some with foam layers, others with coils), and answered my questions. He was not at all pushy, and I found his suggestions to be very helpful. As a result, I selected the Ultra Plush (the one with foam layers), and my wife and I have both been very happy with it.
