No no no– just no. The food looks much better than it tastes. Afghan kabob is never this bad — stick to your typical kabob places this place is a huge NO

Delicious Afghan delights including huge portions of kabobs and tasty shawarma. My boyfriend and I stopped by after a day of wandering the nearby environs, and we were starving for some good, flavorful eats. Grill Kabob didn’t disappoint with their Chicken Shawarma sandwich or their Chicken/Beef Kabob plate. Both items were huge! The plate is definitely enough to feed two people. The Shawarma sandwich was a pita stuffed with plenty of chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions(heads up to those who dislike raw onions) for only $ 6.99. The Chicken/Beef plate came with the two types of meat, two types of rice, a small salad, bread, and a side of your choice(we chose the okra, which was savory, spicy, and delicious) for only $ 10.99. We drizzled plenty of white sauce(similar to tzatziki sauce) and their green sauce(slightly tart). I was slightly partial to the chicken/beef plate, but both were great overall. Hot tea is complimentary! Grill Kabob Express doesn’t have any waiter service(you order at the front, seat yourself, and bus your own tables), and there may be a bit of a language barrier based on who’s working. Overall, a great find in the suburbs and if we’re ever back in the area, would love to try more of their foods since they have over 20 different options!

Worst customer service ever. My family is done giving them their business. On three separate occasions we were placed on hold and forgotten about. The first time was for 45 minutes. In that time we drove to their restaurant, while still on hold and once we arrived we showed them that we were forgotten on hold. The owner was indifferent about it. Another time we called to place an order and no one would pick up, it would just ring and ring and ring. I drive to the place, to make sure it isn’t closed and what do I see? The cashier at the front just texting away. I told her that something could be wrong with their phone and I had trouble getting through. She showed me that the phone line was not disconnected and then went back to her texting. I then asked her if she wouldn’t mind taking my order(cause assuming from the place she was standing in, it was her job to do so). Earlier tonight, we were placed on hold for 10 minutes in which we were forgotten about again. How do we know this? Because every time they forget us on the phone, they don’t actually put the phone on hold they just place it somewhere and I can hear everything they are doing, in the background. We let the owner know and again he was ambivalent. When we picked up our order, he was rude and he forgot to give us our dessert. This place is not worth the attitude you get

Great kabob shop! Been coming here for years and wont stop. The Koobideh kabob is really flavorful and way better than Moby Dick imo. Only thing I was not too thrilled about were the chickpeas. They lacked flavor and were a little hard. Other than the Chickpeas i’d recommend this place!

We were there several years ago and it was good; we returned the other other day and it was not good. It looked beat up, the food was not great either and despite it being empty the food took forever.

Poor experience with orders. I would have given a ‘0’ star. This is the second time they messed up our orders. Very much disappointed!!! This time they had me wait 30 minutes to tell me that the ‘bone in chicken kabob’(that I had ordered) was not available. The last time they had us waiting for40 minutes and apparently forgot about the order. I do not recommend this place. We are not coming here anymore.

I was craving gyro and took to Unilocal to find a place close by me that was serving some. I’m really glad that I came to Kabob Express! I got the gyro sandwich($ 6.99) and was on my way. It was everything I wanted! I’m definitely going to be coming here more often to satisfy my gyro cravings. Good price for the quantity you get. If you’re not a big fan of onions I would definitely ask for no/less onions because the sandwich has a lot of them. Overall, I’m content. :)

One of the best kabobs in the Fairfax, Centreville, and Tyson’s area! I’ve had kabobs from many places and the ones here have to be one of the top 3! The portion size is huge, you get a large portion of bread, and the chickpeas are to die for! Definitely try this place out if you are in the area or visiting! You won’t regret it!

A little pricey, but price is matched by great quality and generous portions. Chicken kabobs are delicious and filet kabobs are nice and tender – not chewy at all! Chickpeas are beautifully seasoned and pair well with both the brown and white basmati rice given. Naan is excellent and oh my gosh, the fries. The fries are so good.

I went to this place becase a friend of mine recommended to try their delicious dishes. I had an event at my house small event 40 people. I called them and with a short notice they took care of the catering for me. They provided an excellent service my guest were happy. Everything was great. I like their friendlyness and their quality of their food at a reasonable price. Thanks again i will look foward to hire them For my next event.

My kids told me to pick up food at this location. It was the first and last time. I’m tired of paying so much for a few prices of kabob. Plus the don’t give a crap service. One woman was wiping her feet with napkins. That was totally messed up. The guy in front acts like a tough guy. He had a macho tee shirt on while stacking the sodas. The food was okay but the salad sucked. They were generous with the sauce but cheap with the lamb. I’m sure there are better. Just very dirty!

This place has completely gone downhill with the change of ownership. In the past the kabob was never dry, the side dishes were flavorful, and the rice was always perfectly fluffy. I am not sure if the new management is cutting corners but the kabob is dry as well as the rice, the sides are bland, and the naan tastes like cardboard. The service is terrible as well. I called once to order carry-out, and informed the lady(who by the way answered the phone with just a «hello?») that I wanted 3 boneless chicken kabobs. She then proceeded to ask, «what number is that?» I told her I didn’t have the menu in front of me, but I just want 3 boneless chicken kabobs. She said she couldn’t take my order unless I told her the number. Completely ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to Kabob Corner. I’m predicting this place will either change owners again or go out of business very soon.

Did management change here? I haven’t been here for many years and decided to stop by during lunch break only to find tasteless beef kubideh and not so friendly staff. I used to love their rice and beef kubideh, it was pure dissapointment today. I kept chewing on a paper like consistency in the beef kubideh, not edible! I am done with this restaurant. Was my favorite with five stars from me, but no more!!!

This place was so good!!! The people who work there are kind and friendly and the food is amazing. Super quick and delicious Afgan food. We ordered for pick up and all together had the Chicken/Beef Kobidah, Lamb/Chicken kabob, and Qabeli Palaw. All of them were delicious, including the two types of rice that come with the kabob dishes! The sauces were a nice surprise, especially for someone who isn’t seasoned in Afgan cuisine. It’s reminiscent of the green and white sauces you get for Peruvian Chicken!(Only bc of color, the flavors are much better in my opinion!) The Baaklava was AMAAAAAZZIIINNGGGG! Definitely get some with your order! Food was 5 stars! Service was 4.5, only because they forgot one of our meals(we ordered two of the Qabeli Palaw and got one) but when we returned for the missing meal they were very apologetic and gave us a free Baaklava(which was amazing, so WORTHIT!!) All in all, super positive experience, even with the mix up! Definitely will be returning!

I ordered food to go and as I was waiting for my order, the owner offered a bowl of soup. Talk about generosity and kindness, the soup hit the spot as it is cold outside. The kabob is not only delicious but the portions are generous. If you are thinking about coming here, think no more. Come enjoy the food and experience the great service I did tonight. Many thanks!

If you try the Express, prepare to get a to-go bag if you eat in. For what you pay, the quantity of the food they give you more than exceeds expectations. I had the chicken/beef combo and the flavors were all there. Also had the standard hot tea which also was simple and flavorful. The fresh bread, and rice, both great as well. I just couldn’t finish it all. Worth another trip for sure…
