The place is too nice to be a typical kabob house, but service is not refine enough to compliment the beautiful ambiance. But I always enjoy the food and overall service. I think the restaurant needs to find an identity. Been here many times and always see a mix of customers. From well dressed couple out on a romantic date to a bunch of guys in flip flops out for a quick dinner. Service is good but waiters are all dressed in mixed causal clothing. No one matches and no theme. The wine list needs to expand beyond the $ 12 and under wines that you find at any local grocery stores. Even with these flaws, the food is good enough to keep me coming back. I hope Mazadar finds its identity because the food is too good and restaurant is too nice not to always have a full house every night.

So I came here because all of the restaurant week restaurants were fully booked out. As soon as we entered none of the servers were walking around despite the fact that every table was fully occupied. So we were in the entrance awkwardly standing there for about 5 minutes with all eyes on us. Then the server came out, and handed us menus. We sat down waiting for a table to be cleaned up for another 5 – 10 minutes. They did not give us our pita bread until I asked for it which was at least 10 minutes in. 2 stars off for poor service but I would give good recommendation for the food. I liked the falafel platter, and I loved how crunchy the falafel was on the outside and soft in the inside. The pita bread was freshly baked to dip into the humus. Ambience was okay, décor was nice with the fountain in the middle of restaurant. But If I do decide to come back I hope their waiters are around in the room to be called upon. More than half the time I was in the restaurant all the waiters were in the back kitchen leaving all the customers to fend for themselves.

Just had the opportunity to sit down and eat, and this place is great! Service was friendly and efficient, the restaurant had nice ambiance with a fountain in the middle of the room and the food was amazing! My wife who grew up near Dearborn MI thought this place had the best Middle Eastern food she had ever had. Highly recommend!

The ambience was great. Their bread is delicious. The rest of the food was alright. I have eaten better middle eastern food before. We ordered lamb and chicken kubideh. The chicken kabob was nice but the lamb was chewy and bland. The rice was flavourful.

This place is a hidden gem. I love their dumplings and their biryani is on point. I’ve had their lamb dishes and I thought it was pretty good. Funny thing is every time I go we have been the only customers or there is one other diner, I asked about that to the owner and he said they get packed on the weekends at night bc they have belly dancers.

Love this place! When I first walked in here, I thought the setup was beautiful. There’s a fountain in the center of the store, and it’s surrounded by tables and chairs as well as booths. I love the blue, white, and black color scheme they have. We’ve been here a few times and have always been served by the waiter as well as the owner. Both are very nice and patient. The food is here is SO good. My favorite part would have to be the Sampler appetizer. It comes with 4 dips and pretty much as much bread as you want. The bread is always so soft and fresh, and doesn’t get hard over time like most bread does. The dips are absolutely amazing. I always order the boneless chicken with the rice and a side of chick peas. It’s absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.

My best friend and i stumbled into this gem one rainy afternoon… There was no one else but us at the restaurant(which was great because it was one of the first times I took out my newborn and was so nervous) and our first impression was WOW, the décor is beautiful. Feels like home with the couches and pillows… But also like you’re at a small café somewhere in the Middle East with their beautiful fountain. The owner is very friendly and attentive! I had a chicken kabob and subbed my rice for the rice with carrots and raisins(it’s worth the up charge) and my friend had a combo of lamb and chicken. She loved it! For dessert I cannot rave enough about how delicious and REFRESHING whatever we had was. I don’t remember the name but it was a white pudding with pistachios on top. My mouth is watering thinking about it. It was so light and airy, the PERFECT end to a meal.

Excellent! My fiancé and I picked up food to-go from Mazadar as part of my birthday weekend celebration! :D. The service was very friendly while we were waiting. The ambiance and décor of the restaurant is very warm, welcoming, and nostalgic, with the swinging lamps and the little tiled fountain in the middle of the restaurant. The food is delicious! I ordered the Barg Kabob(marinated steak), which came with rice and the quintessential grilled tomato, while my fiancé ordered the Lamb Kabob, which also came with rice and a grilled tomato. I ordered Salad shirazi(a delicious mix of tomatoes, cucumber, onion, cilantro, and lime juice) as an appetizer, while my fiancé ordered the falafel appetizer. The food tasted otherworldly and we could tell it was cooked with care. We noticed that the owners of the restaurant were working there when we visited(their pictures are on a newspaper article that’s posted at the front of the restaurant). That shows a great amount of care for their business and we really admired that. My fiancé and I were both in easy agreement — Mazadar absolutely deserves 5 stars! We would love to visit again and dine in!

Great atmosphere, tasty food(children’s chicken kebab, mezze platter, lamb soup, and the chia, was especially good) The water feature in the middle of the restaurant was great entertainment for the whole family. Service, was wonderfully friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place.

Went for lunch. At 130 on a Monday, there was no one else in the restaurant. Yes, I was worried. My friend and I ordered an app(Bolanee Kachaloo) and a main dish(Qaubili Palow) to share thinking that one app and one main dish would be plenty for a lunch. We were wrong. The app enough for a meal for two and add the lamb/rice dish, we were stuffed and had food to take out. I’m glad we were not on the couches as I don’t think I would be able to get up. The owner stopped by several times to see how we were enjoying the meal and our waiter was also quite attentive(did I mention we were the only ones there?). For two, t was about $ 20 and well worth it. I’ll definitely be back, hopefully for the belly dancing.

The price is just right for this amazing restaurant! The variety is perfect! I dined with a vegetarian and there was plenty on the menu for him! The options and the special accommodations they made for us were also so kind. Some restaurants are super strict! I was also very happy that they accepted the Unilocal«2 entrée and one free appetizer» coupon. I had the baba ganouche. It was unique but I love eggplant so I thought it was fantastic! Next time, I will get the falafel and hummus. Their hummus was the best hummus around. It is creamy with the perfect blend of tahini pureed chickpeas and olive oil! It was also very light which I enjoyed. The Gourmet Falafel Platter was excellent! It is a smaller platter but tasty just the same. The seasoning on their falafel was impeccable! I don’t usually like falafel, but these were amazing!!! I had the vegetarian platter with the spinach, eggplant and squash. You get a very nice heaping of rice. Some complain that the ratio to meal(meat) to rice is too large, but I don’t really think so. The rice was amazing and I loved the carrots and raisins on top. If you like things spicy, definitely ask for their hot sauce. It is definitely unique and spicy! The lamb shanks, like everyone has been saying, are AMAZING! You get a very nice bit of meat with an excellent and not overpowering sauce. To finish it off, we shared the Persian Ice cream. This is a hit or miss. I personally love unique deserts because they aren’t so sweet. But my dining friend didn’t like it because it tasted like perfume. With that being said, it is a rose water base and it is home made. It isn’t very sweet but I really liked the unique and middle eastern taste I got from it. Last thing to say, the service was excellent! As a waiter myself, they did everything I’d want a waiter to do. They were very kind, they seemed happy to be there, and they knew their food very well! They were also not pushy or trying to make you get the most expensive item. I will definitely be coming back to try more of the different platters!

Absolutely amazed I waited so long to come here. The ambiance is awesome. It was empty today and it was easy to take it all in. The décor is simple but tasteful and well put together and staged. The trickling fountain in the middle was a nice background noise. The TV wasn’t too loud and it was comfortable to sit in the booth. The food was great. Large slat of soft bread and dipping sauces came right out with my entrees side salad. The salad was a nice size, crisp, with delicious balsamic. The hummus was creamy and perfect. The falafel was also on point. I tried the biryani with chicken and the portion was gigantic! Had leftovers, which was great. Came out hot and flavorful just as I asked(adjusted it to be mild, which I didn’t even have to ask for, they were mindful enough to ask me how I wanted it). I’d like to go back at night to see how the ambiance is and to try other items. I’m so glad I finally checked this place off of my list.

Clean atmosphere with authentic food. Everything was well seasoned We tried a variety of dishes, the Mantu, delish! Did we talk about the Mahicha Palow – delish! Smooth and tender as a baby’s kiss. Lamb karahi was wonderful. A medley of garlic, tomato and fresh ginger Wonderful! The manager himself came out to speak with us and was quite attentive. So much more I could say but it’s time for dessert!

Completely agree with Phi on this one. This is an afghan/paki restautant disguised as Persian. From the music to the sorry attempt at something they tried to pass off as babaghnoush this place is not worth the trip out here to the middle of no where. The eggplant stew was ok but too sweet. The yogurt that came with the biryani had turned bad and the baklava was soggy and burnt. Plus, it’s freezing in there! No heat! Service is good.

Visiting our friends up north led us here. I admit this kind of cuisine did not really piqué my interest until I saw how good the reviews were online. It has been a while since I have been blown away by the décor, but as soon as you walk in you can’t help but notice the fountain in the middle of the whole place. Regardless of the fountain, the place is decorated nicely keeping with the Middle Eastern theme, but not going overboard. Boyfriend and I ordered the mango lassi which was so refreshing. It’s a shame there are no refills because I would have probably downed a whole pitcher if that were the case. We also got the Mantu appetizer which was quite tasty and light. I think I would have ordered this as an entrée had I not wanted to try something different. Instead, I ordered the lamb on bone entrée. I don’t think I have had lamb cooked so good. Everything was fall off the bone and no knife needed. It came with awesome rice to soak of the sauce with. Needless to say, the whole meal was finished by me. The only thing lacking was the quickness in service. The owner(?) or older gentleman was very nice and helpful. It was not until the younger guy helping us out did we reach some difficulties — mostly in splitting the check between the 7 of us. We eventually got it figured out with the older guy. I think it was maybe a language barrier issue. Overall, I love the vibe and the food is some of the best I have had.

I know Unilocal is not going to steer me wrong at a spot that has 4.5 stars over almost 200 reviews. So, even though, I am not usually big on ransoms Mediterannean strip center spots, I decided the give this one a try when I was staying at a nearby hotel. I was just getting takeout, but talk about a cool spot to take a date. Curvy couches, a meditation pool, and interesting colors would make this a great special occasion spot if I lived nearby. I decided I wanted something simple, so I ignored all the suggestion to get the lamb shank and I ordered a kabob with chicken and lamb. This was served with Basmati rice and a grilled half tomato. Something so plain has never been soooo delicious. The meat was grilled perfectly with complex flavors that were brushed on. The rice was moist and flavorful. The nan that accompanied the entrée was also warm and yummy. However, in the going the extra mile department, I love this story. I got there late and I was the only person in the restaurant. The owner observed that I had a MLB baseball jersey and, without asking, changed the TV channel to the baseball game. I know that is not a big thing, but that kind of effort to connect with your customers is rare today and should be noted. Get here often if you live nearby.
