Pizza was ok, fairly bland spinach pizza. Kinda a dumpy place. Owners were nice, but too many better places. Guess they’re out of business by the time I completed this so it doesn’t matter.

I’ve been getting takeout here for 15+ years. I used to work within walking distance of the place and would get lunch, but those days are over. Now, I stop by when I’m in the neighborhood around dinner time. I’ve never eaten in the place or called for delivery. I can really only speak to one item on the menu: the steak & cheese parmigiana.(When I lived in the Philadelphia area, I called it a pizza steak.) Well, OK, sometimes I get the steak fries(a better choice than French fries – the difference is how thick they are cut). I get the large size(12″); it’s available as a small size, too. If I’ve been getting the same thing at the same restaurant for well over a decade, you can draw your own conclusions, eh? I do sprinkle crushed red peppers on the sandwich, but that’s just my taste. If I lived closer or had more errands over here, so that I was here more often, maybe I would try other things from the menu, like the gyros/shwarma/doner kebab. Negatives: The napkins are really dinky. They once got my order wrong a few years ago. Sometimes you have to park around the corner in the main shopping center lot. Zero ambience. This place is really bad for your diet! If you want to go west after leaving, making a left turn onto Rte. 50 out of the parking lot can be really hard. Positives: Once you are a regular, they are friendlier. Prices are pretty reasonable. The food tastes good.

What a crazy night I had at Pizzarama! I’m driving down Jermantown Road toward the intersection with Fairfax Boulevard, when I ask Siri, «Where should I get pizza?» She brings up several selections, and the closest one with a decent Unilocal rating was Pizzarama. I was intrigued because I’d never heard of this place, yet I live right in the neighborhood! It’s no wonder I never noticed Pizzarama. It’s nestled off in a dark corner of the strip mall there before you get into downtown Fairfax. And the sign, well, it has some letters burned out. But don’t let the divey feel get you down! This place is a hidden gem. I went in, sat down, and it was just me and the server. I could hear people back in the kitchen, but it was just the two of us in the entire dining area. He took my order, then went to sit back in his recliner(yes, a recliner in the middle of the dining area). Me in my booth, him across the way kicked back waiting for the chefs to whip up my za, we watched the Cine Latino channel together. I think the movie was about 1980s Mexican motorcycle gangs. My pizza took no time. It was beautiful. So delicious. So perfect. Not too much sauce or cheese. A thin, but not sloppy, crust that still had enough weight to have that delicious doughy texture in places. And boy did they pack on the toppings! I had a medium pie with peppers, onions, spinach, mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage — plus a Diet Coke and tip — for fewer than $ 20. The pizza really tasted great, and I even had a couple slices leftover to take home for breakfast. Now the atmosphere at Pizzarama seems a little old and perhaps out of a gangster film. And considering the only other people who ever came in would go into the back and come back out without pizza, I wonder if something else is going on back there that helps keep this place in business. Well, it says«Family Restaurant» out front, so I’m sure it’s fine. There was an instance while I was there where one of the workers was yelling at the owner(or manager?) and used some expletives and walked out. No joke. And by the time I finished my meal, my server was now someone new — a kid, about 19, in a Palestinian pride T-shirt. No lie. This place was just weird, but it felt like an adventure. I will definitely get pizza here again. Probably, it’ll be takeout.(Or do they deliver?) I didn’t exactly feel unsafe eating here, but it’s not the kind of place I’d bring someone else to, you know? Can’t beat the pizza and price, though. Mmm. 1980s Mexican gang violence, I didn’t know you could be so delicious.

My wife and I split a pizza. Half greek and half pineapple. The crust was by far the most appetizing part of the pizza. On the greek side the olives were not kalamata. The cheese and toppings weren’t the best quality. Overall the pizza was below average. It sounds like their sandwiches are the way to go.

They have honestly the BEST steak & cheese subs. Amazing subs. Interior is clean but could use an update. Desserts are standard frozen things they bought elsewhere. But the subs are by far the best in the area!

Always great food and the owner provides awesome service. Good specials and it’s located in a very nice location. I will continue to go back there. I would recommend their pizza, Super Italian sub and the Corned Beef Pastrami and Swiss sub.

Before we moved to Orlando, we would order subs from Pizzarama at least once a week. Loved them. Steak and Cheese are grilled, not baked, so they taste great! Hot Pastrami, Super Italian and gyros were also delicious. It sounds like the same family is still running it, 10 years after we left! Congrats to them!

I would have to say this was my fav restaurant in Fairfax. I LOVELOVE there lasagna, my friends love the calamari. I had been going from 2004 – 2009 when I lived there. As a college student didn’t know ho to cook so I ordered from his very often(3−4x’s a week). My roommate loves their subs! The restaurant is small but ok. It looks like a typical pizza place. What set this place aside from the rest is that it all looked«home made» unlike most chains where everything is just pre made frozen food. They seasoned food well too. I LOVED their french fries too. My typical order was Lasagna, fries, a connoli, and a soft drink. It was all well under $ 20 but could feed me the whole day.

Ok so, since my last review I’ve been back about 50 times, so i had to do an update. They have by far the best cheesesteaks in this area as long as you order it without lettuce, tomato and mayo. Cheesesteaks just aren’t supposed to have those three ingredients on them. They are sooooo good and there’s tons of meat on them. I’ve also gotten some gyros, mozzarella sticks and fries. They are all fresh and tasty. The owner is seriously so nice and he really cares about his customers. And of course, the pizza is still awesome! This is what local business is about, i wish more people came here to support it.

You need to try: Marinated grilled chicken sub with provolone, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, lettuce, and mayo. MYLORD. Got this last night for dinner and the chicken was delicious with a great flavor brought by the marinade. The bread fresh baked and crunchy on the outside, fantastic inside. Got it with some hot, tasty french fries. As always, service was friendly and quick. Prices are great. Couldn’t have been happier.

I had a sausage & pepperoni pizza in the restaurant. There’s also takeout next door with little tables outside to wait. The pizza was good in the restaurant and as leftovers. Medium crust. OK pepperoni. The sausage was flavorful and precooked, unlike the bland and greasy sausage most places serve. Not a heavy layer of cheese, so I could taste the tomato sauce. The server was nice but shy. The booths were older but in good condition and clean. The bright green walls and dirty bathroom door that didn’t shut(yes, I tried to body slam it a few times) were not positives.

This is a tiny little place where you can pick up take-out. They do have an eat-in area, but no one was eating in when I was there and it seems like take-out is the way to go here. We got a cheesesteak. cheese fries, and a pepperoni and ham stromboli. The cheesesteak and fries were both disappointing. The cheesesteak had way more lettuce than it did either meat or cheese. They were very stingy with the meat. The fries simply had melted cheese on top, as opposed to an actual cheese sauce, which I prefer. I could be okay with that if the fries themselves were great, but unfortunately the fries were limp and soggy. The stromboli was the only winner. It was very good. I might go back if I ever get a stromboli craving, but won’t ever again bother getting a cheesesteak from here.

I think this is the original Pizzarama, we bought their pizza in 1972 and we were bowled over by it. I go for the pizza but have enjoyed the subs and gyro. It is run by the family, cousins and all and they enjoy their business and it is reflected in the friendly service. Great little gem that the chains can’t replicate in food, atmosphere or service.

I’ve been to two of the Pizzarama locations(and it seriously confuses me that they’re all completely different, but have the same menu). Anyway, their gyros are delicious. The chicken gyro was eh and the souvlaki was great, but I have nothing to compare it to. As for the pizza, I’ve never tried it. The manager is a really nice guy and he will generally make conversation as you’re checking out. I’m not sure how the dining experience is there, since I’ve only just picked up food.
