I purchased a Groupon to give this place a try. I wish I didn’t, I wish I read all the reviews here first. Miriam was my hair stylist(if you can call it that way). She asked me if I had wavy hair, which was a bit odd. I figured it was a rhetorical question and nodded. Miriam proceeded to recite how my wavy hair should be cut. She sounded very confident. At this point I gave her a carte blanche thinking I was in hands of a professional! Yay! Big mistake. I ended up with a helmet haircut. Instead of having a nice diagonal line that goes from my forehead down towards my shoulders, I ended up with two squares — one on each side covering my ears and third one covering my neck. It’s as ugly as it sounds. If I was preparing for a role of a mentally handicapped person, she nailed it! Then she had the audacity to tell me that NOW I look cute! Seriously?!! By what standards? Before I actually had a style. Now I look like a meek housewife who gets her husband to cut her hair!!! Ridiculous!

Zero Stars! My hair was butchered in this salon. The hair stylist was the owner who does not know how to cut hair. I came in with a mid back length hair and came out with above the shoulders zigzagged hair which is not even. She keeps insisting that my hair was thick and an A-line bob is not good for me. Well, I had it before and it was great, compliments to another hair stylist who did it. I got the groupon deal for hair cut and color. Since my hair was black she insisted that she can only color it black and if I want a different color, I need to pay extra $ 120. No way! She then said ok to color it auburn red but extra $ 20. I knew I should have listened to my gut feeling and leave. After the color she blew dry my hair and continue to cut my hair until it’s too short! I had to tell her to stop cutting my hair. Now, I am going to a different salon to fix my butchered hair! :-(Don’t go to this salon

I arrived at 3:00pm for a 3:15 appointment. There was a white hair salonist, an indian hair salonist and a black girl who worked for the salon. They were running behind because of a bad thunderstorm and their earlier clients were late, which made the salon running late. At 3:50, the indian hair salonist came and apologize for running late. She introduced herself as Miriam. The white salonist was helping a white lady and cutting her hair. Then at 4:15pm, a white man walked into the salon. The black girl immediately went up to him and offered him a drink of water. Then she rush over to the white lady who was having her hair done and offered a drink of water and ignored me, who is not white or black and miriam the indian hair stylist. So not a friendly place and quite discriminating in how they treat their customers. Since I had waited 50 minutes and the black girl did not offer me water. The hair cut was simple, straight cut with bangs, so there was no suprises. Miriam did a good job. so I gave this business a two star because she tried to accomodate me. As for the rest of the staff, they were unfriendly, and ignores you if you aren’t white. I don’t know if I will return but if I do it will simply be because Miriam tried to fixed my hair the way I want it.

I was really nervous after reading the reviews here(groupon) but I had a pleasant experience. I just need a root touch up and a trim — based off the reviews here I made sure to be very explicit as to what I wanted and I’m not at all displeased with the results. It’s not a fancy place. It’s not a place I’d bring in a picture of a trendy haircut and expect to walk out looking like the picture. But I’m willing to go back when I need another touch up and basic color. One thing I really liked was that my stylist(the owner, I believe), while friendly and polite, wasn’t chatty. She let me sit and relax with my eye closed and enjoy some rare quiet time.

I really wanted to like this place, mostly because it is really conveniently located for me. And the first time I went there, I thought it might be OK. On that visit, I was left waiting for a tiny while longer than seemed normal for an empty salon. But then the waxer did a great job with my eyebrows, so I was satisfied. On my second visit, I foolishly made an appointment for both a haircut and an eyebrow wax. I had been crazy short of time and just needed to get these things done. This time there was no waiting, but I actually wish I had been made to wait because maybe I would have gotten fed up and walked out. That would have been so nice. But no, I stayed and got the second worst haircut of my life.(The worst was a Haircuttery mullet in the late 1980s.) I have, or had, long hair, and I asked for long layers and side bangs. This is what I always ask for, and mostly I always look the same. I am not that picky about my hair. But at this moment, I look like Gidget. I just need a bikini and a surfboard. I have rather thick bangs, like a shag, and chin-length hair that flips up like Carol Brady’s no matter what I do. I am fairly frugal, but I am not sure I can just let this grow out. I may have to go pay to have someone else fix it. My eyebrow wax this time was not a horrible disaster, but it is pretty bad. She plucked and thinned out my brows and went a tad overboard. I am looking slightly bald of brow. I should say that the other reason I wanted to like this place is that the people were really nice and friendly. But that only gets you so far, in my opinion.

I scheduled a facial on a Saturday thinking an hour would be ample time to complete it. I was greeted by the owner, who offered me a cup of tea and left me in the waiting room. 25 minutes passed. I asked the receptionist if I was going to get the facial as I had to meet a friend directly after the facial. I was finally lead back to the room. The lady began the facial and I began to relax. My irritation level rose when after applying the face mask, she walked out of the room for 20 minutes(instead of 10). I was infuriated at this point. I was so relieved to get out of there. I was not pleased with the customer service and would NEVER come here again.

If you are craving an Aveda signature facial; the one that puts you in a completely zen mood, the one that leaves you glowing, relaxed and yearning for more, do not walk, RUNAWAY from this place and never look back. I have done a” few” facials here and there, and this was the worst one I have ever had the misfortune to experience. I could write an essay here describing the scary hour in detail, but I will save myself from reliving this experience. Let me just mention the fact that the only reason I did not walk out with face cleanser on my face is because I was so hoping for an improved… ending(?), hoping that this will be enjoyable after all, and I needed that SPF on my pale, fair skin before I stepped out onto the 80 °F sunny weather.
