Food is delicious. We ordered the 3 course in the menu. The only complaint is Expensive, but you get what you paid for. :D

We had very good food with extremely poor service. We were greeted rudely, placed in a room as the only table other than a large party(the room should have been left to them), and had a waiter who by appearances was very experienced but consistently made mistakes that an Appleby’s waiter might not make. Examples: Not greeting our table or getting menus for a long while, telling us we asked for a second course to be served at the same time as the third course when we did not, serving a hot meal when he already knew the party was at the rest room(leaving the meal to sit by itself cooling off for awhile), rushing whenever he spoke with us(he had tables in another room also), asking us if we would like more water after placing the bill down(the waters were low or empty for some time already) and more… We eat out in fine dining establishments often and we have not had such poor service in a long, long time. I hate to tip less than 20% but had a problem leaving 15%. I should have left less. Shame as the kitchen put out excellent meals. At over $ 200 for 3 persons we expect better.

This review is long overdue. My husband took me here for Valentine’s Day and it was wonderful!!! What a great surprise in a cute little spot in downtown Fairfax. It’s kind of hidden and parking is behind the building with maybe 6 – 7 spots available. It’s a small restaurant but makes up for it in food, service and ambiance. They had a special menu for Vday so I probably can’t speak on its regular menu although I bet it’s spectacular. I ordered the mushroom broth soup which was REALLY good. You wouldn’t think something seemingly simple would taste like crack… but it did. I can’t remember what the husband had but I had the beef tenderloin which was melt in your mouth good! For a great meal and fine dining experience, I’d say this place is pretty reasonably priced. I’m definitely coming back. I would def recommend reservations due to limited seating.

My wife and I were looking for someplace new for a midweek dinner and I started searching the«best of» lists for Northern VA. I came across Villa Mozart and with the exception of one review everyone loved their experience so we were not surprised by our experience. It was slow but not unexpected for a Wednesday. The wine list was short but had something for everyone. The menu was easy to peruse with 5 – 6 items in each section and our waitress was thorough in her description of the specials. We went with the Prix-Fixe and enjoyed every bite. I had the Veal entrée which was the best veal preparation I have ever had and the desserts are worth saving room for. It’s not cheap but worth it for a GREAT meal.

What a lovely, charming restaurant in the heart of Fairfax. Intimate and modern décor. Fantastic service. Loved having a older and refined waiter. He made great suggestions and knew the menu and wine list. I had one of the best beet salads I’ve ever had. Filled with fresh and varied beets and goat cheese. Divine. The lobster pasta was light and so fresh. My husband was thrilled with his steak, cooked perfectly and full of favor. Loved that they have a private room, great for small groups and special dinners. They have parking in the rear of the restaurant, as well. All around a great place.

Incredible service and a great meal. Perhaps the best restaurant in NoVa outside Alexandria(well, Chez Francois is better). Plates are expertly prepared and presented. Great wines on a not-too-big wine, but very reasonably priced compared to the quality.

I’m very selective with a restaurant that claims to be Tyrolian(northern Italian) cuisine. I have lived in Austria for two years and have enjoyed some of the best restaurants the country has to offer. With that frame of reference I can be a harsh critic. Chef Andreas and his restaurant are hands down the best Tyrolian cuisine I’ve ever had. The other night I took my spouse here for dinner before an engagement. Oscar our waiter warmly greeted us and made us feel at home. My husband was so delighted with the amazingly thoughtful menu and words can’t describe how good everything was. I done here a lot– and will say it’s the best. Five stars hands down! A true hidden gem in Fairfax city! Try everything– often!

Food and service are both fantastic. You can find exotic(relatively speaking) on the menu which I really enjoy. It’s a bit too fancy so you better be at your best behavior. I recommend this restaurant for a nice and important occasion.

The food was very good, but not outstanding. I had the beef carpaccio and lamb, which was delicious, but the tiramisu was surprisingly disappointing. For the price, I expected outstanding. The service was abrupt and hurried and we felt so rushed, it was like we were being chased out of the restaurant.

How have I not reviewed this place? The chef is from Italy, and my friends from Italy vouche for this place. Beer menu is sparse, they had Chimay and some watered-down junk that I wasn’t interested in. Wine is reasonable at $ 10 /glass and under for great wines. The service is outstanding, and the food hits all of the components necessary — texture, taste, presentation, etc. It’s a great place for a romantic night out. Get the prix fixe menu and save a few dollars.

Had dinner with five additional friends on a Friday evening in late October, had reservations for 6 pm. We were seated quickly, from that point on we saw the waiter when he wanted to sell us wine and took our orders. No one came during dinner to fill water glasses until after our plates had been cleared. I ordered the risotto($ 29) with lobster, had three small pieces of lobster in the dish which was about a cup of undercooked risotto. Texture was crunchy, no flavor. Very small portions. Waiter came back to the table after everyone was done and noticed I had not eaten my meal. Asked me if everything was alright and when I explained it was undercooked and bland, he said nothing and took the dish. We were charged for the meal. The interior of the restaurant has zero atmosphere, little decoration and the tables are small and close. When the room was full(about 10 tables) we had to speak loudly in order to carry on a conversation. For a restaurant that charges what it does, I expect more and got much less. We will not return.

Great place. Can be noisy but staff and food are great. HAd gnocchi and wife had rye ravioli both excellent. Appetizer was beet salad which was presented well tasted good but nothing special. Had fried gnocchi special which was very good. Deserts were great.

The owner responded to my complaint to previous visit. I appreciate the positive and thoughtful response assuring to improve their service. Opinions from customers are subjective in certain things but I’m glad that they take into account of those review. Good luck with your business!

Have wanted to visit this restaurant for many years. Had an amazing meal on a Monday night! We were a party of 5 and all ordered the fixed price option. This is a great way to try a few new things and still have room for dessert. Our first dishes include chestnut soup, beet salad & tuna tar tar. Main courses are ravioli, seafood pasta, veal & risotto. Desserts were unexpected & wonderful. Delicious homemade pasta and great combination of flavors on all dishes. We have a new favorite white wine too! It is on the expensive side, but totally worth it! Can’t believe it took us so long to go here. Excited to go back again in the future.

Came here for two special occasions and both times were pretty much the same. The food was good, but the portion was laughable. Trust me, I understand fine dining portion, but VM portion is ridiculously small for the price. The service was attentive but not typical of a fine dining restaurant. There was one waiter taking orders on one half of the restaurant and random people filing water and cleaning table. The waiter did his best to accommodate a fine dining experience, but I felt rush the whole time.

Came here with coworkers. First we were greeted by a friendly waiter. The room we were directly had a privacy for a group of 11 of us as it was separate from other diners. I got salad for appetizer, tagliata for main, and tiramisu for dessert. The waiter recommended a red wine and a white wine before our meal. The white wine had sweet and smoothe taste but the red wine was too mild. My main meal was good but was too small for an adult portion. The sauce on the side was sweet and tasty. Overall I had good experience at this restaurant.

Antipasti: salami special, delicious, appropriate appetizer w/small portions. Main course: Tortellini with a veal stuffing and sweetbread. Nice brown sauce on top. Also delicious with approp portions. Restaurant is quaint with a classy staff and nice head chef. The sambuca digestif also did the trick. This is a classy, dressy restaurant for an older crowd. Not a place to take your kids. Also not a place to go if you are a picky eater. Most of the food includes veal, sweetbread(pancreas), other red meats, and seafood. Closest thing to classic(American) pasta with red sauce is the Gnocchi.

Oh man oh man. This place can not be in Fairfax, this needs to be in Milan! Or Dubai! Everything was so good! I had the quail stuffed with rabbit, it came with a risotto, and I had peach iceberg salad. Both were amazing. You have to try it, setting is really romantic too

It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review, as I really loved this place. I just got back from a special Valentines Day prix fixe lunch at Villa Mozart. The price was high — $ 69 for 3 courses — but when I made the reservation I thought to myself that their food was really good so would be that much better for this special occasion. I was wrong. First thought when I walk in — it’s freezing. Every person in our party wore our down parkas/fur coats the entire meal. The entire meal. No where else have I had to do this in my life. There was no mention of how cold it was, or apologies by the staff, or any attempt at bringing the temperature up. Toward the end of my meal I saw tiny space heaters that were not near any human, but were in the hallway heating no one. My feet are still freezing even though I am at home writing this. It was just a terrible start to a meal that in the end, was very forgettable and very expensive. The actual meals were standard — it just wasn’t what I experienced the first two times I had come to Villa Mozart. There was also nothing that really warranted the $ 69 price tag. Their typical lunch prix fixe is totally worthwhile(around $ 20) — but other than a little bit of truffle emulsion I still can’t explain what caused the steep increase in price. Overall, very unhappy with our experience there. Will sadly not be back.
