We visited for the first time when Ahi’s has their prime rib dinner buffet.(Last Friday of the month $ 28 per person) First thing that was a bit odd is the restaurant is not enclosed. Ahi’s is off to the right of the hotels lobby. We had linen covered table cloths but it just threw me a bit. I think glass or frosted dividers would bring a better ambiance than just being off to the side. Pro’s– very good prime rib –large selection of entrées(salmon, chicken, pork) along with the prime rib/shrimp –Large selection of sides –staff was very friendly Cons– odd seating arrangement –Miniature wine glasses(charging 7 – 11 per glass) –No labels on food.(I had to place sauces on the corner of my plate to figure out what they were. — dessert selection was not so great, definitely need to kick that up a bit. Long story short, I would go back for the buffet or just the restaurant since I’ve heard great things but I believe if they up’d their game a bit the restaurant would have a hit!

Nice bar/restaurant located in the Hilton Garden Inn Fairfield. It’s a better option than any of the chain restaurants in the adjacent shopping center, and I always eat here when I stay in the hotel on business which is once every couple of months. They have a good selection of appetizers and entrees(steak, seafood, and pasta options) and the burger is always a good choice. I always get great service sitting at the bar… beer selection is good. It’s a great place to catch the SF Giants as well, their games are always on. Every Tuesday there is a free wine/cheese reception during happy hour, free popcorn too. Can’t beat that!

Breakfast was bad, omelette didn’t have any flavor to it, everything else was just very boring to me, the only thing I could eat was the omelette and drank the coffee. Happy hour was a little better with complimentary wine and crackers/cheese, all the appetizers were half off which was a great deal.

Ate here for the first time and was sadly disappointed. Looked forward to the«prime rib buffet» and as the old saying goes, «where’s the beef»? If you’re advertising a «prime rib buffet» then don’t skimp on the prime rib. The carver’s attempt at slicing the meat as thinly as possible was laughable. We arrived early, but the hot side dishes(potato au gratin, rice, mac and cheese) were already dry-looking so I passed. The cheese tray was a mess(shame on fellow diners) and looked unappetizing so I passed. Salads included coleslaw, two green, potato and pasta — typical buffet fare. The dessert selection included shot-glass portions of cake and a few slices of chocolate and carrot cake. I, admittedly, am not a buffet person, but was craving prime rib and wanted to try Ahi’s and give a local establishment my business. Unfortunately, I will not return. The food was mediocre at best. I think you can feed two adults at the local all-you-can-eat buffet for the price of one at Ahi’s($ 23 per senior guest), and probably get the same quality of food.

Worst place ever! Trust me I know because I worked there. They buy the ahi frozen never fresh. They are all individually wrapped so you only defrost what you want to try to trick customers into eating that evening. It’s bright red because it has red coloring added prolly yellow number 24 too. All the meat they get they cut vacuume seal and freeze. They twice baked potatoes are yesterday’s baked potatoes. Wasabi aoli haha it’s mayonnaise and wasabi powder. I watched them have a business lunches for local buisiness’s and use the same sandwich meats cheeses and even baked muffins over & over. One time the sous chef or whatever he called himself wanted me to use old nasty pre frozen deserts to make bread pudding. I refused to do it. Not to his face of course. I just made a real bread pudding. Which later got a talking to for that. They also use powdered Demi. The head chef is a joke and should change careers.

I recently had a business meeting here, decided to stay for dinner with two colleagues. Even though I know the chef Peter Garcia and know his skills I was sorely disappointed. I had a burger that was so overcooked I couldn’t eat it. Wil was our server and I was also very disappointed in the service. My colleague had the flatbread and unfortunately it was served cold. We informed Wil as we were seated that one of my colleagues was in a hurry, and still it took much longer than necessary. Unfortunately I have to recommend it if you’re staying at the Hilton Garden Inn you might want to venture out for dinner!

Came by to enjoy my complimentary breakfast buffet for being Hilton Gold Elite. No one greeted me upon arrival. I just grabbed a table and went to the buffet. The breakfast pastry didn’t look too good, but was decent. The breakfast potatoes didn’t look or taste good, but they were made from real potatoes. Breakfast sausage and bacon were okay, although salty. My over-easy eggs were good, although too oily. The best part of the meal was the OJ!

I want to be fair and say the food was good but not $ 71($ 63+$ 8 tip) good. My boyfriend and I ate here tonight, our first time, based on the Unilocal reviews as both of us love seared ahi tuna. We got a bottled beer and the pineapple margarita(both good), house salads(delicious), firecracker calamari and crab cakes(appetizers) and the seared ahi to share. The calamari and crab cakes were good, not great but good and the tuna came with seared zucchini and rice. The rice was BLAND, as was the zucchini, however with the tuna it should have been fine. While the tuna was nice and pink inside and moist, it was overpowered by the pepper on the outside so much that you could hardly taste the fish. It completely took over every other flavor on the dish. We probably won’t go here again, except I kind of want to try the lamb oso buco, heard that was good too. We’ll see.

One wouldn’t think to go to the Hilton Hotel in Fairfield for a good meal, but surprisingly, it was very good! Hubby and I shared the crab cake appetizer. Yummy. All crab meat patties lightly crispy on the outside — full on deliciousness on the inside. For entrees, I had the 10oz filet mignon. Seasoned and grilled to perfection. I wanted it medium, it was a medium. Delicious. Hubby had the fish tacos. Three generous portions. I was expecting him to only get two, like at most restaurants. My dad-in-law had the lamb osso bucco. HUGE portions. Two lamb shanks — and there wasn’t anything left on his plate but the bone. My mom-in-law had the only ‘bad’ plate. She had a the special fish of the evening. A grilled Opah fish that was way over cooked. I could see how dry it was. Unfortunately, the dish came with a slight chutney on the side, and it couldn’t save it. She was nice and didn’t send it back, but really, she should have. Over all, it was a delicious meal for four, all for around $ 100! Nothing fancy, but good food with really generous portions.

Awesome! Chef Peter made my birthday special by making his awesome eggs benedict! They stop serving breakfast at 10am and we requested 12:30 and he did it special. They were wonderful! Also, my guy had the seared Ahi Tuna salad that was wonderful! And, our server, Christin was great. Thanks, Ricky Mellomida and Cindy Nunally

Chef Peter really puts on a nice presentation, the food is absolutely yummy! We had quite a large group, with both adults and kids. He was willing to accommodate our requests and even got to have a variety of what was on the menu, in smaller portions of course. Ahi, sea bass, tilapia were all great! Oh, and the desserts are fabulous!

I was expecting this place to be better than it truly was. First of all me and my family came here on a Thursday night, so we knew it wouldn’t be busy. There were only 3 other tables there, and yet our waiter was horrible. He spent more time talking to the people he knew rather than checking on his tables. At one point we had to raise our hands to get his attention. The food was ok, i’ve had better. I ordered the scampi pomodoro pasta and it had it’s fair share of salt. My dad ordered the pancetta stuffed chicken breast which turned out being dry due to being overcooked. My mom’s spinach tasted like it was drenched in salt. 1 star is for presentation, because it looked good, BUT that’s all it had going for them. Highly doubt that i’ll be back…

My husband and I have dined at this restaurant 4 times now and we absolutely love it! The price is right, the portions are big and the flavors are amazing. I am especially a fan of the lamb osso bucco and also the tuna wonton appetizer. The waitstaff has always been extremely nice too. The one thing about this restaurant that my husband and I don’t like… the atmosphere. It’s got the breakfast on the go feel to it as you would expect in a hotel. Though we feel this way, we keep coming back because the food is just THAT good!

Wow can’t explain the other guys bad experience, since the food here is quite exquisite. Ahi’s is Fairfield’s example of fine dining. If you’re considering dining at Ahi’s you’ve surely been referred & told to give the Rare Seared Ahi a try. Going with this dish is like cashing in a ticket into heaven. The seared ahi is perfectly prepared rare with a wasabi aoili drizzled over it. My family has dined here 3 times & the meals have been excellent. Once my wife had prime rib, which is usually served med rare. IT was a little more medium & was only just a steak, but I had my favorite seared ahi & had to share with her. Our next trip to Ahi’s she had the seared ahi also. They also have a seared ahi appetizer if you’d like to sample it. I also gave the seared salmon main dish a try, I was not disappointed. My wife keeps wanting to try their Oso Bucco, next time round… We were told the head chef of Ahi’s won a Food Network award. As another tid bit, a buddy of mine referred me. He & his wife have taken their 8 kids there & had great service. This is a definate dinner date place to impress. Prices are moderately high, but well below fine dining places I’ve been to in SF& Marin County area. To boot, the wait staff has always been very friendly. AND, it has never been busy, probably because of its location within a Hilton Garden Inn. There is the nearby Westfield shopping mall & the Barnes & Noble, Cost Plus strip mall is right next door. Have dinner & go for a stroll afterwards.

Note to self: Don’t expect to have a stellar dinner at the hotel«Dining area» that serves quick breakfasts in the morning even if it has a nice name like«Ahi’s Seafood and Chop House»… In other words, stay away from this place!!! There are many, many other choices of ok food that are head and shoulders above this place… So, here are my disappointments from this evening’s meal… 1) While waiting at the«Please wait to be seated sign,» it took a few minutes for one of the two staff to say«I’ll be with you in a moment.» After a few more minutes we were seated. 2) We were approached to order three times while still reading our menus, two of those inquiries were while my water glass was completely drained. Even after our order was taken, I had to finally request more water. 3) Steaks: We were told that they tended to cok them on the rare. So we ordered menium. My steak was actually cool inside. I wasn’t expedting steak tartare, but it would’ve been ok if there wasn’t line of gristle in the middle of it. Interestingly enough, there were no more new yorks available, so I decided to simply stick with my baked potato. That was until I realized just how old it was. No amount of butter or sour cream were able to cover the dry starchiness… Well, I certainly feel like I took one for the team this evening. I hope that if you decide to take a chance, you fare better than I did this evening. I, on ther other hand, think I’ve leaned my lesson. Leave the hotel breakfast nook to simply that, not«fine dining,» no matter how well they spin the name. Well off to AM/PM for some better food choices…
