Good prices, good food. One of the batter places to eat in town. I like the turkey with pesto, yum. Sometimes it is too crowded.

What a joke of a business. The owner is crazy, and service has went down hill rapidly

Love, love, love the savory crepes! My favorite is the Santa Fe(I believe that is the name) with black beans, cilantro and all kinds of other goodies. The food is all delicious and relatively guilt-free. The only reason I can’t give Crêpe Escape a five star rating is the atmosphere and the inconsistency of service. Sometime it is fast and other times it is tortoise speed, without rhyme or reason. But NOTE: Neither of these issues is bad enough to keep me away. I love the food and will be back numerous times, as I have before.

Crêpe Escape is quiet today. At least at this time of day it is. I am always drawn to the places with ample seating, but this is more ample than usual. The red vinyl booths smile back at me. First priority of my eyes and hunger is the pastry case. That clear plastic, 3 tiers of «what will they have today?» I keep things exciting by intentionally avoiding the urge to make predictions on selection. My eyes report back the dreary news on this cold day: empty. I approach the counter, where a queue of 3 people makes things cramped. They are all swept up in the unfortunate state of affairs: no pastry. Its certainly a headscratcher. Now what? I see the other option which is typically a viable alternative. The mystery tin. A single silver banquet tin awaits. I hear the word«frittata.» The line has received their coffee, and now makes their move away. Frittata was not the way today for them. It is my turn to fulfill my purpose here. The coffee machines here have a magical«do no wrong» factor in my experience. No other coffee establishment in this little town has quite the tone and flavor these machines can produce. The machine is metal-fleck blue, with gold trim. It even looks magical. My eyes feel the weight of sleeplessness as I stare at the cup of black before me. The frittata options are to bacon or not to bacon. I bacon. It is a generous serving on my plate. As I collect my items, the woman in line behind me asks, «Do you have any muffiny type items hiding out back?» What a question. The answer, is no. I take my place in a booth facing the street. An older man, tennis shoes, light blue denim jeans, harley davidson longsleeve shirt, is sitting in a booth across the isle. He looks up from his paper toward the pastry case. He approaches the counter, «So no pastry huh?» He was here when I arrived, and to say the question is rhetorical at this point… Well he just witnessed 15 minutes of updated information on the pastry case. He orders what seems to be his second red-eye coffee. He says nobody makes these like they do. I smile to myself in validation of my coffee praise. Another man tries his patient hand at the counter of pastrylessness. He has been listening to music on headphones, so it is more reasonable that he didn’t hear previous pastry exchanges. He asks first about the frittata, «What is in it?» Potatoes, eggs, cheese. One has bacon, the other has pepper, olive onion. He shoots the long ball, «Do you have any pastry items?» And of course, «No, sorry.» Long ball is a miss again. He takes on one of the veggie frittatas, and returns to his seat. The three of us now sit in exclusive club of not a pastry to be found. The coffee isnt helping my eyes. Maybe I should have done the red-eye too. I head to the cream and sugar station to jazz up my cup. With the sweetness, I will drink it faster. Lift this veil of sleep. I glance at the pastry case as I stir, they have added some packaged cookies. Will it suffice as supplemental? I wont find out. Half my cup is gone in a few powerful gulps. Another minute later, Im finished and I leave. Tomorrow is Friday, which I only just learned, is pastry day.

Personally, having lived in this town for five years and being a California food snob, I think it’s the best food in town in terms of quality and value. It’s not just Crepes, by the way. Every day there is a special ranging from Spanokopita, to curried vegetables in filo, to Lasagna. The soups are always tasty, flavorful and homemade in the best sense possible. The owner is from France with a passion for cooking great food. There is also a JUICEBAR with fresh squeezed veggie and fruit juices. Coffee depends on whose making it, but everything(or at least almost everything) is ORGANIC! ;)

I was passing through the area and stumbled upon this jewel. It is a «must visit» if you are in town. The owner cooked my crêpe which was a «California Style» with avocado, jack cheese, olives, salsa, sour cream, artichoke hearts, etc. The ingredients were organic. The crêpe was incredibly flavorful in addition to being absolutely stunning to view. The accompanying salad(I got the combo) had a very light, tasty dressing. The greens were fresh and adding even more visual appeal. The breadstick was also very good — fresh and filling. The basil butter that comes with it is very tasty. The prices are reasonable. A person pays for a quality experience and when you compare it to a fast food combo meal, the crêpe gives you a lot of healthy food for the money. It’s a wonderful treat. In terms of service, food quality, visual appeal, and the total experience, this place hit a stunning home run. I’m looking forward to visiting this place again!

I’ve tried the Eggs Benediction on Sunday Brunch, as well as the Turkey Supreme crêpe in a Dosa, both are YUMMY. The food here is fresh, and mostly organic… what’s not to like :) Coffee is average…
