This place is a hit or miss. I went one time with a friend and it wasn’t busy. Our cook was great. Food came out fast and so did our drinks. Just went on 1÷5÷16 with my sister. One waitress very few cooks. We waited about half hour for salad and soup. The cook didn’t add veggies or eggs to the rice and no saki fun. Highly disappointed

Seven hibachi tables and only two cooks on a Saturday night! Walked in at 7:15 finally ate at 8:30. Food however was good and reasonably priced.

Been here a few times(just to pick up take out)… Sushi is yummy and I like that you can order online. Chef special rolls are interesting and I’d like to try a lot of them. Unfortunately, tonight I ordered the firecracker roll and a sweet potato roll and I was disappointed. The special roll was supposed to have avocado in it according to the menu but it was left out which sucks considering the roll was $ 15(it’s one dollar extra for brown rice). The sweet potato roll was covered in tempura which is tasty but not if you’re trying to be healthier by ordering a veggie roll. I’ll probably give them another shot since its right next to my barre class.

Great place for hibachi in Downtown Fairfield. The ambiance was very friendly and the food was very good. Hibachi chicken & steak were cooked to perfection. We went for a friends birthday and they made the experience very fun! Add a scorpion bowl to your dinner, yummy!

Brought the family here for hibachi dinner on a weekday so wasn’t expecting them to be too crowded. We arrived around 8:30pm and the place was pretty empty already maybe 10 other guests tops. Food and service was ok. The hibachi«show» cooking was kind of a disappointment, there wasn’t really anything impressive to see as we’ve been to a few other hibachi restaurants. It pretty much was a guy who cooked our food in front of us, very ordinary. We didn’t even get a flamining onion volcano, or the flying shrimp, or any tricks at all actually… :( On the plus side, we didn’t have to wait very long and got our food quick. Plus we had a groupon so pretty decent deal for dinner.

First time here, disappointed with the portion sizes and bland food. Look for another place if you want hibachi.

We had an 8pm reservation and didn’t get sat until 8:45. Also, wouldn’t accommodate my food allergy when it came to substituting miso soup for the pork soup.

I came to Hana Tokyo for the first time the other day and I was disappointed in the food and delayed service. The chef did not arrive until an hour after we were seated, leaving us hungry and annoyed from the start. The food was subpar, the salad to start was heavily dressed while the soup that followed tasted as if it had been sitting out for a while. Once the chef arrived, he was charismatic and courtesy, making the experience better but the food did not live up to those standards. The hibachi noodles were overly dressed in butter and teriyaki sauce while the vegetables and main course chicken lacked good flavor. I hope that the improvements that need to be made will be for future business.

If you’re looking for a fun and simple meal Hana Tokyo is the place. This modern hibatchi restaurant offers fresh and unique dishes that compliment pan asian cusine. Hana Tokyo staff seem to take pleasure in ensuring a wonderful experience. Would reccomend a try.

Downtown Fairfield offers some stiff competition in terms of dining, but this restaurant is definitely up to par. Went with a party of nine. All of the food was excellent and we were served in a very timely manner. Like many hibachi restaurants it was very entertaining. The manager or owner, whichever the case may be, was extremely kind, helpful, and cheerful. The rest of the staff was excellent as well. We were also treated to a small portion of free food and a few trinkets to take home. I would definitely recommend Hana Tokyo and can’t wait to return again.

Been here a few times. Nice place. Got the business lunch special — it was a good deal, and it came with great hot tea(free refills!) Perfect portions, sushi was awesome, waitstaff and food were on point. Glad I stopped in and will be back.

Went here over the weekend with friends to celebrate two birthdays. The host(maybe manager or owner) was very friendly and welcoming. He walked around to check up on customers as well. Serving staff seemed a bit flustered and confused as it got busy and our server forgot a few things and had to be reminded, but was very nice and friendly. The food was excellent. We had a couple of rolls and several habachi dinners and everything was delicious. Chef also sent over a complimentary roll for the table while we waited. It did take quite a while for our habachi chef to finally come, but the food was delicious so overall we had a nice dining experience. Would definitely come back.

Oh how I was wishing for a good Hibachi to take the kids to in Fairfield. I will be sticking to Sakura. This was a poor experience all around.
