great work, nice ladies, a bit overpriced for alterations.

This is the one and only bridal place to go to in all of CT. The staff is wonderful very warm and helpful. My daughter had found her wedding dress in NYC in a large impersonal place that would not guarantee that we would have the dress and alterations in time for her wedding (7 months away). At Marie’s they ordered the dress and had it altered perfectly with 2 months to spare. Each time we went for a fitting the staff made it a joyous experience. We had a modesty piece made and a lot of exacting bustling due to a 4 ft. train – all perfect. Georgia is a genius with alterations. Laurie is a wonderful salesperson and Marie is a delight. The experience was stress free and easy and I highly recommend this bridal shop.

I don’t get all the negative reviews… this is a mom and pop sort of place, and those are the best. I live in Boston (my fiancé is from Fairfield) and we popped in here over thanksgiving weekend. I went to a bunch of stores in Boston, and all were so expensive for what you received. Sure you got great ambiance on Newbury Street, but you also got an absurd price tag. Do a little digging here, and you can find your dress. The women are helpful and attentive, clucking away like hens in the best possible way. The only down side is they seem a little lax on contacting you when your dress comes in and when you need to come for a fitting. However, I have no fears because I know two women (both with excellent taste) that bought their wedding gowns here and they looked stunning and were ready for the big day. I’m excited for my dress and can’t wait.

I am absolutely appauled with this wedding store. My mom and I went here to and chose a dress for her. They took her measurements, ordered the dress in the size that matched her measurements and she placed a deposit. When the dress arrived we went to pick it up and NOT ONLY was it the wrong color, but it was too small. They told my mom that in the contract they don’t gaurantee colors of the dresses ordered because of the dyes used. The dress we ordered was gold with green undertone, the dress we got champagne. Two completely different colors. Then they went to measure her waiste and turns out she was actually 2 inches smaller than when she initially went in to try on the dress, so why was the dress still TOO SMALL. They explained to her that she still had to pay for the dress because of the contract. If I was there I would have left the dress and not paid but because my mom is a great person inside and out she paid and is stuck with this dress that is not at all what she had ordered. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service, you ought to be ashamed at the terrible service you provide. And please update your store and staff.

Yuck. I came here with my mom and mother in law to look for MOB dresses. The woman helping us wasn’t the worst I’ve ever dealt with, but certainly wasn’t friendly either. She made some really rude remarks to my mother in law («You won’t be able to fit in it but go ahead and try») and then asked «so when are you going to order it?» before we left. Psht, we’re not! The place is tiny and I saw 3 brides come in for appointments within 15 minutes of each other. Not well organized or managed. I’ll never understand the pushy attitude at some bridal shops but they lost our business because of it.

I have not decided if this is where we are definitely purchasing the bridesmaid dresses, but found Marie to be helpful and kind to myself and my friends. She allowed the girls to try on potential dresses and even take photographs, without leaving a deposit. This is a rarity! I may decide on a boutique that will offer me a better price for the dresses (especially since we are purchasing them together), but could not have been happier with how we were treated and the suggestions from Marie. I am also contemplating having the alterations on my gown done there as well.

A bit seedy. Staff is very hands-​off. Dresses are not as reasonably priced as I would expect for such a low-​quality store (décor, ambiance, etc).
And the photos of past brides displayed are circa 1983. Shudder.
