If I could rate it higher, I would! Sandy’s was a favorite of my family and friends for years, but sadly I have to report that they are closed. I have heard, because of the owner’s health. So, very sad, because they were«THEBOMB»!!! I have never known anyone, that went there that didn’t feel the same. I could go on ranting and raving about the place, but it just doesn’t matter anymore. Fairfield has truly lost a gem. This place will be greatly missed. I wish the owner well.

I’m a huge breakfast person so, this was an easy review to write for me. I’ve been going to Sandy’s off and on for about 10 years and I always go out of my way to go there instead of some of the other unmentionable chain restaurants in the area. I’m always a fan of hanging out there, drinking unlimited coffee, stuffing my face with huge omelets, and reading my newspaper off in a corner. It can be really busy at times, but the service is so fast, I usually don’t even notice. I love the biscuits and gravy and pancakes as sides, but be forewarned, they are huge, and it can quickly turn into a doggie bag breakfast if your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Over the years, eating at Sandy’s, I realized that I pretty much tried everything that I’ve wanted to, so I decided to change it up a little bit the other day and order the«Kitchen Sink» omelet. This massive omelet had passersby double-taking as they walked by our table. Youngsters looked on in awe while the elderly nodded their heads and shunned my gluttonous attempt at this early morning masterpiece. My first bite was pretty interesting. I think I tasted Chorizo, pineapple, ham, some kind of bean maybe, and a plethora of cheese. I can’t say that I like all of the stuff that they put into my omelet, but it did open my eyes to things that I would’ve never thought that I would enjoy in an omelet. Be prepared for a noisy environment if you go between 7−9am, it is usually crowded and people love to bring kids. Give this place a shot if you are ever in Fairfiend.

We LOVED Sandy’s! We were starting to work our way into regular status when my mother found baby roaches on the table. After scanning the room, we noticed more roaches in the corner. Great food, bad sanitation. Sanitation is a deal breaker for me. Hope they address this issue. March 2012: Sandys has reopened at a new location and with a new owner. The jury is out. Hopefully since its in a new building, they don’t have anymore«roommates».

Once upon a time, I found myself in Hawaii on Memorial Day. Nowadays, such a trip is no such luxury unless a hefty price is attached. This year, the boy and I decided to drive up to Eugene, OR instead to see some friends. I still had some longing. I love the idea of getting up early and heading out on a great journey through CA to OR. That being said, one needs energy, nay, motivation at 7 am on a weekend day when you’ve been driving an hour already and want nothing more than a kick in the ass and a delicious taste in your mouth, other than adventure. I wanted spam, personally. The staff at Sandy’s is warm and welcoming. Ignore the strip mall feel. Ignore the fact you’re in no man’s land. I wouldn’t set up shop in Fairfield either, but that’s not gonna stop me from some egg and cheese mclovin’ easily made on a Sunday morn, is it? NO. But, invest and relish in the fact they have SPAM, people. Spam fried rice and eggs make this girl very happy. And you want a very happy girl with you on a 12 hour road trip, right? Right. Trust me on this. They did not disappoint. So many omelette options, so many breakfasts you can choose from in the future. The décor is great and quirky, the staff is attentive and genuine(at least that day! lol), the locals are abundant and my breakfast was damn tasty. Good portions, good prices, good vibes. All I ask for. And Sandy’s delivered.

I tell ya, you might want to try the omelettes here. Just sayin’. The jalapeño, mushroom, and cheese omelette(with added avocado) was a nice wake-up call after we started out from the Bay on our way up to Oregon. I have no idea why I asked for American cheese — I must not have been awake yet — but I think the creaminess of the cheese was the only thing that saved me. If I had asked for something sharper, those peppers might have done me in. The walls are covered with everything imaginable from floor to ceiling, and since it was Memorial Day weekend, it was great to see a lot of patriotic decorations, with an Obama painting thrown in to keep it current. Perfect way to start our trip. Check out the menu on their site. The food, service, and the menu in glorious full color on their website are all worthy of a 5-star rating. Don’t let the strip-mall location next to an auto parts store fool you, this is the real deal if you’re looking for a breakfast diner!

Sandy you rock!!! The funny thing about our going to this place is that not one of us got the Omelettes!!! LOL! We had fun reading the whole menu though. My son got a stack with sausage, hubby got the chicken fried steak, and I got the special skillet. The staff was extremely friendly and cared about our experience there. The food was fresh and timely. The bathroom was immaculate!!! That’s hard to find in a diner! I can’t speak for my family(however, they loved it!), but my skillet was amazing. The potatoes at the bottom were crunchy on the outside but soft and hot on the inside. The cheese was just enough… and all the flavors could be tasted but blended well with each other. I was stuffed but wanted to keep eating. My husband thinks we should have shared, because there was so much food!!! The décor is great, along with all the signed pictures in the hall towards the restrooms. We wish we had something Navy to give Sandy while we were there. She really loves the military and has numerous military items hanging. Oh yeah and Sandy gives a 10% discount to military!!! Who cares about these ladies’ ages… this was amazing food, comforting and their personalities started our day on a great footing that just kept getting better! THANKSSANDY!

This place is on my list! It took 45 minutes to make my damn cheese omelet I could of made it at home in 10 minutes and eaten it by the time the cold little effer came out! And the potatoes disappointed. Terribly. I was not happy. And it felt dirty in here. Like I really shouldn’t be eating here dirty.

Once you’ve had«Bab’s Delta Diner»(some 3 miles away in Suisun) It’s hard to eat here again, let alone compare. They’re both good no doubt but if I had to choose… I take my stomach to Bab’s. I never really had an omelet I didn’t like at Sandies, when i first moved down to this area it was all about Sandy’s Omelette’s! Than Bab’s Delta Diner came along… I finally came back after 2 years and the foods still good… the atmosphere is really old fashioned and you see a ton of regulars dining there. Sadly, my wife’s omelet and fried rice was beyond greasy… she ordered a #98 which was a Hawaiian Omelet and they forgot the pineapples… the fried rice was also swimming in grease. I don’t really pay attention to the silver wear but it had stains and I didn’t drink much of the tap water… it had a nasty aftertaste and something was swimming in there I didn’t want to look closer at. Lastly, I saw the lady work the registers than lean over to grab my plate, she was arranging my bacon and eggs with her bare hands and than went back to ringing up customers without washing… It’s gonna be a while when we return, hopefully they can win me over like when I 1st went there.

The service is always pleasant and the food is always hot! My personal favorite is the Gina’s Spicy Chicken w french fries and a side of brown gravy. My favorite Omelet is a #38(plus jalapenos) I have been going to Sandys for 12 years now and I have only ordered that specific one. I love it! Sandy is a very lovely woman when she greets you, you feel like family! If it takes too long to wait for a seat then your not into quality food. Its a place I will forever be a fixture in, you’re never getting rid of me Sandy!

I can only speak for breakfast. On that note, Sandy’s gets 5 stars because there’s no other restaurant to compare it to in Fairfield!(I’m not talking Suisun.) Hawaiian sausage and homemade biscuit w/honey and butter, my favorites! Coffee is decent and they keep it comin’. Service is just fine. The staff is always friendly.

This place STILL gets 5 stars in my book. I’ve eaten here more than a dozen times now, almost every weekend, and I still crave their breakfast! I mean, how can you get sick of a place that has over 101 Omelettes to choose from plus plenty of other options on their menu?! MUSTORDER of the week: 1)Specialty skillets — they are all delicious! 2)Pigs in a blanket — 3 sausage links, wrapped in pancakes, and covered in powdered sugar! DELICIOUS! DON’T FORGET to ask for honey to go with your homemade biscuit! It makes it taste 10x better! DON’T ORDER bacon. I ordered bacon and eggs the last time I went to Sandy’s and the bacon was stale. No crunch. No flavor. It was like bacon jerky!

Ok — first of all I have to start off with this was the BEST breakfast I have had in a long time. i went with my neighbor and I was very excited because she has been raving about this place for a long time. The food was phenomenal — service was fantastic, everyone was friendly, and we got our food quickly. That being said, i don’t know if I can go back. Climbing up the wall directly behind my seat was a cockroach. it totally killed it for me and my neighbor, who like I said is a long time customer. Now, if you don’t mind a little cockroach hanging around(where there’s one there are tons), this place is the place to go for great breakfasts. Too bad b/c I really liked this place and was already planning my next meal before the cockroach incident.

Been going to Sandy’s for years now residing in Fairfezzy and a transplant from the city. Hands-down Sandy’s is one of the BEST breakfast places in town — never fails, you come out smelling like breakfast and we love it! The only thing that’s changed is the increase in prices… but still the same great service and taste!

My boyfriend and I are both fat asses, with the bellies to prove it! With being a fatass, one typically loves huge portion breakfasts, especially with extensive menu choices! Sandy’s 101 did not let us down. Where else can you order a crab omelet? Not only were portions were great and tasty to boot, service was pretty prompt too. My only complaint? The tiny water glasses we were given and the hot chocolate, although refillable once was very powdery. Ick! Steer clear of the hot chocolate and you’ll be just fine, just be sure to wear something loose around the waist, or you’ll be sorry!

I ordered the Kitchen Sink omelets on a whim. I had to ask the waitress what was in it just to clarify, her statement was everything but the kitchen sink, and I really thought she was exaggerating. My little cousin’s meals came in and I was starting to get hungry. The waitress brought the Kitchen Sink omelets to me and I kid you not the eyes of the other tables zoomed in on the monster that was now my meal. The waitress presented to me 6 pounds, yes 6LBS, of omelets and my eyes and stomach were over whelmed. Taking the first bite, I got pineapple, avocado, spinach, chorizo, ham, bacon, potatoes, etc… The list could go on but I don’t think I can remember the whole grocery list. I am now a major fan of this beast of a breakfast omelets, but at the same time I know now not to order it on a whim. According to the waitress, she had only seen one person ever finish the entire meal. Some stick of a kid who was really drunk one early morning and probably went outside to throw it all up. People here are the Caveat: SIXPOUNDS of food… WTH!?! If you want to try this bring at least two or three other people with you because this is a meal for the whole frackin family.

We visited Sandy’s for the first time yesterday morning to fuel up for the outlets. It was a great all-around diner experience. The service was very friendly, the menu was intimidating and the omelet I had(sausage, Swiss & onions) was delicious. My omelet came with a great selection of sides. I chose the hash browns which were golden and crispier than I’ve ever seen a hash brown. I can never pass up a biscuit so I ordered one instead of toast. I was shocked when it arrived. It was as tall and wide as the coffee mug sitting next to it! The coffee was pretty good for a diner, too. My dining companion enjoyed his«skillet» meal. The Sunday brunch crowd was boisterous and diverse, with plenty of military personnel enjoying the military discount. Despite the crowd we didn’t have to wait at all to be seated. Too bad it’s so far from me here in Berkeley. I don’t know if I’ll travel all the way to Fairfield just to visit Sandy’s, but I will probably plan any future trips to the outlets around brunch-time just so I can stop here for another omelet.

Jeeez Louweez! YES, they do have 101 omelettes on their menu. .. and more! And a shit-ton of kitshy doo-dads adorning the place. Even the waitress can’t remember what the hell a # 34 omlette is, so you’re gonna just have to tell her what’s in it, or just make one up off the top of your head. After dining here a couple of times, I still haven’t been able to read through the whole menu, so I couldn’t tell you all they have to offer. .. but, it seems they have everything under the sun. Love that you can get MSG-laden fried rice, hash browns, or country potatoes. The fried rice is pretty good, but had a strange tangy taste. .. my friend said that too much MSG will do that. The country potatoes were thinly sliced, and lightly sautee’d. I do think that my favorite thing, to nosh on here, are the GIANT biscuits; wonderful, fluffy carb-love. This is becoming one of my favorite stops on the way to Giants’ games.

This place is awesome. I dined here on a lovely spring Saturday morning. It was packed with every type of American culture you could find. I really enjoyed the people watching and looking at all the interesting decorations here on the walls. The food was ok. My bacon was perfect and since I saw that the special was crab Benedict I wanted to try it(they don’t serve canned, it’s apparently fresh). I was disappointed in that, but I will come again to try something a bit more traditional or the breakfast fried rice.

This may not be the place to go on a diet, but it’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for good ol’ fashioned diner food. With at least 101 variations of ingredients to make an omelette, you’re sure to find one to suit your liking. And if 101 ways aren’t enough, you can add/modify certain ingredients to perfect it(e.g. adding cheese, substituting egg whites). Open only from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. everyday, there’s still more to Sandy’s besides breakfast. Diner staples, such as burgers and sandwiches are served, but it’s so easy to gloss over that part of the menu when the omelette plates are their forte. While the combinations can be unique(spam, linguica, or chicken liver, anyone?), the omelettes themselves are of the standard, greasy spoon variety – huge and filling. I did enjoy the grits, and as someone who needs a daily fix of rice and bread, was happy to see fried rice as an option over the usual potatoes. But the biscuits were the hands-down favorite; twice the size of a normal one, they were fluffy, warm, and oh so delicious. What’s best about Sandy’s is its vibe as a locals hangout and eatery. Not only is it good food, but good people. You receive friendly and personal service from the staff, including from Sandy, herself. It holds a certain charm that many chain restaurants dotting the suburbs lack.
