This place is filthy. The floor is smelly and covered with thick caked on grime. The plates and silverware are not clean. The air conditioning doesn’t keep up on a hot day or they keep it set too high. Often times the food is not hot and the meat is still bloody. The items on the salad bar are not kept up or stocked fresh. There are few items on the dessert bar and they are often dried out.

It seems like every time we go to the Hometown Buffet in Fairfield they get worse & worse, not only has the prices gone up, the quality of the food is going down. They stopped serving steak, the roast is just ok half of the time its either under or over cooked, or to much fat, then when they slice it it’s so thin & small you have to keep going back to get satisfied if you’re craving beef & if its cooked right. The other meat they slice for you is just ok, nothing to write home about, Their fried chicken is usually good, the baked chicken sometimes is under cooked. & most of the time we go there they have the same menu, especially the side dishes no matter what day it is. What they need to do is get some tips from Golden Corral or they’re going to get runned out of business. My family and I use to enjoy going to Hometown but now we’re at a point where we wonder if it’s worth going back.

Sadly this is my 9 years olds favorite restaurant. Mainly because he can serve himself. I’m not sure if there has been a change in management; but the appearance of this restaurant has taken a nose dive! Not to mention it’s 102 degrees outside and about 98 in here… The food choices this evening look scary. Most of them look like they’ve been sitting since this afternoon. Time to throw in the towel, Fairfield Home Town Buffet!

I’m a regular customer, even during the J.J. North days. The three Servers Luzmila, Terri and Bertha, are sisters and always our pleasure to sit in their station. These sisters paved the way for new servers and bussers. Oh one thing, please put WD40 on the wheels for the busser’s cart. It squeaks so loud I couldn’t carry on a conversation with Luzmilla. We’ll be back !

Decided to stop here on our way home back to Reno. When I used to live in San Jose I remember Hometown buffet being so much more popular in its heyday. It was just so depressing going in there because it looks so run down the chairs were torn, the food was mediocre and the bathroom was so dirty the previous patron had tore it up with blood on the seat which was completely disgusting. The employees were nice. I hope one day it’s going to get better maybe the owner of the company can put more effort into their franchise.

I honestly can’t remember why my mom and I decided why we wanted to come here. My expectations are always high and that I’m gonna have an amazing meal and time. I always prove myself prove wrong and wonder why do I waste my money coming here. Yes, maybe I shouldn’t come here on Mother’s Day due to I know every restaurant is gonna be packed, but seriously why don’t you guys cook more food? You guys know it’s gonna be busy, lots of families are gonna be hungry but yet your production of food sucks. People are wandering around waiting for food to come out of the kitchen. Once the tray of food comes out everyone jumps at it like its the last thing on this planet. There’s also no ice on a busy day like this. This place sucks the fun out of going out to eat.

Still, this place is known for the low price, very average good, and the ability to fill your stomach so you won’t have to eat for a day or two! So, why did I go there? Had to as it was the place selected to celebrate a cousin’s event. Otherwise…

Breakfast is good and relatively cheap. The crowd here in the early morning about close to opening to about an hour afterwards is pretty mellow, I recommend gong early to get it fresh. Staff is nice and am planning to be a regular during their breakfast on weekends.

I’ve been coming to this establishment since JJ Norths. On Saturday April 9th, which was a special day for me, I was enjoying my breakfast as normal. When I seen cashier Axil(as I encountered later) holding arms length red cups out to the counter. You can hear the cups fall to the floor. She picked them up and continued to place them at the front desk. My sister and I told Berta, waitress. Berta immediately replaced the cups. Then a man in all black came out and starred at my sister and I. Never any acknowledgment but just starring and continously walking oast our table. Then cashier Axil peeps around the counter looks our way and muttered, «humm!» Twenty minutes later as we’re by passing the front desk I hear,” have a great day, hummm!” I turn around and walk up to the desk and I said excuse me what did you say. Axil crosses her arms and repeadily said she didn’t say anything. I said so you didn’t mutter to us, «humm! So I asked for the Manager 3xs and Axil kept asking why. So I seen Luzminda and asked her to get the Manager. A short lady came out didn’t really offer any aplogies but went to get another Manager. Ronnie the Manager then approached me and I told him about Axil being rude and muttering to my sister and I. Axil left the counter while customers were waiting and Ronnie to ushered her back. As Ronnie, and I were continuing our conversation she popped her head around the corner again and he ushered her back again. My issue is with Axil. Her customer service was absolutely uncalled for. She needs more customer service training before she’s put back at the front desk. We come every weekend and I hope I don’t experience this immature, rude, angry, disrespectful person again. Axil and the man in all black please stay away from us. The other staff are absolutely phenomenal, Berta, Terry, and Luzminda these ladies make our stay worth coming back. Ronnie seemed caring and k ept apologizing. He did offer us complimentary food but that’s not what this was about and it’s not what we were looking for. I hope Axil is issued a Coaching Plan or a Corrective Action. Thanks

Well, we indulged my mother in law, who is a fan of buffets, and joined her there. I was actually surprised — there were many tasty, healthy choices. Ambiance left quite a bit to be desired, and the tooth-to-head ratio was lower than I would have preferred.

My work decided that for the past two years we would have our holiday party here. We got here on a weekday for lunch shortly after they opened. I came here last year with them, too, but for some reason I don’t remember it being nearly as awful. As I looked around at the different options to eat from the buffet, I was having a hard time finding anything that even looked good to me. I stuck with some basic items such as mac and cheese, teriyaki chicken, fried chicken, and grilled cheese sandwich halves. The mac and cheese was cold, watery, and not cheesy enough. The teriyaki chicken was kind of good, but only because it had some pineapple chunks in with it. I mostly ate just some grilled cheese halves and soft serve ice cream because nothing else looked or tasted good. Even though the food quality and selection was awful, I will say the service was still very good. Our server was very good at taking our plates away quickly, and would bring us straws and things as we needed them. Sometimes she even fill up our drinks for us, which isn’t even expected at a buffet. Thankfully work paid for the meal, but I for sure will never be returning here on my own.

Overall experience of this place is «meh» My boyfriend and I decided on this spot to eat because we hadn’t eaten all day during work and since we were famished. Why not a buffet to stuff our faces and stomach? Unfort… not the best choice. So we went around 7 and it was a decent crowd but not overwhelming with people which was nice. We got a nice cozy booth and dug right in. I started off with a salad and that was decent but the eggs were VERY rubbery. Spat out most of that in my napkin. Then I went for the Mexican themed taco area which was good but basically was like a mini Taco Bell. Then I went for the cooked meats, which the girl cutting it was super nice to the men and looked super annoyed and short to the women. Mashed potatoes and gravy were good but had a weird taste to it, very boxed taste. The orange chicken was good. The battered shrimp was also very good. Spaghetti was yum! Other than that the food tastes pretty strangely cooked. Like generic if that makes sense. Lastly for the dessert, vanilla froyo and cornbread is amazing. The bread pudding and lava cake were meh. Didn’t even care to try anything else. Overall experience, it was just food. So if your hungry go for it but it’s not going to be tantalizing on your taste buds.

Horrible service from server Tere. Was courteous to everyone but me. Never once said hi to me even though I did to her. Never asked me if I needed anything. Just kept walking past me ignoring me. Horrible experience.

Can we give no stars!!! Jesus. My husband, and I had a «bogo», so we decided to drive over and grab dinner. The front end manager was the cashier and had a fat attitude! I tried to brush it off but I’m huge on good customer service !! I went to grab food first because we had our baby in the carrier sleeping. Well the chick that was cooking the meat at the counter was so loud and yelling at people«oh your going to tell your dad on me» and«ooh big group of guys, come get my meat». Seriously?! So I tell my hubby and when he went he said the girl was talking to a tall guy in the back and he was saying«check out this bitch who texted me» and she’s says«no check out this bitch». Okay… Are we on the clock. The restaurant smelled like dirty dishes and it was overall Shitty. Do not go. Safe your $$ Trust us.

Came here yesterday(may 1) for the most part its great here. Food when I have at lease 3 or more plates or of food. Being A retried Army veteran, I get a great discount. Servers(Sonia) she always on the ball, checking out if I need anything. She also let me know new events or programs, coming up. Now the only thing that bordered me, was the fried chicken the spices was over powering it hurt me to eat it, and I always love the fried chicken. Not yesterday. Sorry about that. Maybe its a one time thing. I’m planning on coming back, when I’m in the area.

After scrapping up enough curiosity for this buffet, I was surely let down. I had no idea what I expected nor did I even know what types of food were to be served but I think my near decade hiatus was made for a purpose. I saw my s.o. scarf down some type of pink meat that looked gnarly and had to hear the after affects no less than an hour later. The serving spoons were disgusting from all the other customers nasty ass fingers and it annoyed the hell outta me when I had to fish through numerous silverware that had crusted food particles. Save your money and don’t bother.

I’ve had two bad experiences here and for that reason I will not eat here again! The first bad experience, I found plastic on my chicken so I took my plate to a manager, whom I had to stand by and wait several minutes before being acknowledged, and the only thing she did was offer to take my plate, no apology or anything. On a separate occasion, I was charged an extra $ 5 to my debit card after leaving. I called multiple times asking to speak to management and no one could assist me or refund me. I did not authorize a separate $ 5 transaction to my card, so why was I charged? I feel like that was a complete violation and I will never eat here again.
