Taberna is a hidden gem! It has a delicious, varied menu and is a much needed addition to the cuisine of Fairfield. You won’t be disappointed! Ps try the sangria

Their sister location in Bridgeport was rated«very good» by the New York Times and this one is no different. The menu features the best cuisine of Spain and Italy. We were served bread for the table. We shared the chorizo with mushrooms and white beans and the chicken brocheta tapa. Both were very good. I had the ricotta gnocchi with angus beef bolognese sauce for my meal. It was wonderfully fresh and flavorful. My parents both had the fettuccine with homemade fennel sausage broccoli rabe. They loved their dishes. The service was attentive and our food came out quickly and was piping hot. They have a bar area, dining area, private room for events, and outdoor seating. The décor is classy and has a Mediterranean theme. I look forward to returning soon.

Currently eating here, about to finish up… Everyone who works here is friendly but slow, like, very slow. The food is grossly overpriced for what is offered. As far as tapas go, the dishes are neither of exceptional quality nor inventive. If the prices were lower to match the effort and care put into the food, I would have no objections and this would be a great date spot, however this is not the case.

I went with my husband for a Saturday night out in our town. Decided to try the new place. All I can say is that this place was disappointing from the cold atmosphere, the unfriendly, inattentive wait staff, the loud off key strolling guitar player, and lastly to the horrible food. Could not wait to leave!

My review is for a family party we had at Taberna a week ago. We had 25 people for my parents’ 50th anniversary celebration in the private room and the service was flawless from start to finish. I should note that I have long been a fan of Daniel and the staff at Taberna, Bridgeport, but I thought the room at the new location would be perfect for the event. We did have a similar-sized party in Bridgeport, but they do not have a private room, so this is a nice option to now have. I arrived a bit before our guests and the staff was very helpful in adjusting the table setup slightly. I think the room is great for 25 – 30 people. We had two long tables set up along with a small table for gifts and photos. Everyone thought the room was beautiful and several people commented that they liked the color. The best part is that they already have a party menu that includes shared appetizers, a choice of salads, and a main course dish. We brought in a cake, which the staff sliced perfectly and served after photos. They printed copies of this menu for everyone, so the guests could easily make their choices. The appetizers were tortilla espanola(served in a traditional fashion), cod croquettes, pork on small toasted bread, and a pan con tomate. All of it was very good, but I did notice that some of the pickier people were unsure of some of the options, so if you have a few of these, you might want to keep that in mind with your selections. The entrees were steak, chicken, salmon, or paella, all of which are among the best options on the larger restaurant menu. The steak is always a hit here, even with the picky ones. My father raved about the chicken and the salmon is my go-to dish as a pescatarian. The Taberna staff kept things moving and were very responsive if we had someone who showed up late or needed a refill. I had lots of people comment that the service was exceptional. If you are looking for a turn-key party scenario, I would definitely recommend checking out Taberna. I thought the per-person price was very reasonable. I really liked the private room and that you can turn down the piped-in restaurant music and turn on your own. I had an iPad with a speaker and it was fine. We also brought flower arrangements for the table and the cake and the room really looked festive. Like I said I have been a Taberna fan for years and I was excited to see the new spot open. Fairfield has a lot of restaurant options, but I think Daniel and his staff have the experience(and the good food) to compete. It was good to see a crowded patio on the night I went in to finalize the party. Thank you, Taberna, for helping to make my parents’ day a special one and all the best in your new, second location!

Went here for dinner with a party of 9, food took 1 hour and 40 minutes to come out. Half their FOH workers do not speak English to the point where they can’t take orders. The food is ok, not that great. Had the sangria, wasn’t that good and very overpriced for such a little amount. Had to prompt the staff to bring out my food 3 times before it started arriving… If I were to guess I’d guess this restaurant won’t be open for more than a year before going out of business
