Yes, this place is in a gas station. If you blink, you’ll miss it. But they have the best street tacos I’ve ever had… and for $ 1 per taco, makes the food even better! We come here whenever we pass Fairfield. And I promise, no bubble guts after eating lol. You guys know what I mean!

$ 1 tacos. Best thing ever. When I was in high school, everyone raved about how good these were. I never got the chance to try them. 6 years later, I can’t get enough! The place is extremely clean for being a gas station, and the people working are so courteous. The tacos are full of flavor and are a great deal.

I absolutely love this place don’t let the gas station fool you! They have 5 dollar burritos and 1 dollar tacos straight to the point it’s amazing the carne asada is so good you don’t get any chewy bites and their fast. However I leave tips all the time because they are amazing I used a card and couldn’t tip and was going to leave to the car to get my wallet and found out that the hard working girls don’t get the tips ! Are you serious they have a girl who is faithfully their from open to close and no tips ! The owner gets the tips and she’s barley there. I was very upset because I’m not leaving a tip for someone who not even their to make the orders the gas station has a line of people and before you know it its cut down fast because of the girls who work there they never mess up anyone order and it’s simply unfair ! So this needs to be fix I will not tip unless I know it goes to the hands of the woman or workers that deserved it. Greedy owners! but anywho their amazing

This is definitely a hidden gem! You wouldn’t even expect that there’s a little restaurant inside a gas station let alone it being delicious! You would think that this place would be dirty only because of its location being in a gas station but it’s actually pretty clean. I’ve only had the tacos but they were so good especially for just $ 1 all day every day. So you don’t need to wait for taco Tuesday to get a deal, this place has the deals every day! The only thing is the meat all tastes the same. I can’t really tell if it’s chicken, steak, or pork they really do just taste similar. However it’s still good! What I love is that the tacos comes with grilled Serrano peppers. The only downside is they’re a bit stingy with them and won’t give you a lot even if you would pay extra :(. If you’re ever out of gas and extremely hungry this is the place to go!

Terrific Al Pastor, Chicken, Steak and Tongue tacos! Not fancy, just great Mexican Cuisine. I know… it’s IN the Spirit gas station, but don’t let that put you off, this place is a wonderful bargain in excellent Mexican food! Spotlessly clean too! Try it and you’ll be sold.

Pros: cheap, good food and friendly staff Cons: location Came here yesterday around 5:30 pm to try the tacos. We got a total of 7 asada tacos with everything on them. The girl who took our order was very friendly and conversed with us about recent news. The tacos were ready in no time. Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. They were cheap too — $ 1 each. I will definitely be coming back to try their burritos and get more tacos. Don’t let the location scare you. Tip: 49 cent charge if you pay with a card.

Ok, so I found this place on Unilocal, and I was skeptical… After all it did say it was located in a gas station… However, this food is phenomenal. I am a girl who LOVES Mexican food and LOVES eating in Mexico, I’ve never had anything taste so close. I got 3 pastor tacos, and boy I am glad I didn’t order more or they would be rolling back to work post lunch! I will definitely be back!

As a San Diegian where Mexican food is at its finest, this place definitely compares. The price alone is attractive before even tasting the food. $ 1 street-like tacos, $ 5 for almost everything else on their menu such as quesadilla, nachos, burritos etc. I had their asada tacos and nachos. The tacos are better than the ones I’ve had in the bay area so far. What I liked most about the nachos was that they actually used nacho cheese instead of jus drizzle with shredded cheeses. I may be a little biased but I did subtract a star because I’ve had better. Its also hidden inside a gas station so its a little misleading.

Went back again and very happy we did. My better half got the beef and pork tacos and I tried the al pastor burrito. Yum! This place is truly a hidden gem! So don’t get discouraged by the fact that they are serving from a counter in a gas station. Go ahead and try their stuff, you’ll come back for more tacos!

Best $ 1 tacos I’ve ever had! They have several different meats to choose from. I really like the al pastor. They also have burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and tortas. I don’t think they have anything over $ 5.

Quickest trip to Mexico ever! Especially if I can go there on my lunch break. Don’t be afraid of it being inside a gas station, the kitchen is super clean and the carne asada tacos are the best street tacos I’ve had in a long ass time!

I’ve had everything here, which isn’t hard because their menu is small and cheap. Stick to the $ 1 steak tacos and the $ 5 burritos. This place is a great value! The quesadilla is really big, a good value, but messy. Don’t eat it if you’re in a car. The torta is mostly bread. Stay away from it. Nachos are great, 4 outta 5. Everything here is fresh and made to order.

My best friend recommended this place, and of course I was skeptical BC it is in a gas station after all, but I’ve been hooked every since. I go here maybe 3 – 4 times a week. They have the best tacos & super burritos ever! And you can’t beat the price if you tried.

My friend Bee D convinced me too try this place, didn’t take much convincing since I am always ready to try something new! As noted, the«restaurant» is located inside the Spirit Gas station and Smog test center. My dining companion and I noted this and made some off-color conjectures about where they get their meat and if they smoke cure it. Sorry, in bad taste! The gas station itself is run-down inside and out. I am not squeamish and prefer roach-coach food so boldly went in and ordered four $ 1 tacos and a horchata(hi Whorechata!) two chicken and two asada. They do not have carnitas, which is my favorite meat — strike one. There actually IS seating here, a handful of stools on the side, near the restroom. Sitting here affords you a view of the grill. The operation is pretty simple, bins of the raw ingredients on the side are grilled and placed on corn tortillas or inside burrito wrappers. It did not seem to me that the grill here was as hot as in other restaurants because I didn’t see or hear a lot of sizzling and my food was not piping hot — it wasn’t undercooked either, but I just felt it wasn’t heated as much as I might have liked. There were a couple other customers eating there, they had burritos, which were huge. I’ll have to come back and try one(probably to go this time). Cutting to the chase, the food was cheap and decent but I think I would rather pay $ 1.50 for tastier tacos at Gaudalajara a couple blocks east on West Texas and avoid the risk of being smogged to death or blown up in a fuel tank explosion. If you are in town and want Mexican to go this would not be a bad choice, and would likely be the cheapest!
